Alamo gave my car rental away, stranding me in Orlando with my family for six hours. After…read morecontacting the five or so other rental car providers (who were all sold out), I managed to get out of Orlando in the only car available - a luxury car from a luxury rental that was 40% more, but was also the only way I was going to leave the city. Now, to be fair, I was thirty minutes late to pick up the car, and I imagine somewhere in the terms of service they tell you that Alamo provides you twenty-nine minutes to pick up your car or they will give it away. However, it was not awesome to be stranded in Orlando for six hours when every other car rental was sold out. For something that can be so impactful to families, a company that cares about its customers could send a text or email warning you that they're giving your car rental away. Another way to show you care about customers is to state very clearly -- you have twenty nine minutes to pick up a car rental from Alamo, or they will give your car away. So, to be clear to everyone reading this: You have twenty-nine minutes to pick up a car rental from Alamo. They will not call you or warn you. You will not know that your car has been given away. They will not be helpful on the phone. I'll never, ever rent from Alamo again.

Suffice it to say, my husband and I spent over 7 hours over three days trying to get our car rental reserved. We'd be guaranteed a vehicle and then, an hour later, be told it wasn't stock, we'd redo the reservation at another location and . . . Wait, I did just state that I wasn't going to go into all of the details, right? Right. Let's just say that by the time I drove to the Orlando airport to pick up the car, we were exhausted. "We" mainly being ME. Though my husband was irritated, I was somewhat further down the spectrum. Enter Agent Abdo. Are you kidding me with this guy? Soft spoken, professional, kind, magazine-quality smile. "Can I help you" is a phrase all too often used by folks who have no intention of ever helping you. They're just there to watch the clock till lunch. Not Abdo. He was so personable and willing to help in whatever way he could. While countless customer service agents, three supervisors, one district manager and, probably, a partridge in a pear tree, couldn't come up with a solution, Mr. Abdo came up with three right there on the spot. Not only was I NOT told it couldn't be done, I was told I had options. Abdo went so far and above with me and my husband that I just had to write. We all somehow find our voice when it's time to complain but we need to remember to use that same voice - just as loudly - when someone steps up to help. Thank you, Abdo. You wouldn't let me buy you lunch or anything, so I hope someone does something really nice for YOU today.

I had an emergency situation and requested a tow/pickup service from this rental company. I later…read morecanceled or no longer needed the service, but I was charged several hundred dollars in fees. I tried contacting customer service multiple times to explain the circumstances and ask for some leniency or a reduced fee, but I did not receive a helpful response. I understand companies have policies, but I was disappointed by the lack of communication and compassion in handling the situation. I hope they improve customer support and work with customers more fairly during emergencies.

I have used Avis Rental for years. Majority if of the time if not all the time, they have always…read moreprovided excellent customer service. I utilized this location for a recent rental, and it was the worst decision I made. I spoke with Babak who provided me the information details regarding the rental and the keys to the vehicle. He was friendly and at the time seemed to give all the information that would be billed. After I returned the vehicle a few days later I received the final receipt. I was charged with $75.00 miscellaneous charge to my account. My fiance called to question what the extra charge was, and he first said we picked up the vehicle late. She explained that it was not late it was a new reservation. He changed his explanation and then stated it was for the tolls. She again explained that we paid extra for the tolls which was already billed. He then changed his story for third time and said it was for the cleaning. At this point it became clear he did not know where the charge came from and was naming things off a list. When we asked for a refund of the miscellaneous charge, he became rude over the phone did not want to explain anything as he ran out of excuses. This location obviously has no respect for their customers, and will charge hidden costs without proper explanations. I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM USING THIS LOCATION FOR ANY SERVICES. I will be contacting Avis Corporation for a follow up regarding this location.
