Unfortunately, my most recent visit will be the reason I won't be returning. I went in to purchase a new gem ring and some stones, and after checking out, I got in line for a tarot card reading. I ended up waiting over 30 minutes. During that time, I noticed every other customer being helped without issue. I was also the only African American customer there. When it was finally my turn, the reader immediately asked me to show proof of payment. Customers are required to pay beforehand which I had already done and I didn't see her ask anyone else for a receipt. The request felt targeted, and the energy shifted from that moment on. I ultimately felt uncomfortable enough to ask for a refund. While my past visits were positive, this experience left me feeling singled out and unwelcome. Because of that, I will not be returning to this location.

I ended up at Brew Moon somewhat by chance today because I was specifically looking for a good…read moreherbal tea, and seeing "tea" in the name made me think my chances were pretty good. I'm so glad I stopped in! The thing that stood out most was the service. This is a family-owned and operated business, and you can genuinely feel that when you're there. The sisters working were teasing each other and having fun, and you could just tell they're close. Both employees I interacted with were incredibly sweet, friendly, and helpful, and I noticed they treated every other customer with that same warmth. There's just a different feeling to a place like this. It feels personal and welcoming in a way that really sets it apart. I was also SO happy to see how many caffeine-free tea options they had. The woman helping me asked what kinds of flavors I liked, and after I gave her a few ideas, she steered me toward a tea that ended up being exactly what I was looking for. Then they did something I've honestly never experienced before, despite having had countless cups of tea at coffee and tea shops over the years. They gave me my teabag back to take home and reuse! It came in an adorable little cup with the name of the tea and steeping instructions written on the outside. They explained that their teas are high quality and flavorful enough that you can usually get two, if not three, brews out of them, so why throw the tea away after one? Such a small thing, but I loved it. It felt thoughtful, generous, and mindful of waste all at once. The shop itself isn't huge, but they've made really nice use of the space. The front has a gift-shop area with a variety of new age type items for sale, then you order your drink at the counter farther in. Off to the side are several small tables, plus a separate little room with a few armchairs. You can leave the door open and have it feel semi-private, or close it if you want a little more privacy. My only small note is that when I first walked in, the scent of what I assume was incense was pretty strong. I'm not much of an incense person, so it was a little overwhelming at first. If there were a way to make the scent a bit more subtle, I think it would make the space even more comfortable for people who aren't used to it. That said, after about 15 minutes sipping my tea, I didn't notice it anymore. Overall, this was such a pleasant surprise. I went in simply hoping to find a caffeine-free herbal tea I'd enjoy and ended up finding a warm, welcoming family-run shop with wonderful service and people who clearly care about what they're serving and the customers who walk through the door. A small handful of months later I met her at a trade show (can't remember the name) and I had a quick 15 minute reiki session. Wow. In 15 minutes I felt more depth of healing than I have in any other energy healer. And I've worked with a few others for full sessions. I stayed in touch by following her on social media and just felt truly grateful - already - for having come across her. She truly is living her life purpose and it shows when you experience her work. A few months after that quick treatment, I joined a class to become certified in Reiki I (the first of 3 levels attainable). It changed my life. Also, I just love the energy inside her quaint and charming studio. A totally unexpected location but the energy inside is nothing but love and healing. Last week I scheduled myself a full reiki session. But something was telling me to check into the other kind of healing she offers - access consciousness bars. When I arrived, she intuited that indeed I would benefit more from this healing modality. Once again, I am blown away by the amazing feeling I had while in her caring hands. And after - which is also super important. This healing option works to remove layers upon layers of "programming" that resides on an electromagnetic energy level in your brain and holds a person back in life. Think self-imposed limiting beliefs, traits handed down via DNA that aren't yours to carry, and on. I could actually feel the "gunk" leaving during the treatment. When I got home, I was so productive and accomplished about a days worth of chores in a small window of time. I had clarity like never before. Interactions with people that were normally not awesome were smooth sailing. I had my first session last Saturday and it was wonderful. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect,…read morebut I went with an open mind. I was greeted warmly and led to a calm serene room. Rhianna explained the reiki relaxation process and ask permission to begin. It was quite nice and I have actually been sleeping much deeper since my appointment. I'd go into more detail but the truly amazing thing happened after my session. My husband brought out 4 yo son. We were sure this was going to be a bust because he does not stop moving! Rhianna had thought ahead and asked us to bring coloring books for him, maybe this would help keep him still...? Yeah right! Then it happened, he hopped on the table and sat next to me. Rhianna again asked permission to begin and our son said yes. Within two minutes my busy boy let out the deepest sigh. He had a confused look on his face and he slowly started to lean forward. I thought for a minute he had fallen asleep sitting up. My husband and I looked at each other in amazement. Our son was calm. He only sits still this long to play a video game! We asked if he wanted to lay down, he had previously refused, but now he curled up on the table and melted in to relaxation. The sessions for our son lasted 30 minutes. Roughly 25 minutes longer than I thought he would tolerate. The remainder of the day and throughout the weekend I notice the "business" was a little less and he was content to color, read or play games each night this week instead of begging for tv/game time. He has also asked if it is bedtime. He rarely admits to being tired. I feel that what Rhianna described as energy bursting out of his head, was put back into place by her.
