I arrived at 5pm for a 5pm reservation. The place was deserted so they clearly left early. I've relied upon this location for years, but it's going downhill under new management. Two cars ago I had to make a detour and drop a car off in Baltimore because of mechanical issues (that car was also dirty). I'll find a new rental car service (there is one in Keyport). read more

I was able to go online to apply for a rental. I called immediately after and spoke to a woman who said All I needed was my driver's license and a credit card. She didn't mention any fees, she didn't mention any hold on the credit card, she didn't mention anything about a credit check. I spent $40 to Uber to this location and when I got there I gave her my license and credit card. She had a mask over her mouth so it was hard to understand her, but she ran three of my credit cards and did not tell me what the fee was. Turns out she tried to charge or put on hold, $375. Then I handed her my debit card and she said that I have to go through a credit check which I did, and I was refused. She gave me no solutions she did not care a single bit and was extremely rude. I had to actually call another Uber to take me home. While I was there in the office there were a few people who were returning cars. One of them was asking why they were overcharged, and she got extremely nasty with them and said it's all broken down. So he called customer service in front of her, and then started to dispute the charges again with this woman. She got angry, and the man left. After people left, they all talked bad about them, with me standing right there. I suggest to never go to this place. Not only are they rude and uncaring, they don't explain charges and charge you extra fees. Run don't walk! read more

Wow, not one to leave terrible reviews but was genuinely blown away by how disrespected we were at this location. I have rented here many times before and had pleasant experiences with Mike but the woman behind the desk made me never want to come back. Just some highlights of the service received below. 1. Generally rude tone with every response, was not even attempting to solve any issue. 2. Woman behind us asked if she could grab the keys as she already filled out her paperwork and was told "learn how to wait your turn". When she went outside to take a phone call and we finished, the woman yelled "I thought you were in a rush, now you are just outside on the phone." 3. Threatened not to rent us the car after she got frustrated with us detailing the payment issue. 4. Told us "I am going to watch you and if I see him driving the car, I will add extra charges to your rental". 5. and the kicker, she was wearing a literal ski mask during this entire interaction. Discussed with the other family renting a car and both concluded we would never be going back. read more

On July 3, I reserved and paid for a car through the Avis website...to be picked up the next morning, on July 4, at the Fort Smith Regional Airport. On the morning of July 4, I went to the FSM airport to pick up my car, but had to stand in line for a while, waiting for 2 people in front of me. When I got to the counter, the Avis rep told me she had no more cars to rent to me. I proceeded to tell her I had a reservation and that I paid for the car, in full. She said she had no record in her system that I had paid, eventhough the amount was deducted from my credit card and I had an email confirmation. She said she still had no cars to rent to me. She only had an electric F150 truck. I told her I had no idea what that meant...but that I needed to be in Tulsa in a couple of hours. So I asked how far I could drive on a single charge with the F150. She said there were only 35 miles left on the charge of the vehicle and that I would have to fully charge it. Considering I had to be in Tulsa in 2 hours, there was NO WAY I had the time to fully charge the car. When I asked her if there were ANY other cars at all, she said she had a couple of vans, but was not allowed to rent them to me. Avis rented me a car in bad faith, because they did not have any available to rent to me. The Avis rep behind the counter said there was nothing she could do, and that I needed to call corporate. She also said that she could not even cancel my reservation...and that I, again, needed to call corporate. Considering that it was the 4th of July, corporate was not open for 3 days! So the rep had ZERO solutions for me...and now, I was without a car. I did end up calling the main Avis number for Avis and spoke with someone to cancel my reservation. He cancelled the reservation and I got an email confirmation. But today, July 23, a week later, I still have not received my refund! Please refund me my $116.99 immediately! read more

I am absolutely appalled by the lack of concern and professionalism here. First of all, they had me waiting for 45 without even so much of an acknowledgement while the only guy behind the counter talked to the dude in front of me not even about his rental car. He gave my second driver a hard time about her license and practically threw it back across the desk at her. Had the nerve to ask, "Do you even still want the car?" What's with the attitude? They gave me a car with bald tires, a broken seatbelt, dry rotted wipers, and rusted brake rotors. The cherry on top was that when I was getting ready to drive home, the battery was dead! When I called Avis, they said that I would have to drive 30 minutes to the airport to get a new car. They wouldn't be coming to help me so long as I could limp the car within 50 miles of an Avis location. If I wasn't, they said I would have had to wait 4-6 hours for roadside assistance!!! It was freezing, raining, and ice. Thankfully I had a family member who was able to jump the car for me, but I shouldn't have to have done that. So, when I finally got to the airport to exchange it, the guy in the garage closed out my transaction instead of entering it as an exchange. We had to wait for HOURS for them to fix the problem in their computer. I ended up missing a day of work because it took all day to resolve and I had to spend extra money to my passenger back on an airplane at the dead last minute. But it gets worse from there! When I bring the car back, as I'm explaining all this, the guy behind the counter isn't even listening. Totally unsympathetic. Not even an, "Oh man, that's not what usually happens." He just shrugged and said, "Sorry about that." He claimed that it wasn't charged, but then I looked at the receipt when I got home and they DID charge me! I had a charge on my credit card, too. So then when I called Avis customer service on the phone, they said I owed THEM $350 for broken glass. I said, "What glass?!" and they couldn't even tell me where it was broken. They essentially said, "Well, just send us photos of the entire car and prove us wrong." Completely unacceptable. Run, do not walk, away from Avis!!!! read more

Vey disappointed in the experience received by the front desk and they ripped me off. I picked up my rental late on a Thursday and was dropping it off on Saturday around the same time. Since the office was closed at that time but before the pick up time I was told I could drop it off prior to open next morning which I did. They hit me with a charge for the extra say that exceeded the cost of the first 2 days. I called to speak to them and they explained that the times on the web were in correct and that I was 10 minutes over the limit. When I asked why the rate for the extra day was so high they had no answer. There are plenty of other options in the area with great client service. I won't be back read more

Honestly garbage. Save yourself the headache and rent from another company. After being assured our car would be able to get us to and from our destination, we broke down on the side of a high way and had to spend an extra $350 to get home. Warning! Should you damaged their vehicle or if the damage is damaged by another driver, or an act of God- they will charge your card for the damage or a new car. The insurance they offer is not insurance and is not regulated by anyone. Should you buy it and file a claim you might not get paid. If you have your own personal insurance, the damage might not be covered unless the rental is listed on your policy or you have a very forgiving insurance company. My advice, renting a vehicle from this company is extremely risky. You could lose your home or end up in debt for years. read more

Completely useless and they treat people like garbage. They want to gouge you for fees. They were not in the least bit accommodating. If you have to change your reservation they will over charge you ridiculous amounts($120 for a day in a Chevy Malibu, it was $38 when I picked it up) and that goes for the corporate offices as well since I took the time to call the toll free number for central reservations. The car was clean and in good shape yet the customer service was the worst I've seen in a while. I hope this location and Avis corporate get their act together because this is a disgraceful way to treat a loyal customer. read more

I have rented from this location on several occasions. They always have your car ready, it's always clean and it's always a good car. Never once had any problem with them. Good service, reasonable wait times and they'll even get you a quick ride to the train station or other nearby location if you need it. read more
