WORST RUN ORGANIZATION!!!!!!!…read more Signed up my child for flag football. They advertised in my neighborhood. Claiming games were going to be played in PV. They put out a schedule a few days before the first game. 7 out of the 8 games played in El Segundo High School. ONE game played at Rolling Hills Prep. El Segundo is 45 minutes away from my home. If I would have known that at the beginning, I would have signed up in Torrance. My child (7) is in Division III. It states 6 to 8 years old. I'm seeing kids on other teams 9, 10, and 11 years old. I mentioned it to the director, Joe, and he doesn't seem to care. He just shrugs his shoulder and walks away. There is another division for 9 - 11 years old. Apparently, some coaches want to keep their team intact and winning. Teaching kids isn't the priority here. Joe coaches a Division III team. He screams at his kids and manhandles them. At least he's not my son's coach. Not the way the director should conduct himself. I am told by other parents that he picks his own players. Trying to get a good team. It is hard enough for our coaches trying to teach the kids the game and rules of football. But, when you pit them against kids that are up to 5 years older it is very difficult to coach them. Some become afraid since they are about 8 inches shorter and about 40 pounds lighter. Hard to coach fundamentals when they are paired against such older kids. Bottom line. This organization is poorly run. I will not sign up my kids again in this league.

Former NFL Player Spring 2010 "Playing with South Bay Youth Sports was an enjoyable experience. The league had the kids' best interest at heart, and all the kids had fun. Spring 2009 My two boys (and myself) have really enjoyed SBYS. Creating, managing and maintaining a league this large and in this type of community can be a headache at times but you've made it look easy. Watching you each weekend walk around, assess situations and coolly address problems is amazing. I want to commend you and your staff on a great season and thank you for all your hard work. The kids and parents owe you a huge thanks! Rob M. Spring 2008

The practice open public skate hours are posted and it's good place to ice skate and they also have private parties for kids birthday celebrations you can book. The instructors are friendly as well as work well with kids and groups of children. I think they also offer private lessons too. There is an in-house pro-shop selling ice skating gear including hockey equipment. Yes! The NHL's Los Angeles Kings appeared on 02/22/26 Sunday midday around 10am-12 noon for practice and the public viewing was free too! That's always a bonus pleasant surprise.

We typically arrive early, grab a snack from the café, and have generally enjoyed our experience. Today, however, we had to stop by the front office for assistance. Unfortunately, the staff member who helped me, whose name I did not catch, but who has very distinctive half-blonde, half-black hair, came across as rude and condescending. My child had forgotten his lanyard, so we asked for a temporary tag, something we've done before without issue. Beyond this interaction, there was a noticeable sense of entitlement in the overall environment. When I visited the ProStride store, I was the only customer present, yet there was no greeting or acknowledgment. When I asked for assistance, it felt reluctant and forced, as though helping was an inconvenience. As someone who works as a Director of Member Services, I was disappointed by these experiences. Front-facing staff set the tone for an organization, and today's interactions did not reflect the welcoming, family-friendly environment one would expect, especially in a space that serves children and families.

There is a large grass field area, a softball field, sand volleyball, a basketball court, playground, picnic table area and a partridge in a pear tree! I should note that the park is Employee's only and not generally open to the public. Not that I can confirm, however. I took the fam bam to watch Despicable Me 2 here. The doors opened at 4p and the movie was to begin at dusk. Due to the entrance being off a street, the ESPD were kind enough to cordon off an entire lane of El Segundo Blvd so we could have a safe lane to walk on. Parking for disabled guests were IN the park and the rest of the parking was across the street. There were lots of activities for kids available as well as a beer/wine booth for the grown follks. Food booths were also available and ranged from tacos to pizza to funnel cake. The movie ended up starting around 830p. Luckily, all those activities (and beer) were available to occupy all the families out. We didn't quite make it through the movie, but, good times were had by all! Would love to come back here for another fun filled event!

I have founded my own travel ball academies (Los Angeles Xtreme Baseball Academy), and I have helped dozens of youth athletes go on to play at the college level, including my 2 older kids (both division 1 student athletes). I also am the founder and President of a local non profit youth sports academy. I list this all not to highlight my accolades and resume, but rather, because I know just what it takes to run a successful and accomplished program, along with a world class indoor batting cage and training facility. Beach City Baseball Academy checks all of these boxes, and much more. Their indoor training facility is one of the best I've seen, with numerous hitting lanes, state of the art equipment, spacious pitching and fielding stations, and a fully outfitted weight room with recovery stations. They offer an amazing membership program, their coaching staff is skilled, knowledgeable, and committed to developing talent, no matter what the age or skill level. They are located in the heart of one of the best small towns in Southern California, El Segundo. Last but certainly not least, they have a management team that is responsive to their members and customers alike. Their General manager, Shelly, deserves extra notice for always going the extra mile for her clients. I highly recommend Beach City Baseball Academy to any athlete with a desire to learn how to play the game the right way, and who has a drive to improve and grow as an athlete. My daughter has improved tremendously in her short time workout out there, and I am looking forward to watching her continue to blossom. Thank you to Shelly and her team, you are a class organization. If you want your player to succeed, you need to incorporate BCBA into their weekly training regimen.
