The written job estimate was detailed and included a few additional items I requested in writing. Communications were professional with the office (Becky) and field staff (Hayden) and assurances were given to get my job on the calendar as soon as possible. The installation crew worked diligently to complete our one story ranch house roof in one day. We were very satisfied with the installation and cleanup. The shingles were true to the brochure photos and were a perfect match for the color of our house. Hayden performed a final walk around and we agreed to a few minor installation tweaks for completion. We love our new roof and highly recommend A1 Roofing in Aberdeen, WA.

Moss remained on portions of the roof, a shingle was knocked loose, the roof treatment was insufficient, and the gutters were not cleaned as agreed. What disappointed me most was that there was no quality review or follow-up by management to confirm the work had been completed properly or to obtain my approval before considering the project finished. A-1 offered to return and redo the work. However, when a service falls this far short of the agreed scope, I believe either a different crew should be assigned or a refund should be offered. I was no longer comfortable having A-1 continue with the project. I hired another company to complete the same scope of work. They performed the work thoroughly and professionally. After seeing the condition of my roof, they commented that A-1 should not have charged me for work that was not completed. If you choose to hire A-1, I recommend requesting a thorough quality inspection at the conclusion of the job and providing final approval only after verifying that all work in the proposal has been completed. I also recommend questioning the requirement for a 50% down payment, as the company appears to have minimal upfront material costs for this type of service.

I knew we had some trees that were in poor shape, plus we have a heritage fruit orchard and I needed a professional opinion on bringing the orchard back to life. Nathan was prompt & professional--he even came out the same day to do an initial walk-thru of the property and agree on the initial scope of work. A week later he & his crew made quick work of removing 7 dead/dying trees, trimming back several others, and discussing next steps for orchard management. Reasonably priced, friendly and respectful of my property. Plus, Nathan's sense of humor was a nice touch, too!

We needed a base of red rock to keep the stone in place due to the sandy soil which we were grateful for. The owner, Fred, actually cares about his reputation and came to the site, to physically walk the job with his team on start day. Not sure where get hired this group of men; again impressed! Evan, Billy, Mike, and Shaun were very professional, polite, and were informative of their products and the process to grade and lay the stone. Our fence had to be removed to allow for equipment and it was properly reinstalled! They laid the rock and soil per plan, so that we can have a low-maintenance yard with a patch of grass for the furry kids-looks just like the diagram created. We're extremely happy! What a transformation from construction site to home site! I can't wait for the neighbors to see how nice it looks and not being the "Black-Eye" on the block. Many thanks and would highly recommend working with Fred, Evan, Billy, Mike, and Shaun again!!!!

The inspection report stated that there "might be leaks" around the vents and I decided to be safe rather than sorry. I took 3 bids to tear entire thing down, replace plywood as needed, replace the 2 skylights and 12 vents and install a 40-year roof. I ended up going with Pacific Capital Construction and could not be happier. Sean, the owner, and I struck up a rapport pretty much from the get-go and I feel more like a neighbor took good care of my home rather than just a company slapping a roof on the place. His crew manager, Joel, was great, too. There'd been some rot in the plywood, as expected, where the vents had let in the elements. The crew showed up on time, worked a solid day, and entire job was completed in less than 2! Even with 6 boards replaced, it was still cost-effective. Especially for a 40-year roof and a 10-year workmanship guarantee! Note that the three bids I received were all from the same supply manufacturer, so all offered the same materials. Despite being a small business, Pacific Capital still underbid the 2 larger roofers by $2k and $4k. I made the right choice in going with Pacific Capital Construction!
