We own a building in downtown Galveston and have 5 standard AC units to heat/cool the building. We…read morecalled Roberts to do an annual "tune up" on all units. The cost was what we thought high ($750 for all units or $150 each). The tech was knowledgeable. One unit needed a new thermostat and he quoted $595 to replace it. He stated that two units had weak fan motor capacitors and recommended replacing them at costs of $218 and $185. There were other items he recommended replacement and one I agreed to because that unit had stopped operating. I declined the three items mentioned here because I believed the prices were outrageously high. The prices he quoted were for the parts as my "tune up" charge covered the labor for minor fixes. I looked up the prices for the three items: Thermostat: $75 Capacitors: $10 Each So, Roberts was going to charge me $998 for a thermostat and 2 capacitors that I can buy retail for $95 That's a X10 markup Anybody know a good AC guy in Galveston who works for a fair price?

The lady answering the phone was very nice and responsive. They were quick to come to our house, but Matt was equally quick to leave. Matt is arrogant and either incompetent or lazy. He said our system has "no issues" as I am sleeping in my car due to the poor air quality and my dad was hospitalized.

They also came across issues with the prior duct work configuration and reconfigured it, without charge, to improve efficiency and to add space to the attic walkway. Cody also came back out on another day to adjust the blower fan on the new system to further improve the humidity level in our home, and again, without charge. We are very happy with the performance of our new A/C system. Cody and his team actually care about their customers and their work, which seems like a rare thing to find in many companies these days. We have been loyal customers of Mabry's since they installed our HVAC system several years ago…read more They offered us the best price amongst several quotes, by far. We were quoted anything from $11k-$26k, and Mabry's came in at around $8k. They came and installed everything quickly and efficiently, in a few hours. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They knew what they were doing and did it well. Over the following years they have come out quickly for concerns and minor repairs, and have been more than fair with their pricing for these service calls, even when the issue was caused by other contractors, such as an electrician that didn't wire the HVAC to a new breaker box correctly. This morning I discovered the unit wasn't working, and that there was a breaker tripped in the breaker box, again. I called Mabry's around noon and spoke to Deborah, who was delightful, and they were here by 2:30, with Julio, who has worked with us from the very beginning, and Nathan, who I learned runs Mabry's. They diagnosed our issue, a bad transformer, within 5 minutes, and had it fixed in 30 minutes. They informed me that it was a warranty covered repair and got us back to a cool house quickly. I love Mabry's and would recommend them to anyone! Support local and exceptional companies! They've got a lifelong customer and supporter with me!
