We contacted Axis about replacing our torch-down gutters, and to improve drainage in one area where the water pools. A crew came out and did some work, but the quality was horrible. Flashing wasnt installed correctly, three downspouts holes were covered, scutters were not sealed, and roof shingles were loose. They sent another crew to redo the job, and although the workmanship was better, we still had issues. However, the company representative said there was nothing they can do. That is not the impression we were given at the beginning. I was told they could do the job and we would be satisfied. We are not. We will call another company (at our expense) to get what we originally requested. My recommendation is that if you decide to use Axis then I would make sure you have your expectations on paper, and have a followup independent inspection. This company is beyond frustrating to work with. Lack of communication and poor workmanship is why they deserve this rating. Management is not consumer friendly. There were numerous issues with the roof and the gutters. After several attempts to get them to correct the poor quality gutter install they basically told us "shut up and pay we are done with you". I am giving this company 4 stars with a "good rating". We were pleased with their response times as far as providing a quote and helping us along the way through first contact for a quote until installation. The work is fine, we had a difference of opinion on how the chimney flashing looked in the end, they state it is industry standard but my husband disagrees and thinks it looks sloppy, he did end up going up on the roof and repairing it himself. I am taking off a star as well for them using a sub contractor to do the actual work. When I first scheduled the roof replacement, they asked if I wanted to schedule sooner rather than later- meaning I could schedule for the next week or so with their sub-contractor OR WAIT A MONTH and schedule with Axis. I very clearly said that I would like to wait until Axis could do the roof because that was who I was working with, not the sub-contractor. I could have found those guys myself and probably been charged a lot less as well. Come day of installation, there is an unfamiliar truck with an unfamiliar company logo in our driveway for the work. Now they were very nice and I have nothing against them, but I do not appreciate how Axis sent whoever they wanted in the end. When we asked why the sub contractor was sent over for the work, they just said "oops must have been a miscommunication". Well I could not have made it more clear what I wanted and why. They just didn't care. They'd rather send whoever is best for them, see if the customer notices, and apologize later. The new metal roof seems to have been installed well, but I will never use this company again. They start a month later than promised. The workers used my extension ladder and told my daughter-in-law that it was their ladder. The workers went behind a shed to take care of their toilet needs until my daughter-in-law yelled at them. For a month long job, I would expect a sani-can to be in place. I got no response to my email complaining about these things. I sent another email after receiving my invoice asking how they were going to make it right. No response after one week. I gave them a chance to make it right. They also broke off the top of a Japanese Maple. read more

There was no part of this project that Axis didn't mess up. Well, except for taking our money, they did that part with no hitches. The shingles they replaced are separated and kind of shaggy, which is visible from a block away. All of the roof areas where they didn't replace shingles look great, it's just that particular section where this is a problem. We got the moss removal service, so you might expect all of the moss to have been removed, but what they left is visible from a half block away and we constantly have random handymen coming to our door to try to sell us their moss removal services because "obviously you haven't had this done in a while". And most importantly: They were hired to replace sections of the roof and trim, and in the process created (and left) an opening directly from the outside into our attic space which is now home to a nest of very noisy and active birds. This is an extremely important concern for us, and could cause serious health problems for my wife. read more

An Incredibly Good Roof, Expertly Installed I shopped around, got about 6 bids. Cameron and Axis weren't the least expensive, nor the most. They provided several choices, each of which gave me the best value for my dollars. They worked with me through some scheduling changes so that I could watch the roof go on. What is underneath is really more important than the shingles that went on top. The crew was professional and efficient, and really nice guys to boot. One of Axis roofing trucks did not have their load tarped properly while driving on the freeway. My vehicle was hit by roofing debris and had minor damage including some scrapes and scratches. Submitted photos to the office manager and was told that the owner would contact me. I have photos of the debris coming out of the truck as well. Owner never contacted me or apologized. read more

