The story began when my UHaul reservation was completely changed without my consent a day and a half prior to my move from Mtl to Ottawa. I was so upset with UHaul service I decided to see if I could find another truck with another renter, this is where I had an amazing experience with Othniel from the Kanata Budget location. He went out of his way to find me a truck last minute, at a good price and guaranteed he would finalize everything before the end of the day, which he did! He found me exactly what I wanted and made the entire experience so pleasant, I can't say enough nice things about Othniel and the service he provided. He is an exceptional employee and I hope his employers know this and keep him at Budget as long as possible. He knows how to treat customers!! Thank you again Othniel!

This Location is for both Dollar and Thrifty, which are the same company I assume…read more I just got back from there (booking with Dollar) , With the most horrible experience ever at a Car Rental. MY whole long weekend plans are now ruined and I had to cancel reservations in Montreal and Quebec because I won't be able to make it. I booked online Friday to Monday, and the location showed I can drop the car and the keys on Monday (the booking went through and I had my confirmation). Today (Friday) when I called to make sure my reservation at 5 were confirmed, the guy answered the phone, said "yeah yeah we're open till 6" and hung up !!!! That was weird to start with.... Me and My friend got there, and waited while The Agency Operator "Osman Abdi" finished his phone conversation. He got my credit card and Driver's License and told me I will have to drop it on Tuesday and pay extra 32$. I told him I have confirmation only till Monday and since they have Camera surveillanced parking lot and key-drop, it shouldn't be a problem like all other companies i've rented from. He told me NO this is not allowed and the car will be charged till Tuesday and the extra day will be the weekday rate not weekend as well. My friend and I got agitated and told him this is not fair and we booked through expedia and this never happened, when he looked at my friend and then at me, told me I don't know who this guy is or what's his problem but i'm not giving you guys any car, get your cards and get out of my store. That was beyond unbelievalbe, I told him There are no other companies available and I want the car I'll deal with it later he said NO YOU'RE NOT GETTING A CAR GET OUT OF MY OFFICE NOW go deal with EXPEDIA. I said you don't want to ruin my whole weekend he said final GET OUT NO CAR FOR you and went to his back office and slammed the door ???!!! I called DOLLAR customer service, after explaining my story, staying on the line for almost an hour with no results, they said no other cars are available, nothing to be done, didn't get any offer for any compensation.. I called Expedia desperate and they apologized for what happened, they tried calling the Dollar/Thrift shop and the guy won't answer although it was still 5:40 , they tried to find us booking through other companies but everything was completely sold out !! and although it was not their fault they gave us 50$ credit for future booking as courtesy... We left completely humiliated, the guy "OSMAN ABDI" is a completely unprofessional and rude person with no business or personal mannerism. IT was a horrible experience that ruined our whole long weekend, with no solution offered from Abdi or Dollar Company.

I asked Priceline for a car rental place near my hotel. I trusted Priceline, which was a mistake, and took a rental from a Hertz at 1478 Merivale. I requested an SUV with a toddler seat near my hotel to pick up a friend and his family. Instead, I got to go on a 20 minute ($45) taxi ride to the car-rental place. And then, when we got there....it didn't exist! So I had to call Hertz - international rates, of course - which informed me the Hertz was at 1916 Merivale. David, the man who worked at Hertz, was sympathetic to my plight, but there was still nothing he could do about what happened or the fact that there were no toddler seats to be had. Still. David let me keep the SUV until the next morning and drop it off at a different location -- no additional charge. And then, days after I got back home, I received a receipt in the mail from Hertz. They had taken $45 off my car rental fee -- when it wasn't even their fault. And I didn't even have to complain. So that's why I give Hertz five stars. I'll always rent from them in the future. David was a real pro, and a very nice guy. Priceline, however, still sucks.

I rented a vehicle on my corporate rate and I was wrong about the agreement. Hey, it happens I can…read morebe wrong. The agent serving me (who was also a manager) had a terrible attitude towards my error. I proceeded in renting the vehicle, but then she tried to get me to sign the vehicle damage report before even taking a look at the vehicle. She said that there was no damage and the the vehicle was in mint condition. She seemed annoyed when I said I wanted to inspect the vehicle first. The vehicle had a big scratch on the hood (one side to the other) and a dent and gouge that was down to the paint on the door. When I said it's a good thing I checked the vehicle, she said all that damage was within the "acceptance" damage for National. I've rented many times before and I thought that this was more (didn't fit the card). So, when I dropped off the vehicle at a different location, I showed the agent the damage and the contract, and he told me it's a good thing I marked those down. The damage was not within the "acceptance" range. Unhappy with the service at this location.
