Lola is not only a receptionist who sits at the front desk, she is also a scheduler, but most importantly, Lola is a walking wealth of knowledge regarding every aspect of Axis Physical Therapy to include information about Insurance, DPTs, and PTAs. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, she is professional, and extremely personable. She genuinely cares about people and takes pride in her work. You hit the jackpot if she is your first contact as she was my husband's who called the facility on my behalf to research the level of skill and credentials at Axis because I had been to a previous PT who only has two Masters degrees so was not a DPT. After several months, I left without success and physically worse off. I was weary and leery of starting anew. I made the right choice going to Axis because every DPT is highly credentialed and I improved! If you have a lot of questions or concerns regarding this facility and staff, be assured they will help you. Everyone I encountered was very well trained. I had the best aide I have ever had! I do not exaggerate. Her name is Kat. She is currently working toward a Doctorates in Physical Therapy. Her degrees are in Kinesiology and Psychology which make her an excellent aide! Once she receives her DPT her talent will soar as she will combine her knowledge of kinesiology and psychology. As an aide, she had the education of how important proper body mechanics and movement is for pain relief and pain management as our limitations affect all areas of life. Kat is very professional and has more knowledge than any PTA that has ever helped me. She knew how to help me without hesitation. I felt vey confident in her ability. Axis is very accommodating. I asked to work with a female. I worked with two female DPTs, Lia and Jessica. Axis has two DPTs work together, alternating sessions, to make sure they have a more complete understanding of a patient's needs and condition each bringing their own expertise. I was uncomfortable at first because I had only worked with one DPT or PT. I didn't understand why two different people were working with me. They were both very different and very helpful. Two people have better eyes on a patient than one. I had no strength in my transverse abdominal muscles when I first started. I went twice a week and was very vigilant with my home exercises. Hands down a great business. Long story short, ankle has pins from an accident 20+ years ago. Fresh accident, seemed to alter them. My ankle kept giving out. After being brushed off, by an overpriced orthopedic doctor.....I had a very bad fall, he finally agreed I needed more than an Amazon brace. Referred here. Dr. Jessica is amaze-balls. She looks so sweet, but brought the pain. It was awful, seriously. I had bruises constantly on that leg/ankle area. As she promised, if I stuck with it, I'd be able to avoid surgery and it would help. I trusted her, got through the pain. Followed her home exercises and 6 months later I'm feeling a lot better. I was just thinking about having to go to physical therapy in a week after my last surgery and that I had never reviewed my most awesome therapy place. I have gone to Axis for over the last 6 years. ( let me clarify that I have gone 4 separate times over 6 years, I have been treated and recovered!) the first time I came I did not know why I was hurting and Jeff Waldron (PTDr and owner) figured out it was my back. I ended up needing surgery and he recommended a great neurosurgeon! Had surgery, PT and healed. Since then I have had to have more surgery as my spine is stubborn. The best part of this place is the receptionist and from then on was downhill. First of all I went there because someone highly recommended me and to ask for a specific person but after finally getting an appointment in a month, I never felt so bad coming out of that office. PT is supposed to help people with empathy & understand the physical problems we have. Instead, this PT was pointing out what's wrong with my leg and telling me to go have replacement surgery, and after 30 mins he led me out and told the receptionist "no follow up appts needed!". Basically I was rejected for the services by PT. I've worked with many PTs with my sports injuries through out many yrs, but I've never been treated this badly and he made me feel disrespected. I have been going to Axis on and off for years. I have been to many Physical Therapy clinics and Chiroprators over the years for back pain. This business is amazing. My PT that I see is Jeff (who is also the owner), and he is always amazing. I feel like they really care and want you to get healthier and better. The clinic is always super professional and the staff is always super friendly. The thing that I am most impressed about is when my daughter was 9 months old, she had a flat back to her head from always sleeping on her back. We went to our family doctor and he told us that my daughter would have to wear a shaping helmet for a couple of months to get her head back in shape. I thought that was horrible and it was going to be very expensive. My doctor told me that there is 1 doctor in the area that does a special treatment