The journey that lead us there was not a…read morepleasant one, but we were happy with the service we received and would recommend National for car rentals. We were in Toronto during the time when there were protesters (opposing the Coastal GasLink pipeline in British Columbia) blocking the rail lines near Belleville, ON. We were supposed to go back to Ottawa by train, but all trains between Toronto and Ottawa were cancelled because of the protests (it was early on in the protests, so cancellations were made day by day, later on, cancellations were made farther in advance). We had to get back to Ottawa that day. Same day airfare was exorbitant. We learned of our cancellation at 8am, by that time all Greyhound buses departing Toronto for Ottawa that day were sold out. Our only choice was to rent a car and drive back ourselves. Fortunately, the weather was clear. We initially went to the National Car Rental location on Wellington St, since it was the closest to our hotel. When we arrived, the lady there told us that they had no cars! Their entire fleet was rented and out. We asked her if she could check the Billy Bishop Airport location, which she did and told us they had cars. We then asked her to reserve a car for us, which she did and wrote down the reservation number for us. Then we hightailed it to Billy Bishop. When we arrived, the place was packed with customers. It's a small kiosk in the middle of a parking lot. The man serving us was friendly and efficient. We explained to him what had happened at the Wellington St location and he found our reservation and processed the rental. It was a Sunday and most of their locations in Ottawa closed early. We had to work on Monday and didn't want to worry about having to return the rental in the morning, so we opted to return the car the same day to the only location in Ottawa opened late on Sunday: the Ottawa Airport location. I'm pretty sure you pay a premium to pick up and drop off at airports, and to drop off in a different city because it cost us around $265 for the same day rental (I think it's only like $50 for same day car rentals at other locations as long as you bring it back to the same place). Oh well, we were just happy to find a way home that wasn't going to cost us close to $1000 (the going rate for airfare that day). The process was quick and easy. Although we did not receive the rental agreement by email like they said we would. We only received something from National after we had returned the car to the drop off location. The Billy Bishop Airport location is completely paperless, so everything is digital there. Anyway, the car was in good condition. Although this location at Billy Bishop Airport does not have any water, so they cannot clean the outside of the car. Winters in Canada means dirty cars covered in salt, so the outside of the car was kind of dirty. Something to keep in mind if you are picking up a car here in the winter. Also since it's a small kiosk, if there are a lot of customers, you will be standing outside while waiting in line, also something to think about in the winters, lol. We received a courtesy voicemail and email from the Assistant Branch Manager the day after to follow up on our experience, which I thought was nice. Overall, we had a very good experience with National. We would rent from them again.

I stopped into this Enterprise during my trip to Toronto back in December (12/17/2018). They were…read morethe only location left with any vehicles, and they had reasonable rates. I booked a standard economy vehicle to take to Niagara Falls for the day. Usually, an Economy car is classified as a Volkswagen Jetta or similar. In my mind, I thought, "oh maybe a Nissan Sentra or something." The reason being the last few times I have gotten a Nissan Sentra with Enterprise and had no issues. I was surprised when I got to the Enterprise because first, they showed me a small red car - which no offense looks like a vehicle you would give a kid who just got their permit. I thought maybe a Sentra or even an SUV. While the associate was helping me suddenly stated, " I'm so sorry my manager just told me I actually could not give you an SUV because you do not meet the age requirement." This statement was odd because I have also rented SUVs from Enterprise in the past and had no issue. Maybe it is a difference between Canadian and American Enterprise policy? So I was then given the little red car which was a Nissan Micra. Because of the time and what not that was taken up, he was kind enough to give me a discount on the rental because the Micra is similar to a Mirage, which is a tiny car. Although the rental was not ideal for shopping and bringing stuff to and from Niagara Falls, it got us from Point A to Point B which is all that matters. Finding the location can be difficult, I think I went in circles twice trying to find the Enterprise - but returning the vehicle is no issue.

Last time I was at this Enterprise, I arrived about 10 minutes before closing time and I asked if they would have a cargo van. The gentleman, whose name escapes me, helped me and a bunch of other customers way beyond closing hours and even offered me a discount for the van, as I was only renting the van for half a day. There's something really special about any place that takes care of their customers they way the guys at this enterprise location do. Bottom line, when you're looking for a cargo van, forget about places like uhaul, instead come to this place... sure you will pay a bit extra, but it is worth every penny my friends!

This was a really tricky area to get to if you didn't fly into Pearson. There is signage inside of…read morethe airport that directs you where to go but if you're driving to this branch to rent a car (they seem to have more options for drop-offs from this location interestingly enough), it's confusing. The signs from the 409 only tell you were to go to drop-off a previously rented car which is towards departures (you'd think it would be at arrivals right?). Well, this is actually where you want to go to pickup a car as well. So yes, we drove a car here to rent a car since we dropping someone off. There's only one entrance for personal vehicles into the parking structure that houses ALL of the rental car places so it might be a little confusing. There are a lot of entrances that are blocked off so pay attention to the signs and don't drive your car over the road spikes. When you finally get inside, it's a little confusing on where to park because there are a ton of barriers and toll booths. Most of it is only one-way driving. There did end up being parking right outside of the Enterprise area but I have no idea how you actually drive there. At one point we tried calling the desk for directions but no one picked up. The inside where the counters are is actually really nice and modern. We went later at night so there was only one agent working there. The area there is pretty large and there's enough space to socially distance. The compact SUV that was booked online was somehow not available. The agent let us know that he had equivalent ones. This one actually turned out better as they wound up giving us a 2020 Mazda CX-3, AWD for that winter driving, with only 20km on it! It came complete with new car smell and was very clean on the inside. It also had some great features that were good for driving long distances with a digital infotainment system that can connect to your phone through Bluetooth/USB/etc. I'm not sure if all of their cars have these types of features in mind but definitely ask as they were super convenient. The entire process (minus finding out how to get there) took less than 10 minutes. Super easy process and so happy with the quality of the car that we got!

To make matters worse, we had no choice but to pay for a taxi to our hotel in the middle of the night because Enterprise failed to provide the car we had reserved. I will never book with Enterprise again and would strongly advise others to think twice before relying on them.
