She rang the buzzer 20 minutes before she called me. She recently had a hip replacement surgery and could not get up without assistance. She had to use the restroom and ended up soiling herself because it was at least ONE HOUR before an aide came to assist her. I got there 45 minutes after her calling me and the aide was finally there helping her! I got a little loud and said how would you like it if you had to wait that long and don't you think it would make your job easier if you didn't make her wait!? Now you have to clean up sh*t! I also was told that 6 aides will be on the schedule to work a shift and they are lucky if 3 of them show up to work! I would never recommend this place because of this. I will say that the nurses are compassionate.

I have gone there at different time of the day, different shifts, different days of the week the experience has always been the same, fantastic . Mom needed skilled care and both the PT department as well as OT were extremely helpful. The professional team Stephen, Sophia and Brinden are second to none . Nothing can be done without the relentless efforts of the social worker Melissa Conrad . I can not thank her enough . JOHN the MDS was very helpful with insurance and the appeal process. The admission Director Rachel Holliday made the admissions process so easy . The place is always clean with no odor . Thanks to Dee and others for doing a great job. This says a lot about Housekeeping Supervisor Delia Diaz. The care from the LPN like Tania and other was greatly appreciated . This is due to the leadership of Director of Nursing Jennifer Mounts . The NP Rachel from Cleveland Clinic with Dr Vacca team we're open minded and willing to listen . The Nutrition Dept under the leadership of Traci with her team of cooks like Lynn and aids like Meagan offer great, tasty meals . Better than 5 stars restaurants . They even brought a live singer Chris for activity time .Thank you Angela for doing a great job in activity . This 75 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in in the heart of Avon, Ohio. You can schedule a tour. If your looking for services like Chronic Disease Management, PT OR OT, Audiology Services, complex wound care, skilled nursing , short term rehabilitation , long term care, respite stay , hospice care, and much much more, I recommend The Woods hands down . It takes great leadership to run a team and the Administrator Mr. Alec Walker is Probably the best I have ever experienced because my visits every single time had the same outcome; GREAT

The people who work there are so nice and very compasionate, however, the people who took over and are running the facility now are not so great. The food is not the best quality and some of the things that were once included in the already high price to live there are now an extra expense. They nickle and dime the people who live there. Not what I would call a "Christian, non-profit" way to run things. If you are in "assisted living" they now want to charge for the food to be delivered. If your are unable to get to the dining room to get your food because you need assistance, how is it OK to charge a fee to deliver the food to these people? I will agee it is a beautiful facility and the grounds are very nice. There are some nice amenities like a beauty salon, a chapel and a Bistro. The Bistro used to be very nice but now the food is not that great and half the time there is nothing in the coolers. I was floored when they charged $3 for one banana. They may put on a nice show when you tour the facility but I say beware. Hopefully, one day it will go back to being run the way St. Mary of the Woods ran it.

Many of the staff are very dedicated and have been there for years but facility is in dire need of improvement. My Mother has been there for over two years and I've seen serious decline in services, I do not recommend them, especially for memory care. There is little to no activities or stimulation and heavy urine smell.

Once he was in and we got our first bill, we asked about the credit. We were told it was only available to permanent residents (info conveniently withheld when we moved him in). My father ended up staying through September 2019. In July we were told that my father automatically became a permanent resident 30 days after move in. There is a $1500 move-in fee for permanent residents and they decided to charge us. We asked for the $2,000 credit but were told that we would only be getting the July referral promo credit which was sadly reduced to $1,000. We explained that the May credit was $2,000 and we requested it back then several times but were denied it. They refused to give us the other $1,000. Upon telling them we were leaving and serving out our 30 day notice, they failed to shower my father for almost two full weeks. My father begged for a shower and finally asked for my intervention. I called and demanded a shower that day but it still took three more days before he got one. Meanwhile a rash he had worsened. He was humiliated having to go down to the dining room and sit at tables with others while he smelled badly (he has issues with both urinary and mild fecal incontinence sometimes), and looking unkempt. He skipped several meals because he was embarrassed. When I called the director, Russell Elmore, about this and asked that we be credited on the final bill for showering services and some meals, and I recorded the call, he apologized and said that he would find a way to reduce the final bill. He also said he'd look into the referral bait-and-switch. He told me he'd call me in a few days. Thereafter he failed to return my phone calls and emails. I've been getting bills with late fees attached as I await a promised adjustment that is never going to come. Even when I told him I was reporting him to various agencies etc. he didn't care. Run from this place! There are so many other facilities to choose from. We had a terrible experience here with more than just the director. The care coordinator, Carol McCarthy, is awful. In six months there we never had a single meeting about my dad's care. She canceled the only one we did have and never rescheduled. She knew about my dad not having a shower and still took days to get him one. I could go on and on. Just take your loved one somewhere else.

I cannot recommend Rae Ann Suburban…read more FACILTIY: The shared rooms are tiny. There is room for two beds with two chairs and that's it. They have a small rolling bed table that's nearby that has to hold all of their stuff as well as have space for them to eat. There is not nearby table for them to have things nearby, and most of these people are there for rehab, so they can't easily move around. There is a nice courtyard in the center of the building, if you can find someone to unlock it. THERAPISTS: The Therapists were great. They worked well with all of the patients. They cared about them getting better. She had two (2) sessions per day, and they were always happy to give her some water to take back to her room NURSING CARE: My mother went here after being in the hospital recovering from covid. They NEVER gave her water. She would ask for water, and they would tell her that someone else would bring it. I'm not sure why this is such an issue. At the very least, they can give them water with each meal. The only time she got water was from the Therapists. They left her sitting on the toilet for 45 min (even though she had pulled the cord for assistance), and when the came to get her, she passed out for a few minutes from the effort to stay sitting on the toilet that long. They should never leave a patient sitting on a toilet alone. They didn't give them water, they didn't care if they ate, and they didn't spend any time with them. I was visiting and they came to take her dinner tray away, but they had never given her a tray to begin with. I wonder if I hadn't been there, if she just wouldn't have been fed, because they would've assumed someone else already took her tray. They did come back about 20 minutes later with a tray with a dry cheese sandwich. They later switched from feeding them in their rooms to have them go to the dining room, but didn't tell the residents, so my Mom got no food that day. WHAT?? They said she had to let them know to bring food to her room. What? If she hasn't eaten, you need to feed her. It's a basic need. I live far away from the facility, but when I did visit each week. I tried to leave her food and drinks, so that she would have something, if they didn't give her any food. I also tried to bring in a meal with me, since I know they didn't give her much to eat. She ended up being taken to the hospital via ambulance from Rae Ann Suburban. She was dehydrated and her electrolytes were all out of balance. They had to give her THREE (3) bags of Potassium and Magnesium to get her back to normal, plus she had a UTI. They attributed this to the dehydration. I was actually grateful that she was at the hospital, because they gave her food and water multiple times per day. If she didn't order food, a "house tray" was sent to her room automatically, or they called to check on her. Thankfully, she recovered at the hospital, and we were able to send her to a different rehab center from there. She got great care there and is now back home. I'm scared to think what would have happened, if she had stayed at Rae Ann Suburban. Someone needs to look into their care, because water and food are basic needs that everyone should get without having to plead for it.
