Terrible service! We reserved and prepaid for a car rental online. When we showed up (on time) to pick up the car, we were told there were no cars for us. When we showed our confirmation and reservation messages, we were told reservations are not a promise or reliable. The woman at the desk said we could contact Avis, and would say nothing more. The office is a disgusting dump, and the employee was so rude and unhelpful, refusing to take any responsibility for not having a car when we had reserved, confirmed and paid already for the rental in advance. read more

This pure review is based off Richard. Richard helped my wife 3 weeks ago when she was having issues with her car rental. Richard went above and beyond what he should have done and really hooked it up. Today I called to thank Richard and had additional questions for him. Richard again, like a savior helped me and my wife out. Made a reservation for a vehicle, received 3 confirmation emails. When I arrived, I was told that they were out of vehicles. Despite the fact that they were providing other people vehicles. I questioned the worker about why I was unable to rent a car when it was confirmed and provided the confirmation email. He was rude and dismissive. He also skipped over me in line and went to the people behind me. I lost time and money for gas; as well as a major inconvenience, i was counting on this car. I will never go back. This place sucks. I was dropping off a car that I already paid for, and when I walked in I got zero acknowledgement. I must have waited at least 10 minutes while the guy behind the counter talked to another customer. eventually a second guy came in, finally acknowledged me and took the keys. He checks the car and came back in, then spent another 10 minutes talking to the other customer. The guy behind the counter just stood there and didn't do jack. The guy finally prints out my paperwork and tells me what I owe for the gas (which was a bad idea on my part. I should have filled up myself at the station just around the corner.) I gave him my card and he said he already had my car on file from when I ordered the car in the first place. So I waited 20 minutes just for a piece of paper? Total waste of time. read more

ZERO STARS!!! Avis should shut this place down!! The place is a dumpy, terribly run excuse for a rental shop. Guy at the counter's attitude is the worst. He mistakenly charged my card for someone else's reservation for over 200 dollars instead of a one day-70 dollar rental. No apologies, just said the pending charge shouldn't go through and I should call Avis to fix this! My rental car also had a unbalanced tire which shook on the highway. I really can't remember having a more terrible experience within the last calendar year than with this Budget location. I rented a car to go from Oklahoma to Connecticut on 3/27/17. The girl in Oklahoma was pleasant and I made the drive in less than two days, getting going Monday around 4 and with 3-4 hours of sleep, got to CT at roughly 7:30 and dropped the car off Tuesday, 9-9:30p. NO KEY DROP. Awesome. Late, tired, heavy drizzle. Walked 3.2 miles back to where I was staying, near bunnell high, in shorts and flip flops. Kinda cold, fairly wet, very tired. Beat, actually. Got there the next morning at 10:27a. Met with a kid working there who was adamant about getting the receipt, and filling the tank with gas. I was sure the girl said don't worry if you bring it back empty, which i did. Went next door and filled it up to the tune of about 37.06. Drove to get the receipt, came back, sure enough, paid for a tank of gas on the receipt. Wanted reimbursement, he seemed lost. No manager to be found. Total was $100 MORE than the three days the original charge was for. Told him I had it for two days. Regional manager woman came from somewhere, magically, as did the manager from Fairfield (?) and she looked the receipt over. They tried to charge me for the hour difference in time zones. JUST shy of the cost of a day of renting the car. Getting aggravated. Says she'll take off that hour, plus adjust the almost $200 in extraneous fees, to reflect two days of rental (but not adjust the rental amount from three days to two, though) VERY smug and obstinate. I leave to go use the toilet where I was staying, as I think I got two or three hours of actual sleep after laying down and my stomach was shot, along with my nerves, from three red bulls in 24 hours. Came back with the receipt once I realized she hadn't actually done anything to make the amount reflect the time I had the car. Super aggravated now. Went back, the guy who washes and vacuums the cars was the only person to be found. What a fantastic human being!!! Going to school to be a professor with a doctorate in business! AND I believe a Muslim, (so screw all of you who think muslims are evil, this man may as well have been Gandhi as a Harvard graduate), a true pleasure to speak with. Unfortunately, he is limited in what he can do for me, but I got the feeling he was sympathetic to my plight. Feeling a lot better now. Enter; Fairfield manager once again. Looks over the receipt, immediately tells me how great of a discount she gave me, and if he were me, he'd "just take it and be happy with it." SUPER pissed now (guy's name was "ish", you know, like how you say the word "sh*t" in mixed company? Coincidence between the irony of the "customer service" he was "full of" and "providing"?) So, back to the regional manager. She's contacted by ish, to return and deal with me. He tells me she's already making her rounds of locations for the day, or week, whatever, she's left the place she left this place for, and Ian en route to the next. I elect to sit and wait for her. Now, ish was what I can only describe as a VERY sleazy sales manager of a hole in the wall used car lot. A shifty yes-man, as it were, whatever to get you to sign, and get you out the door, kind of guy. Meanwhile, he tells another customer at the counter he seemed to have some rapport with, that the couple walking up now, already had their card declined in Fairfield and watch as he declines them again, met with a chuckle from both sides of the counter. I was shocked at the "professionalism" and empathy. I also was surprised, as a manager, that rather than elect to state the card "did not go through", he told them simply that it was declined which has a much less pleasant and derragatory connotation. After an hour and a half, maybe more, I don't really know, I was just pissed, basically just pure hate for these two was driving me on. After that time waiting, I made my third call since dropping the car off the night before, to customer service. THIS time, a woman by the name of Cynthia, (the namesake of my evil ex, ironically enough), answered the issue with seemingly genuine compassion and understanding and empathy. She told me she sees what was done and that she was going to do more because what the regional manager basically did was nothing. Long story short, (well, kind of), almost $300 was eventually removed from the ORIGINAL bill, and now I'm happy. NEVER deal with this Budget location. (On a side note, as I was leaving, having had my concerns apparently met for the moment, I turned to let ish know what I felt about how he commented on that couple to that other customer. As he began to retort, I simply turned and left. RIGHT as I was about to pull away, I parked the car, went back in, and shook the detailer's hand, letting him know what a pleasure it was to meet him, and that I wished him good luck wherever he went. Except for that guy, ATROCIOUS experience, I will NEVER use that location again. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experience in my life. The employee I came in contact with was rude and dismissive . I came in 3 minutes before closing time and apologized, trying to explain that I had a family emergency and was in desperate need of a car. The response I got from the employee was "I'm out" without even picking his head up to look at me. I will NEVER rent from Avis as long as I live. read more

I would NOT recommend this place. Prices were ok. The person that helped me was very unfriendly and didn't even seem to care. I booked a vehicle 30 days in advance and arrived 15 minutes before my appointment. I was told the vehicle I reserved was not there and should take a smaller one. When I told him that wasn't possible he had the correct vehicle brought there and I had to wait almost an hour. Shouldn't the proper car be there since I reserved it so far in advance? And the gentleman was not apologetic at all. Bad way to do business. read more
