I arranged for my agent to meet them there so that they would have access. Instead of calling me back and talking to me, the one who made the request, they simply tell my agent that there are termites and that it would be $1200 to treat. I was expecting the call so I waited a couple of hours. After which, I called their office. A young sounding girl answered. She was incredibly rude. She even claimed it was a state law that you cannot buy a house without getting a WDI letter which would cost me $60. I do realize that some lenders, for some types of loans will require it, but it is not a state law. I'm usually very patient with customer service, but after several short comments and being told that I wasting her time, I told her that her attitude sucked ( being rude), she proceeded to hang up on me. If this is the type of customer service that I can expect from this company, I'll happily take my business elsewhere. I might end up paying $1200 for treatment, but it won't be with them.

I called multiple pest-control companies and got voice-mail or answering services. Then I found Cates Pest Control, called them and spoke with the owner who was very nice, reassuring and professional. He stopped by the next day with his crew, quickly evaluated the situation and made a recommendation or two. I sensed that I could trust them and it seemed to be a family business, which I'm always happy to support. The price was very reasonable and so they got to work right away. The owner came back after a few weeks to check on everything and no issues! since I had such a great experience all around, I wanted them to return for preventative treatments every few months. I have so much more peace of mind because I know there's a trustworthy, responsive and professional pest-control company I can call to take care of any future surprises. (By the way: Some of the other companies I called initially never called me back and a couple of others called me a week later.)

Ryan came to our house the next day, and would have come that day but we were waiting o a 2nd quote. End story? They did a terrific job; caught an opossum the first night they set traps, and a racoon the last night they trapped. They also sealed various openings (our house is 100 +years old) along the roof, covered the ridge line with a metal mesh, and covered all the vents with a metal screen. They also removed the old vapor barrier in the crawl space as animals had been getting in and making a real mess. They sealed all around our HVAC, and added hardware to a wrapped door into the crawl space. Lastly, they treated the crawl space and attic with an enzyme spray. Our house was very quiet last night! Thanks Ryan, Jordan, Tristan, and Bryce! Did it cost? Of course. But it was worth it!
