Our flights were delayed to and from Reno and they were able to accommodate with pick up and drop off times. We really appreciated the great service and time from Corbin and his team. Corbin picked us up and dropped us off at the airport with ease and was even kind enough to share some local recommendations. We selected the jeep and although it didn't snow during our stay, we felt safer and happy that it drove incredibly smooth and was easy for my boyfriend to drive given that neither of us have jeeps. There was no explanation, no apology, and absolutely no effort to provide an alternative vehicle or help us find another option. We planned our family trip around having this rental, so arriving and finding out that our confirmed reservation simply no longer existed was incredibly frustrating and disruptive. If you're relying on a reservation for an important trip, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. A reservation made weeks in advance should mean something, and Budget completely failed to honor ours.

They will send you an email notating all the dings scratches scrapes dirt before you take it. DO NOT take it otherwise. (3) the tires were good. (4) I suggest coming early for better options I rented from alamo previously in seattle and those guys were what's up. The entire story is too long and complicated to put into a review, and there was so much shady, contradictory behavior that I wouldn't even know where to start. I was repeatedly told things by Avis employees, both in person and through customer service, only to have the story change later. And when I asked them to send me IN WRITING what they were telling me, suddenly they couldn't do that. They would say something like "We cannot email anything. Our email department handles all emails." Or if you ask for explanation in person they will tell you "Ma'am as I said, I cannot see the reservation in full. All I can do is complete it and it says you owe X amount of money." At one point, my rental car was essentially being held hostage at the airport while I stood there arguing over charges and things I had been told that simply were not true. Ultimately, I had to pay just to get my car and leave. And apparently that still wasn't enough. After I returned home, Avis charged me an ADDITIONAL $250 for a fee I did not authorize and do not believe I legitimately owed. The charge was buried behind obscure coding/abbreviations that gave me no reasonable way of even knowing what I was supposedly being charged for. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, and Avis fought the dispute -- so after this entire nightmare, I am now being held responsible for another $250. Their customer service throughout this ordeal -- both in person and online -- has been astonishingly rude, dismissive and unhelpful. Trying to get a straight answer is nearly impossible. Trying to get them to put what they are telling you in writing is even harder. The most disturbing part of this experience isn't even the money. It is the complete lack of transparency and the realization that I simply could not trust what I was being told. If you enjoy being given conflicting information, arguing over unexplained charges, being told things verbally that no one will put in writing, paying just to get your rental car released to you, and then discovering additional mysterious charges after you get home -- have fun. I will NEVER rent from Avis again. Photograph everything. Save everything. Record everything Screenshot everything. Get absolutely everything you possibly can in writing. Although most of what they tell you, they will refuse to put in writing. So record conversations. Or get ready to owe money. Buyer beware.

As always with National, the experience to get my car was easy and pleasant - clean cars and friendly staff. But, what stood out today was the return experience. I commented to the attendant that the windshield needed to be scrubbed - there was a lot of dried tree sap on the fromt windshield that made it very difficult(/impossible to see when driving west at the end of the day. I told them this because I wanted to make sure the car was safe for the next renter. To my happy surprise, the attendant discounted the rental rate. I did not ask for that or expect it / but I wasn't going to turn it down! It may have cost them a few dollars today - but this was a very smart business move by National.... They'll continue to get my rental car business when I travel!

Don't rent from Dollar or Hertz!…read more First of all, I've stopped renting from Hertz bc it is the worst rental company of all of them and should have gone out of business a couple years ago. What I didn't know until it was too late was Hertz had bought Dollar; so it sucks even worse than Hertz. We were going to Lake Tahoe for a ski trip and snow was forecasted during the time we planned to be there. So I searched for an AWD rental. Dollar had an enticing price if I prepaid for the rental. So I did. Unlike most rentals at other airports, there is no direct pickup of the car in the garage even though I had checked in online prior to arrival as the text msgs from Dollar kept asking me to. I still had go to the counter to check in. There were 3 agents at the counter with 3 other customers in line in front of me. It took 45 mins before I was able to reach the counter. The agents operated as if they couldn't care less about the long line of waiting customers. When I finally got to the counter, I was told apathetically by the old man that like he had told 2 other customers in front of me that they didn't have any AWD or SUV like what I had paid for. The only thing available was a lower class and much cheaper Chevy Malibu. When I expressed my disbelief and frustration he simply leaned back and crossed his arms and asked: "so do you want the car or not?" Of course I had no choice but to take it. I made inquiry to Dollar customer service after my trip as to when I'd get my refund. They responded by acknowledging that I got a lower grade rental and offered me a $50 Dollar gift certificate good for 6 months. They coyly avoided saying they wouldn't issue a refund when I repeatedly ask whether I will get one. All they would say was they have mailed me a gift certificate. They have the worst service attitude I've ever encountered and this is clearly an intentional bait-and-switch practice by Dollar. Don't be the next victim of their fraudulent practices.

The line moved quickly and we only had to wait about 5 minutes. They had a similar car in size to what we had on our reservation, which was great! We were given a Kia Sportage which was in great condition and was a 2025 model and only had 16,000 miles on it. We had a great time driving the car around and seeing all of Tahoe. The return to the airport was really smooth, we just dropped the keys into a Dropbox since we were leaving the car prior to when the desk opened. We would use thrifty again if we need another rental car while going to Tahoe!

Because of their negligence, we were left completely stranded in the middle of the night and had to shell out $130 for an Uber just to get to Incline Village. The poor service didn't stop there: Empty Promises: The agent took down our phone number and promised they would call us the next morning to resolve the issue. They never called. Refusal to Help: When we followed up, they claimed there was no way they could deliver the car or come pick us up from our location. Ruined Trip: Being stranded without the transportation we paid for put a massive damper on our vacation, as we couldn't get around Lake Tahoe as planned. Thrifty displayed zero accountability, atrocious customer service, and total disregard for prepaid customers. They should absolutely make this right and refund our costs, but given how terribly this was handled, I doubt they care enough to fix it. Avoid this location at all costs!