to help children like my daughter. We went to see Jeff at Axis and he was incredibly great with my daughter and made her feel super comfortable. It was AMAZING, after 3 visits Jeff completely reshaped my daughters head without any helmet or expensive treatment. We are so impressed with the help he gave us and the friendly attitude of the clinic that we would recommend anyone to them. If yelp had 10 stars, I would give them 10. I have never been to physical therapy before choosing Axis. The front desk people are nice and appointments were always on time but I got zero results from 6 weeks of appointments. I went in for low back pain and got treatment on my neck, upper back and a painful upper rib release all of which did very little to help my low back pain. I was informed about some non traditional philosophies about nerves and some interesting techniques that the practioner was very proud of and I was excited to be a part of it too. I did some nerve release move 3 times a day and all the recommended changes at work and home along with exercises . Then at the end of the 6 weeks, I was still in so much pain. I found almost instant and better relief for me from a sports and spine physical therapy place. I found axis physical therapy odd and not what I needed. Wow, this place is absolutely WONDERFUL! My doctor recommended this office because that's where he goes for his therapy and I don't regret following in his footsteps. A simple small blue building that have a homey feel to it, you walk in and they know your name and answer all the silly questions you have with a huge smile on their face. They don't rush you in or out, they take their time and there isn't a ton of other people around going through therapy (maybe 1 or 2 at most that you can see) So you feel like you are getting the one-on-one time you deserve. After I sustained a back injury at work, I saw Shane Rushing for PT and Tara for massage therapy, and they have helped me get back on my feet within a few weeks. While back injuries take a long time, they are great at remembering and listening and being proactive about my injury. While I'm still not fully healed, I am feeling so much better. I've seen many physical therapy providers in my time and he is a true healer that looks at the big picture, fixes the problems, addresses recurring issues, pushes yet doesn't intimidate me, and is a pleasure to talk to during my visits as well. The review would be higher if the hours posted were the actual hours open. They no longer have Saturday hours. I've had to come to sessions with my kids because I don't have childcare. I don't feel like those visits were of any use and they were rushed. Nothing to work on at home. Nothing to try to work on the issues outside of the office. Issues are still present. read more

This is after being told that we were all paid up and that there would be no further payments due. They shift blame to insurance companies and take no accountability. I was in terrible back pain that started in my lower back and then morphed into sciatica. X-rays and an MRI showed my back to be a train wreck. Normally, I would have been a candidate for immediate surgery but since I had been active up to the point my trouble started my doctor suggested trying PT first. The orthopedic surgeon recommended Jeff, the owner Axis Physical Therapy, and their Edmonds location due to it's therapy pool. The staff at Axis are all great to deal with as noted by other reviewers. They are always upbeat, friendly, and you feel like they're genuinely interested in how you are doing. The facilities are nicely equipped and the therapy pool is simply terrific. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable and great in understanding your problem as well as defining an effective therapy program. On my first visit to Axis I could only walk using two canes to take 2 to 3 inch steps while in great pain. I was spending over 23 hours a day in bed. After four months of combined pool and "land" therapy I walked out of Axis with my back never having felt better and my sciatic pain a fraction of it's previous level and slowly continuing to improve over time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jeff and Axis Physical Therapy as I feel they literally helped give me my life back. I also highly recommend low-impact aquatic exercise as a way to build strength without the discomfort or potential for injury associated with "land-based" programs. read more

