TLDR: do not hire for anything other than spot repairs for leaking roofs…read more So we hired this company to repair a leak coming down in our garage. Sales person came out for review to make an assessment on what would be involved. In the conversation they offered to clean the roof, I told them there's a lot of moss up there and they said they could easily do that. Oh they cleaned something, just not the whole roof. They got the entire north side of my house covered in caked on globs of dirt. This included everything around there like my A/C exterior fan unit, my trash bins, my shed, my storage lockers and my deck boxes. They left a hose, my hose, on the roof and running all night long until my wife spotted it the next morning. My front hose was also used, I know this because instant of rolling it back up using the roll they just left it all piled up at the corner of my house. Now told them about this, and the person who responds just always says they'll get in touch with their "experts" and let me know. Eventually they came back to finish cleaning the roof and clean up the mess on the side of the house. They came and went then I got home and checked, looked like they took about two seconds to clean some of the side but ran off to their next project. It was in no way clean or even in the condition it was in prior to their work. As for the roof being cleaned and moss control applied, I can't get all the way up on the 2nd floor roof to know but my HVAC company came out to do some other work related to "Smokey cedar smell in air ducts, & they climbed up to the 2x!: floor and took photos. There was no moss control applied on the 2nd floor roof and miss was growing everywhere on the west back side, yes this was the very next day after M&H came. Cleaning and moss control were services we agreed M&H would do.m, but they clearly didn't yet still charged me for it. Oh and that donkey cedar smell? Sawdust in the HVAC exhaust line from roof & vent repairs. So basically the roofing company offered a series of services they never fully executed. I had to hire a different company to complete the gutter work and re-clean the lower & upper roofs and apply moss control up on the 2nd roof. Then I had to clean out my HVAC vents, and I had to wash and scrub the exterior of my house. How are they still in business is beyond me.

What was different? The quote had attention to every detail and included higher quality materials, better design and superior workmanship. Also the quality of the service was exceptional- communication with the team and among the team was flawless. Our roof was mainly asphalt with a PVC section and needed plywood to be added on top of the old ship lap. It also needed venting - which can be tricky- especially providing intakes on a 1940s house. All this was included in the quote. They had no problem adding 2 skylights with no upcharge-save the cost of the skylights themselves. The team is up to date and educated on the latest advances and details of techniques. I am so thankful to have found Three Tree. I have worked with contractors extensively on two old properties over 20 years, and Three Tree was probably the best. Prior to hiring them I talked with my former roofer - who now only does very high end work(John Michael Roofing). He has seen many roofs and said Three Tree does good quality work. Our project involved rerouting our power service, replacing our roofing system with standing seam metal and installing solar panels, all on a tight timeline. Their "meticulous roofing nerd" examined the existing conditions, was very thorough in scoping the roofing aspect of the project and constructed the quote with us item by item. The roofing work took an unexpected turn, but the crew worked hard to keep the project on schedule. Ultimately, the entire project went well. Quality of construction is vitally important with roof systems, and while the work cost a bit more than we had anticipated in the end, we are very confident in the end product and very happy with the value we received. Home Improvers are great quality craftsmen, very professional and very responsive…read more The Home Improvers crew (2 guys - both of whom were very professional) installed new mounting blocks on the outside of our house for 3 new lights we purchased. The new lights were larger than the "old school" exterior lights that were on our house so they didn't fit the 4 in x 4 in mounting blocks the house was built with. I looked into installing new mounting blocks myself but quickly realized I was in over my head and that it would take me a lot longer than I expected to get the new lights installed. Fortunately, Yelp search for handymen near me connected me to Home Improvers who responded very quickly with a ballpark estimate. They came out the next day with some mounting blocks that had taken them a while to find (had to visit 3-4 home improvement stores to find them) and even those were a bit too small. So the guys *custom made* 3 mounting blocks. They securely attached the mounting blocks (perhaps even trimming the siding to ensure the fit nicely... hard to tell now that they are installed so nicely.) They also caulked and painted the mounting blocks, installed the new lights and used clear silicone around the lights to ensure they were water-tight. We'll definitely call Home Improvers again for our next home improvement items (including tile work, handyman services, etc.) They were very personable and did a high quality job.