The inspector was in my house, but I am remotely at work, and my nanny is at home, but not able to speak English. I called Axis receptionist to get hold of the inspector. Axis finally returned and finished my roof. Casey G. wrote in his last response to me that LNI had approved the work that had been done, which was true, however what he either missed or failed to mention was that the approval was given based on the assumption that AXIS WOULD FINISH THE JOB, which meant screwing down the ridge cap and grounding the roof properly. I raised the rating to two stars because my roof is finally finished. Axis management, when it finally became aware of the issue, did handle it. But I can't go higher than that because it took them almost a year to finally become aware of the issue and take care of it, which doesn't speak well of their office and sales employees, nor the oversight they receive. Do not use Axis Roofing, their beyond bad, they destroyed my house. The roof cost me 18,000, but they did close to 15,000, worth of damage, to the inside of my house, possibility more. They haven't called me back, or email me, they told my realtor, it wasn't their fault. They didn't put the white barrier on the roof properly ???? Isn't that there job ??? To make sure water doesn't end up in the house. Didn't they read or listen to the weather report, that we were going to have heavy rain ?????? No or I wouldn't have water damage to the inside of my house. They took the roof off Wed 12/18./19 and Thursday 12/19/19, they didn't return until Sunday the 12/23/19. what's wrong with this picture ? On Thursday when I came home from work, I asked the job supervisor, to come in and look at the water coming into the house, he said " let me finish up," so I went inside, and they finished up, driving down the driveway. There is more, taking roof vents out, and not replacing , covering them up, the list goes on..... Unfortunately, i found coordination and communication to be poor. I found the office to be unaware of the status of the estimate (whether the visit to the site had been completed or whether they were working on an estimate). I got the answer "let me get back to you" with no follow up call. I finally reached the Roofing Coordinator and she said she had been out of the office and apologized. I told her it might be best to keep the front desk aware of the status of each account. She was amenable to the feedback. Everyone needs to know that your deposit is non-refundable even though your contract does not state that. I am a 68 year old person who was in and out of the hospital for 9 months in the last year and received around 16 doses of propofol (keeps you from remembering the procedure). I got confused and arranged for two companies to replace my roof. You said you would release me from the contract but would not refund me the $1000 deposit even though we were 3 weeks out from our scheduled appointment. We were getting our house painted during the summer, so we used Axis to have our roof cleaned and moss treatment applied before the painting was done. They were very professional, on time, and cleaned up after they were finished. After we had the cleaning performed, we discovered that the house had no flashing installed between the edge of the roof and the gutters. We called Axis to see if they would be able to install flashing quickly (within 2-3 days), because the painters had already started their prep work. They sent two guys to install the flashing just before the painters started painting, and again were very professional and coordinated their onsite work with our painters so each were able to get their work completed. read more

We were given options and quoted up front, all my questions were answered completely and during the teardown and reproof we were kept informed about the progress. After being stuffed twice by another 'Angie's list' guy, I was relieved to find a reputable company. Now to the job-my roof is metal and steep. And it hadn't been cleaned since installation. Carlos worked like a bear on that roof. And even gave me an option to stop the cleaning to save me money because some of the stuff was not coming off. I opted to have them continue and do the best they could do. My roof is infinitely better and yes there are a couple spots that are aged looking but I am completely satisfied with the job that was done. The honesty about it really sold me. Terrible customer service. Without a doubt the most painful experience for what was a well planned out job at least on my part. They screwed up my financing, changed material vendors without telling me, so the wrong color was ordered and the sales guy blamed me when it was his mess up and how they were going to have to eat the loss. Then instead of stepping up to the plate to finish the job when the correct materials were ordered and get the job finished in 2 days with a crew, got one guy for six days. This is my second time using Axis. I used them to install new gutters on my home a few years ago. One of the techs that works for our company accidentally backed into a garage eave causing damage to the roof and gutter of the home. I called Axis and explained the problem to Cheri. She scheduled someone to come out the very next day to fix the problem. Angelica then called to confirm the appointment and let me know the scope of work and how long it would take so I could relay it to our customer that we had done the damage to. There were two small crews involved, one for roofing, one for gutter, and they made the drive up to Bellingham. They showed up on time and the cost was exactly what they said it would be. Roof repair is not cheap and you definitely want trained professionals to do the work. I researched and saw some good reviews for Axis and decided to give them the work. This company delayed paperwork at the beginning which I should have taken as a first red flag. I gave them the benefit of the doubt since any business can get busy and still went ahead to schedule an estimate to be done. The company came through to conduct an estimate and seemed professional so I went ahead and schedule work to be performed. I signed their contract for the total amount due and paid the initial deposit to begin work. Once the work began they started pulling the "oh we didn't see the full extent of work" card. You know, the fear you get when you are paying a lot for something and then they surprise you by adding to the cost, that's what I started feeling. As trained "professionals" I assume your job is to know what the cost would be when you come out to do the estimate. The final price has now gone up another $1050.00 to be included in the total (red flag 2). Why sign a contract for the amount due if it's just going to change then? After reaching out to the company I am also informed that my original person of contact is no longer with the company (red flag 3). I can even understand maybe $100-$200 over the estimate for extra materials but another $1050.00 is absurd. As they inform me of this change they also have the nerve to upsell me on stuff I don't need because it will be aesthetically better. Why didn't you mention it during the estimate once again? As the work is being performed I am curious to see what else these "professionals" will discover to continue inflating the price. Be cautious when dealing with this company. It is one thing to have a nice customer service voice, it's another to discover issues that will dramatically increase your spending budget while they also try and upsell you on more work. Update: The company head reached out to me and cleared things up which I really appreciated. The quality of work was good in the end and I only had a minor issue with them working on the garage portion of the roof. Keep in mind there will be wood dust and debris that will get into the garage so a heads up to cover things isn't a bad idea. The company forgot to mention it and my convertible was down and needed a detail afterward which Axis kindly covered. An overall okay experience that could have gone a lot smoother. read more