These people are the best at Axis Physical Therapy. Both Erin, and Jeff the owner listen and care about your well being and getting you healthier and stronger at every session, very helpful and professional and friendly. I was helpless and useless and lame after 2 stomach and esophagus surgeries within 9 months and a nasty bout with pneumonia that left me in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit for about 6 weeks, I had lost so much weight (45 pounds) and lost all my muscle mass, that I couldn't stand up I was so weak, I had nothing. After several months of surgery recovery I began taking my physical therapy sessions at Axis to bring my system back up and build and to retrain muscles and everything else. Axis has woken up and strengthened muscles all over my body that I didn't even know I had, as well as the main ones we all know about. In a little over 3 months Jeff and Erin have used specific methods and exercises and have alleviated the pain from my scar tissue problems that kept me from moving or exercising, and they helped me build up my strength again system wide, and transformed me from being weak and lame and useless while often in pain and having a lack of confidence to do things physically ~ ~into being very capable and confident and much stronger in every way; I can now do exercises or lift stuff (I couldn't before going to Axis), no longer am I in pain whenever I simply lean over or try to lift and carry something or work on my hands and knees. I still have a ways to go and my limits are constantly being raised and they are a moving target but Axis has definitely helped me to raise the bar substantially. Now I can get back to doing projects and normal stuff around the house and even maybe working again. I have always been very impressed with the amount of higher education than is required and the ongoing training that "everyone" at Axis possesses and they use it very well. I made one visit to Axis PT several years ago and chose to not return. I haven't had any contact with them at all ever since. Recently, I started getting text messages from them. I got 4 different texts in the last week, each one "reminding me" of my appointment - 4 different texts citing 4 different appointment dates! They all read like this (only the date of my "appointment" changes - it's always tomorrow, i.e., the day after the text message): "Your Therapy appt @ AXIS PT at our Edmonds Office is confirmed on Mon., Jun. 19 at 10:45AM if you are unable to make this appt, please call at 425-672-2910." This is a dishonest and likely illegal marketing practice, a huge red flag of fraudulence. read more

I can't say enough good things about Axis PT. Betsy is the best. She is kind, very informative and generous with her time. Jeff is great with diagnosing the problem.. The staff is very friendly. I was referred by my podiatrist because of foot pain, knee and hip discomfort. It's amazing how small subtle exercises can strengthen core muscles correct your posture, reduce pain and increase flexibility. Per Jeff's recommendation, I purchased the stabilizer machine to help with strengthening core muscles and after a few sessions working with it I noticed huge improvements. I highly recommend Axis PT. Watch outgoing here they're sneaky and will run out your insurance money and not let you know, even though They promise to give you a warning beforehand. Make backup giant bills and you are left to pay out-of-pocket prices. They charge your insurance crazy amounts like $250 per massage session as well as exaggerated charges for your health insurance and will deplete your funds quickly! I asked to speak to the owner, after we have given them thousand of dollars and he didn't have the decency to return my call. maybe because there was no more money to be made off of us. Not to mention that we are no better shape than we were before we saw them. Truth be told there is nothing special or unique about what they offer, and most exercises you can just find yourself on YouTube or the Internet. I don't like writing a review slamming a company. But I would hate to see others be taken advantage of with gigantic outstanding bills when they trusted their doctors to keep them updated as to when funds were running out. The PT gal Sara and massage provider is great, however the front desk customer service is lacking. After working from 2 am to 2pm on a time sensitive project, I checked my calendar on my phone and thought my appointment was for the following day and went to bed. Slept through my appointment. I have never done that. Called the next day. When I came to my next appointment, front desk would not even hear an explanation. She rolled her eyes at me and seemed annoyed at my even being there. Charged me $65, which I paid. Cancelled the rest of my appointments. I'm much too old to deal with teen antics. Life happens. read more

I can't say how much I truly appreciate the entire staff at Axis. I have been treated there for plantar facitis and for a dislocated elbow. The dislocated elbow was the first significant injury that I have had in my lucky 54 years and I was nervous and not a little scared about my potential recovery. My ortho doc said I would probably not get full range of movement back. He didn't know Cathy, Jeff and Erin. They worked with me over many sessions and within 3 months I regained full mobility in my arm - 100% range of motion. My strength took a little longer but within 6 months I was at full strength. The team work at Axis is seamless and they are highly professional and fun to work with. From the receptionist, to the PT aides, to the PT assistance and the PTs, everyone shows that they care about you and your recovery. They are also really nice people - now that I have been dismissed from therapy - I miss the people at Axis. I recommend Axis without any hesitations! read more
