Their customer service needs improvement. Called the "local" phone number on the business card and it was their main number, requested to speak with local office and they transferred to a call center, not able to speak to a local office representative. Called Avis 4 times each time the representatives could not answer my questions, were rude and could not verify if there was a drop box available. Went to location and No drop box available. Hours of operation are very limited on weekends. Better to rent from their competitor, Enterprise. read more

I typically leave positive reviews. This felt like a scam and like the people were not in communication with one another at all. I called beforehand to get information about my situation in detail just to be asked for more sensitive information and multiple cards. I wish I could give zero stars. Our experience started out good, we got the vehicle quickly, customer service was nice, we drove to our destination and turned the vehicle in with no issues. Now, weeks later, we receive an email stating there was windshield damage to the car, and that we owe an additional $640 for a new windshield. They are stating they have pictures. The window was not damaged or cracked at all when we turned in the car. The rep at the location where we turned it in at looked over the car and said we were good. They are trying to scam us! I will be fighting this, and will NEVER rent through Avis/Budget again. read more

I got stuck on a train trip to Reno, leaving from Fresno on Amtrak it was delayed for over an hour due to an accident, then went to Stockton, to put you on the bus, and then on to another bus in Sacramento, to finally get to Reno I gave up at Stockton. We were able to get an Avis Rent-A-Car very reasonable and drove it to Reno. It was such a fair price we were going to get one from enterprise they wanted $43 for the car and $395 a drop off he taking it to Reno I could not believe that!!! Oh my gosh!!!!!! So I was having a horrible time after arriving with 4 giant suit cases, one giant duffle, two carry-ons and two children at the Reno/Tahoe Int. Airport, but that's another review. But, I finally made it out of the airport and to the rental location where my day started to get worse. Some how my reservations were not what I thought I had set up. But, the clerk, who was so super awesome, told me that she was going to help me and try and make my day better. Well folks, she did!!!! She was absolutely awesome. So friendly, personable and extremely helpful! Who knows, we may even become FB friends, hahaha! I am so glad that she was able to solve the problems that had occurred with my original rental and will definitely choose Avis again just because of her. These people are a joke. Zero professionalism or customer service skills whatsoever. Be aware the gas policy is $10 a gallon if you don't fill it up yourself. I was in a very tight situation and in a rush and didn't see the $10 a gallon on the contract and they neglected to mention anything about it. Never using them again. Actually it was super easy and convenient. Staying at the Atlantis, booked online and half an hour I was in the car. The lady in the front desk was super helpful. Fail. Made a reservation online the day before so handing me a filthy car with literally no gas is completely unacceptable. Took 20 minutes to check out and empty gas light went on RIGHT AFTER leaving parking lot. Exterior was filthy, and the interior was just as bad. Multiple candy wrappers and long hair littered the car. Greasy child smudges all over the passenger windows and a clearly visible layer of dust on the dash. I won't describe the stench of body odor from the previous driver that transferred to my clothes. If I didn't have a business meeting to drive to, I would never have accepted this, and would never recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

The clown that runs this branch also has the one on Marietta Way in Sparks. His name is Douglas Brizuela and he is dishonest, irresponsible and not the typical Avis rental agency. The car I rented had garbage under the seat, was not full of gas when I rented it and had no windshield washer fluid. I asked that he call me to resolve my issues. Never heard from him. Two days later a charge of $20 bucks shows up on my charge card. I went to the counter and was told it was for fuel. However, the car was full when I turned it in and the girl indicated on the closing statement the tank was "full." I called Avis Corporate to file a formal complaint and was refunded my $20. I've also asked them to initiate a fraud investigation of this agency as this has happened before at this location. read more

I rented a vehicle from Phoenix AZ the lady and I had a miscommunication about the drop off location SHE TRIED TO CHARGE ME AN EXTRA 500$ then what the agreement was. The women in phoenix was rude and not helpful. DOUGLAS called her location and got the price down at an affordable rate. If it weren't for him I would have driven 740 miles back!!! for this rental to be affordable for me. Do Not Rent A Car from here! They will add $40 more fees to your bill than are quoted online. They will point at a sign blaming the Reno airport. When returning a car make sure it is filled to the brim. I bought gas at the Arco which is less than a mile away. The pump kept popping off that it was full. It, however, did not show full in the car and the guy who took the car in stated that it was $9.98 a gallon. I said fine for $10 I won't take the car back to Arco. However, when he gave me the receipt, it was for almost $40 more again.. He said that I couldn't take the car back to get gas nor could he change it since it was closed out. This was a lie just like the previous lie. In the end, the rental car cost almost $80 more than the quote online. Do not rent from here. read more

Usually I go to Enterprise Car rental and have never had a glitch with renting cars. When I went in I saw their gas package and inquired about it. They said it was a great deal and i thought so too on the thought that it'd be one less thing to worry about. Well I thought they had added that to the contract and they had said they were moving so they'd be closed and moving across the street. I had asked them previously about what to do because I didn't know when my car would be out of the shop and they said when I brought it back they'd adjust it if I went over the two days. Well I went over by two days and the weekly charge had been stated to be only 380 so I wasn't too worried about the cost. To my disbelief I got an email saying I owed 700 and it had only been 4 days. When I inquired about why the cost was so high they told me they charged me 200 for gas and that the cars daily price went up. Mind you if I had rented the car for a week and a half the price would make a lot more sense but the fact that I specifically asked about if it's easier to just fill it up or Pay a little extra for the fuel package and then to think I paid for it and I didn't is very unsatisfactory. I'll never go here again. I'd honestly rather walk or taxi than deal with this company again. read more

If I could give Avis 0 stars I would. Horrible customer service both in store and through their 800 number. Never was told anything about a hold on my card, then after speaking with someone who claimed to be a supervisor (who was not) they couldn't even tell me what the hold was for and then coped a huge attitude and was rude. I was promised an upgrade at no extra charge, was still charge, was promised a free days rental that would expire in 1 year, was not given. Then when asked about what I was promised, what do you know, they had no record of telling me this. At the end of the day, I will never rent at the facility nor with this company every again.