We recently noticed a wet spot on our second floor ceiling. The forecast was for several days of heavy rain so I immediately started calling roofing companies for help. I checked ratings on the web for several and among those I called was Axis. They were very professional on the phone and were able to sent someone out the next day. Gerardo arrived on time and found the source of the leak. He fixed the leak on a roof vent and showed me pictures of the repair. He also did preventive maintenance on my other vents after I asked that be done. I could not have asked for better service and the charge was very reasonable. read more

Roofers threw shingles and flashing into my yard all around my house. They broke my wife's first Mother's Day present( a japanese maple in front of our house). I had to use a magnet to pick up a bunch of roofing nails from my yard, so that my dogs and kids could play in our yard. They said they would re level my gutters, then after the job was done I was told they no longer do that service. A week and a half after the job is complete and I still have the excess flashing and roof vents sitting in my yard, killing my grass. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. read more

Had a leak on my roof that Axis repaired, 5 months later it started leaking again, they came back and found a section need replaced and rehung my gutter, they credited back the amount of the last repair and came back out and repaired the section. I also had them come back to clean my roof and gutters, as well as treat it for moss. I really trust this company to work on my home. I hired Axis Roofing to replace the roof on a rental home. The initial estimate/scope of work had confusing verbiage regarding "ridge venting ". I called for clarification to determine if the verbiage on the estimate meant ridge venting and was told "yes" in a very reassuring tone. After the install was done, I drove by the house before making the final payment, only to see that ridge venting had not been installed. I called and questioned why and was told that it wasn't on my contract. I told them I had called for clarification when I received the estimate and had obviously been misinformed and felt I should be compensated for the error. I also told them that if I knew they were not installing ridge venting, I would have gone with another reputable competitor that had presented a lower bid. After several weeks of not hearing back from them, I wrote a letter to voice my frustration. The office manager called stating they could only give a $100 credit for the cost of parts. Ridge venting typically can cost $400 to $500. I didn't think the credit was fair and was told I would need to talk to the owner. I was told he was on vacation and would call me in a week. Two weeks went by and I had not heard from the owner. You would think they'd communicate in a timely manner and want their $4k final payment. I wanted the the frustration of dealing with this company behind me. It had been almost 8 weeks since the completion of the job and having to deal with their poor communication, so I mailed a check for the final payment, less the credit, with a letter voicing my frustration. Surprisingly, I then heard from the owner. He agreed that the verbiage in their contract was confusing regarding ridge venting and stated it would be changed for future customers, but also stated they could only give me $100.00 credit. I believe the quality of work was satisfactory, but because their communication is so poor and their business ethics are so low, I only gave them 2 stars. read more
