I bought a car here and have only had problems since. Do not recommend, and if you do consider a vehicle here please look into it and ensure there's someone present who knows about cars, not someone who just sells them. My car has transmission issues, engine issues, and more. It's visually a beautiful car, but there are a LOT of issues internally. Makes me so sad because it's completely ruined the first time car buyer experience. Car salesmen I was working with told me "if you want a car that has all that fancy stuff, go to a dealership." after I asked about why there were no air caps on the tires, no mats in the car, less than half a tank of gas and whether or not they could fill it (drove in from Central Texas), and if they clean the cars. :( read more

This place supposedly sells "certified" cars! I bought a car drove it back to CA and the tires got messed up due to the alignment being off (I texted the car salesman when I was driving back. My paperwork had 40 less miles on it when I picked up the car, which can only mean workers are giving purchased client cars and messing up the cars! Bunch of liars, they just say our cars are "sold as-is" lol how is the car "certified" with a messed up alignment? No one answered this question. Avoid this dealer! read more

I wish I read these reviews before purchasing from them. When I bought my vehicle, it was dirty and no make-ready was done on it. It had 47,000 miles on it and my husband checked the oil when I got home and the air filter and he said it looks like the car had never been serviced or oil been changed ever. I told them they needed to change my oil. They did at no charge, but with a lot of inconvenience on my end. A day into having my car, the seat starts squeeking and won't stop. Now my brakes are making very loud noises and when I text the salesman he said to take it to Nissan dealer. The GM snuck in a fee of $499 on top of the sale of the car for some kind of bogus "paint protection" plan. He deceived me. I do not recommend you buy a car from this place. read more

I was given a price list for the vehciles on inventory at Avis Car Sales on Saturday 24 Feb. The day I bought the car Tuesday (28 Feb) it as $2000 more that the price list I was working from and given on Saturday. I spoke with the manager and he just said that happens sometimes. Very disappointed in how the price was changed on the day I purchaed the vehicle. read more

Wife and I purchased 2019 Nissan Rogue with 35,000 miles at this location. The sales rep was Fred and sales manager was Steve. The whole process was about 3-4 hours but mostly waiting on paperwork. Easy test ride , they took copy of license and let us go and come back. The car was at a fixed price of $15.5K, which was a good deal as most dealers wanted $16k-$18K. So the total was $17.5K out the door: taxes, registration, docs and ... etc. I paid $2.5k with credit card on Saturday and took the car home. I came back the next Monday to pay off the difference with a cashier check and while I was there they inspected the car to completed registration ,which took 20 minutes, and that was it. The car is still under Nissan's warranty and Avis also has a 12month or 12,000 miles warranty too. I would buy a car from them again. read more

They force me to have a soft inquiry to be able to see and drive the car, because is over $30k, and if not you will not see or drive the car, but guess what, I set the appointment for 10/25 at 10:30 am at the Austin Downtown location and i received several messages confirming my apt, the last one just around 20 minutes before and when i called the location to verify the appointment the said I do not have the truck in stock. Starting off with the 1 star they are getting from me is a lie, I only chose 1 because I couldn't start writing until I chose 1, Just know, if I could, I would give them no stars at all. I didn't even get to actually buying a car. Which is a good thing, however, the experience I had with this particular location was completely unacceptable. It is a sad reality that car salesman (women included) don't PRACTICE "Good business Practices" and the general public is just supposed to accept this, or look the other way. I dealt with 2 individuals (who both say that they were just the car salesman, that answer the front desk phone). Neither one of these 2 gentlemen were helpful in an humanely ethical manner, because I questioned a few flaws in their, hidden agendas to maximize profit off of my hard earned wages. I was treated as if I my money was not welcomed with this company. Another sad reality is that, I can't say without lying, that I'm a bit surprised, that in 2021, these stereotypes are still being practiced and exercised in businesses as big as AVIS. I was lied to about the vehicles physical condition, and the pricing for the vehicle. I don't even wish to spend my hard earned wages with this company even when renting vehicles. Do they need my money? Absolutely not, Will this change anything with the company, and how they conduct good business ethics? I would surely hope so, but I won't hold my breath. And that is up to YOU all (the customer ) who reads this and other reviews like this looking for a place who stands behind the product they are selling, and are not just focused on how much money I can try to make off people in a sale. BUYER BEWARE! If you should decide to purchase a vehicle from Avis Car Sales in San Antonio (Live Oak), TX be sure and know you are purchasing a FLEET vehicle. We purchased a vehicle and found out because it is classified as a FLEET vehicle by the car maker the vehicle does not have all of the features we expected were available on this level of car. All the sales guy needed to do was notify the car maker the car has been sold and in 3-5 business days the car would be out of FLEET status and whatever features/options the car should have would be available to us the buyer. I cannot even get the sales guy to call me or my husband back. read more

I purchased a car from this place. Although the sales guy Fred Ford was great. The follow up to receive my plates have been terrible. I mean it's bad enough Avis didn't detail my car when it was sold to me. Rude. But then to be hung up on by a guy named Joseph because he was too lazy to check the status of my registration paperwork. He didn't even ask the make and model of the vehicle. Didn't ask my name or even ask his manager for help. I even gave him the name of my sales guy and still so resolutions. It's been 90 days and finally revive a call back. Keep in mind I had to call the general Avis customers service get a hold of the region manager named Geoff. Mike tells me; the dmv did close for a while and when they opened back up and processed the registration forms Mike submitted the inspection was expired. Apparently it expired during the time the DMV closed. So now I have to bring my car back to get an inspection. Waste another hour dealing with this rookie bull crap sales office all because some one was too lazy to check. Use your brains you guys. It's embarrassing. read more

Recently purchased my first vehicle from this place, thinking id walk out happy and satisfied with the purchase. However, the salesman,quan knowinglysold us a dirty car that was SUPPOSED to be clear and he honestly did not care for the saftey of the car. He only saw an opportunity to sale a car and gain commission. Point blank. The car's tire pressure light was on and I told him that "it should be fixed before leaving". He insisted that ithe car needed air and the light would "turn off"At his failed attempt trying to hide the fact the tire was completely bent he over filled our tires which could've resulted into something dangerous while driving. Luckily I made it home but my car continues to shake while hitting highway speeds. Which the sales man replied by saying "take the car to firestone, and there's nothing we can do". To whoever wants a car from this place even a rental. Go to a place with better reviews, better service, and salesmans that arent snakes and want to take your money.
