The team at Awazul is very sweet! I appreciate their support and enthusiasm. However, I was disappointed with how things ended. And I do think they over value their treatments. I wish I had never done business with them and I suggest anyone looking for weight loss options, look somewhere else. I became pregnant half way through my Elite weight loss package and they refused to prorate or refund unused visits and treatments. From a consumers perspective, I paid for something and didn't get what I paid for. I understand the packages are discounted and the individual cost of the treatments are more - but I would never pay for the individual cost of the treatments in the first place. That's why I chose a package! It was disappointing after having had a pleasant first impression. I don't expect for many other clients to get pregnant during their program, so other experiences will be different I'm sure. From my end though, it was bad business and made me feel icky. I wish they had a way to meet me half way. As it stands, I will have to wait till after the baby is born and I'm done breastfeeding to finish out the remaining visits and treatments. So that will be an uncomfortable visit in about a year. For others looking to do a package, just don't get pregnant! Also, keep track of your treatments and visits and do your due diligence. Side note, I did lose 12 pounds and would probably have lost 25 if I didn't get pregnant (I suppose I'll be gaining that back now ). However, this grief was NOT worth 12 pounds...or even 25. read more

Awazul is such a refreshing medical spa/Weightloss center! I love how they treat antiaging with a holistic approach. Their new Dr., Carrie Giordano is incredibly innovative. I'm honestly pretty excited that they will be offering OB/gyn services as well. I received skin treatments from Osheana and she was both knowledgeable and personable. I've lived in Maui for over 30+ years and I have never experienced discrimination and disrespect like I did from Dr. Carrie Giordano. I was a client with the previous doctor and had the best experience. I decided go back and prior to going back, I spoke to Dr. Giordano over the phone and discussed my treatment that we both agreed upon and she was pleasant over the phone. Unfortunately, when I arrived and met her she was very dismissive of me and made me feel unwelcome. After the consultation and first treatment, she broke our agreement and was rude, cold, and showed absolutely no aloha. I felt defeated and taken advantage of. Being a woman of color, I felt racially profiled because of her change of character after she met me. Part of our agreement is that I would pay cash $2400. After the consultation and went home, I didn't want to continue the service so I called and asked for a refund which they denied. Then a man called me on her behalf that night and yelled at me and disrespected me even more. We finally agreed that they would refund my money after deducting $350 for my consultation. I have never written a review before, but after the negative experience I had it was important for me to share my experience that I hope no one else would ever have to go through. We live on Maui to live the aloha life so let's try to share more aloha there's no room for discrimination. read more

I don't post yelp reviews often but I have to say I'm disappointed in my services. I had a free consultation where I was persuaded pretty easily that tru sculpt /Id would give me great/ and even permanent results. I signed up to try. After receiving the 5 treatments and waiting several weeks. I have felt and seen no difference . I dropped a pretty penny on this service in which i had faith that which the Dr had insured me. With my follow up appointment and confronting the disappointing results, Dr Hansen made a plan for selling me additional services of thousands more dollars ! In figuring out why This didn't work well on me , I was told it was my body's lack of tone that didn't hold. But the whole point was to get more tone? Feels kind of gas lighting. On a positive note the staff is very nice and accommodating. My suggestion. If you are curious about these treatments and have disposable income then please try it. If every dollar counts these days like it does for me , might be wise to hold out. read more

Tried the "Awafit" (basically a stationary bike in a hot tub). On the plus side, the jets did feel nice on the legs, making for a very pleasant half-hour. And, you can get a low-impact workout with low injury risk. Unfortunately the experience was overall quite poor, for several reasons: - The staff is inattentive and unhelpful. Being there as a first-timer, there was no "here's what to expect". The impression was that I was bothering the staff. - The machine is not fit for an average height man. My thighs were not fully submerged, and as a result I had to position my arms awkwardly to minimize the water splashing onto the floor. (Maybe this is why the staff seemed unhappy?) - The calorie burned readout does not seem tied to actual calories burned. Mine said 612 calories burned after 30 minutes. As did someone else there at the same time, never mind we were not pedaling at the same speed. It seems it is just programmed to say 600+ calories regardless. From experience as a distance runner, I have done plenty of 600 calorie workouts in 30 minutes, but this was by no means that workout. - The water temperature is too warm to get good exercise - muscles can work harder at cooler temperatures. I suspect I lost 5-10 pounds on the machine - but it was all water weight that I promptly gained back when rehydrating. I am not commenting on the other therapies offered at Awazul, but the advertisement of a 600-calorie workout in 30 minutes is simply not correct. The machine will indeed say you worked off 600 calories, and the scale will probably show you lost weight (from dehydration), but this is not the miracle system it is chalked up to be. Update: Awazul offered to reimburse my expense if I removed this review. I declined as I do not feel this is appropriate; the intent of Yelp is to see honest reviews and I took time to carefully write an even-handed, factual review. The experience makes me wonder if the lack of other negative reviews is legitimate, or if previous reviewers removed negative reviews under a similar offer to what I received. read more

My experience at Awazul Wellness has been nothing short of extraordinary. Let me start off first by prefacing I am not one to take the time to write a review unless the care and service was above and beyond exceptional. That pretty much sums up my experience in a nutshell. I have worked in the cosmetic industry for a number of years with an incredible doctor and other than him, I have never come close to meeting a doctor who exemplifies knowledge, passion, talent and most importantly, compassion as much as Dr. Sonya. From the minute I stepped into her office I felt as though I was apart of the family already. This feeling of care and five start customer service made a world of difference to me. Weight has always been a sensitive issue and one that I have always struggled with. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be where I am today. I started my weight-loss journey December 1st 2016 and at April 1st 2017 I have successfully lost 30 pounds and gained a wealth of knowledge and self respect that will never be lost again. Dr. Sonya gave me the tools to make my weight loss effective and enhanced my results further with the Verju laser which tightened the loose skin as well as Sculpture that helped remove fat from a few problem areas. Whole body cryotherapy and the Cryo Facial at Awazul are amazing! The knee pain that has plagued me for the past two years is gone. I am now able to run and do yoga with no pain. All of the soreness is gone, and I don't wake up stiff in the mornings at all. For me, another added bonus was the boost of energy and mental clarity that lasted several days after my session. The Cryo Facial also left my skin visibly smoother and plumper with a restored youthful glow. Love it! If you were like I was, wondering about what Awazul is all about, step in and ask some questions! The staff is helpful and friendly and willing to answer all your questions. Dr. Sonya has some cutting edge equipment in place to help you with any weight loss journey or if you just need to target "problem areas". I have never had a weight loss issue in the past, but I got sick last year from a rare form of pneumonia and had to spend 10 months on Prednisone! If you know anything about that, besides saving your life, it can cause you to gain a lot of weight that you normally would not have to deal with. I didn't know how to get back on track with a proper diet and jump start getting some of the weight off. I am used to being active, riding my bike, working out at the gym, playing tennis, but this threw me for a loop and I had to get reenergized. Consulting with Dr. Sonya helped me discuss food options, prescription options, workouts, and laser to target my new problem areas. After reviewing my blood work she put me on a plan that has worked well for me. She knew I was motivated and would do what we planned for me, and in the last three months I lost 20 lbs!! I'm finally feeling like myself again thanks to her help and my own desire. If you don't need to lose any weight but you love clean, fresh juices, they are the BEST for that and even make fresh almond milk which I'm addicted to!
