0 stars. Car was dirty. Absolutely filthy. Second time this happened as it was dirty the last time we rented. Also not the car we reserved. When we complained about the dirt they said he didn't have other cars. they offered us free gasoline then charged us $150 for fuel when we dropped of. The tank was only 3/4 full when we got it and we turned it in with 1/2 tank. So fuel couldn't have been more than $30 even if we were supposed to pay read more

I have rented from Avis many many times before... But NEVER AGAIN!! ... BEWARE... DEMAND AN INSPECTION WITH SOMEONE BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I rented a car to drive home from Spokane, Wa to Pasco, Wa., 2 hours. I used the express... got into the car(did notice a star on the windshield) thought nothing of it... drove 2 hours, turned in car... and 1 month later recieved a bill for $540.00 dollars!!!!!! They "claim" after "inspection" that I had done it, and the "inspection" before in Spokane it was not there. Total and complete b.s... Never Again!! And the pictures they sent me are a freekin dash warning light... ZERO to do with a windshield... and the second pic shows a large line across the windshield... 1000% not there when I returned the car after 2 hour rental... (the start was still there) read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! I'm visiting my daughter a M d grandkids for Easter. I rented a car online. When I got to Boise ID I was told I can not use my ATM debit card for the $250 deposit. I needed a C.C. so I took the $250 that was in my checking acco UK nt and made a $250 payment t on my C.C to make room for the deposit. Rented the car and returned it the followingday in Pasco. Now on my way home, mind you my daughter lives 3.5 hours from Bosie and 2.5 hours from Pasco. So Here I am a couple days before I leave and I'm being told I can not use my c.c for the deposit without a 2nd form of I.D. . Apparently the 7 cards I have in my wallet with MY name on them doesn't count. And now they refuse to refund my $142 because I didnt cancel the reservation within 24 hours of reservation. I didnt cancel the damn reservation, THEY refused to rent the car to be because I'm told 1 thing in Bosie and the complete opposite in Pasco. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! Arrived at 2:10 pm on a Sunday. 4 people ahead of me to rent a vehicle. One staff member working. This staff member was more concerned of the appearance of the logos on his sports jersey, toque and mask (all support 49ers) than he cared for the customers time. Average time from Hello to receiving the keys for the rental car was 25 minutes! Clearly this individual requires additional training to be efficient at his job. I was given a filthy vehicle and told that they're. It currently cleaning cars. The exterior and interior are filthy- barely see through the windows from the dirt on the inside! There are 10 other vehicles in the assigned rental spots and when I asked if I could trade he filthy vehicle for a different one, I was sternly told "No, there is nothing else available." They upgraded me to a mini suv class because they did not have any intermediates. The whole process was quick and easy. I would give more stars if the service was better but the counter agent looked like he didn't want to be there. No greeting and he spoke so quickly I did not understand what he said. Ok, I normally don't review services like this because let's face it, it's a commodity. Is there really a difference between companies that rent cars that are made by someone else? I sure don't think so...until maybe now. The jerk at the Avis counter charged me for insurance even though I specifically told him that I did not want insurance (I don't want insurance, I'll bring it back full). I see this odd $69.94 charge for my rental this past weekend and called to inquire about it. They told me that I signed the rental agreement (you know, that touch pad where they tell you to click agree a bunch of times) and that in the future, I should read the rental agreement. This is blatant theft. I mean, I normally wouldn't get worked up over a small charge like that, but this is not ok. read more

We rented a minivan for one week at the end of March, 2012. When we picked up the van, they did not do a walk around or explain any of the features despite the fact that it had a new type of ignition I had never seen before. I had to figure it out on my own. We returned the van on time with a full tank. More than 2 weeks later, we receive a letter advising us that we are being charged an extra $150 because "pet hair was found in the rear" of the van. Avis does not have an official pet policy, and they did not give us ANY indication at rental time or return that we could be charged extra for pet hair. The pet was only on the floor of the van for a few minutes one time. Very little hair was left, and what was there should have been removeable with a vacuum. We spoke to the manager but he refused to remove or lower the fee, even though he did not make any claim that the location advised us in advance that pet hair of any amount could result in a fee. Renter beware. You never know what extra charge they might tack on your credit card long after you have returned the vehicle. read more
