As 3 young women we were really looked down upon in this establishment. It was pretty sad to see in this day and age. Decided to stop by & get a drink, but our server Dallas was really quite rude the whole time we were there. If you're not in their 'golf club' I'd highly recommend taking your business to The Porch just a minute or two down the road. Even after leaving a $28 tip on a $32 dollar tab, we saw the servers grouped together talking about us. I personally have never been treated this poorly at a bar & grill before. I played this past Friday as a guest of a member and the course was in exceptional shape. Fairways were well maintained, bunkers were raked and leveled, greens were superfast, and tee boxes were cared for. Very challenging layout, so if you want a reality check on how your game is progressing, this is a great place to start. Have played seven area courses this summer and this is by far the most challenging! read more

Basic golf but a fun course. It is small local and basic. More expensive than you would think.

We had a client fly in to meet our team and check out North Idaho. We booked an 11:08 tee on a beautiful summer day in an effort to give our client a memorable experience. We showed up to the course and there was an event finishing up so it was busy which was fine. We teed off at 11:02am and finished at 2:55pm, just under 4 hours. We had a couple different marshals approach us three separate times trying to get us to play faster. They even attempted to have us pick up and skip a hole. The group behind us never waiting once for us the entire round. I was appalled at the lack of golf etiquette and overall unprofessional interaction with not only the marshals but the pro shop and ultimately the new GM. After the round, I explained the situation to the pro shop, and left a note for the GM. The pro shop was unapologetic and lacked any confidence that the situation or message would be passed along to the GM. Since I didn't receive a follow up call, I reached out and left another message with the Pro shop and the GMs office. Another week went by with nothing so I called again and finally spoke to the new GM. He game a half hearted apology and basically offered me nothing (twilight rate next time I come out). After almost $600 in greens fees and another $100 with the beverage gal, and a terrible experience and that's the thanks we get? Avondale Golf Course in Hayden Idaho sure left a memorable experience, but not the one we were looking for. I'll never go back and would never recommend this course to anyone. read more

For over $100 for 18 holes and a cart, you'll be on a course that is not supervised or managed at all by a course Marshall. I had a group of three ladies with their three, all under six, toddlers hacking and slashing on the course. Yes, the toddlers were actually hacking in the sand traps and the greens with their toy, plastic "golf" clubs. Then, a couple in their own cart came out of nowhere and cut in front of me, probably poachers. I called the club house and was told they had no carts left so no one would be out until someone returned a cart. Another indicator this course is not managed for continuity of play by anyone. So, if you're good paying over $100 for an unmanaged , day-care golf course, You'll be much better off any other course in CdA, believe me! read more

My wife and i had dinner 2/19/21 at 5:00P.M. we ordered prime rib what a joke at $30.00 a plate my cut vary thin and cooked med. as i ordered black and blue and hamburger patties are thicker ,even the clam chowder was poor ,should be thick not thin as water ,their cuts of meat are all over the map . we will not return. poor food RESTAURANT - Avondale Golf Course read more

Avondale was a beautiful place, was. It has become overpriced, suffering from lack of maintenance, and inundated by horny, old, loud male members who believe the winner is the one who can be the most obnoxious in the lounge. Empty ball wash station without towels, carts sprayed with sticky soda, unmaintained sand traps, overpriced range balls, and a course that does not warrant $100/round. $35 for a cart, come on! Avondale had a good restaurant but staff changes and the male members that have made it their man cave clubhouse have eliminated it as a place to enjoy a meal. If you are a female I'd recommend not stepping in the lounge without a male escort. read more

I can certainly imagine why they have a 1.5 star rating. I took the time to look on their website for a dress code policy before going to this golf course. The website said nothing about a dress code, so I dressed as I pleased(in a tank top). I was approached by an employee at the golf course about my attire. I mentioned that I did, in fact take the time to look online about whether there was a dress code before leaving my home. I then attempted to very humbly ask where I can find the dress code policy. (In my mind it's unprofessional to enforce this policy I did my do diligence and because an error on their side I would've had to drive 30 minutes back to my house to put on proper attire or wear a sweatshirt in 90° weather and be uncomfortable the entire time I was there). Apparently it did not come off very humbly because the way I was treated from that moment on was unprofessional, condescending, and honestly a bit threatening for a moment. read more

BM from Scottsdale Arizona, couldn't be more right. I'm a mother and have taken my kids there for golf lessons because it's the closest golf course to my house. I've considered becoming a member but the maintenance and the boy club atmosphere turns me off. It's not worth the price. I grew up around golf, and my father and the men I was around were comical and fun but never rude. Especially around women. I've sat there waiting for my kids to finish with grandmothers doing the same and can't believe all the F bombs that are consistently going off from the male members at the grill which has seating on the outside and inside. Either place, it's the same and very consistent. Management doesn't seem to mind and often cater to the obvious abundance of male members. They've taken the gentlemen out of golf. read more
