This was the worst car rental ever. I know, I gave it five stars. But that's because Hertz did such…read morea great job, despite how awful Priceline was. I asked Priceline for a car rental place near my hotel. I trusted Priceline, which was a mistake, and took a rental from a Hertz at 1478 Merivale. I requested an SUV with a toddler seat near my hotel to pick up a friend and his family. Instead, I got to go on a 20 minute ($45) taxi ride to the car-rental place. And then, when we got there....it didn't exist! So I had to call Hertz - international rates, of course - which informed me the Hertz was at 1916 Merivale. David, the man who worked at Hertz, was sympathetic to my plight, but there was still nothing he could do about what happened or the fact that there were no toddler seats to be had. Still. David let me keep the SUV until the next morning and drop it off at a different location -- no additional charge. And then, days after I got back home, I received a receipt in the mail from Hertz. They had taken $45 off my car rental fee -- when it wasn't even their fault. And I didn't even have to complain. So that's why I give Hertz five stars. I'll always rent from them in the future. David was a real pro, and a very nice guy. Priceline, however, still sucks.

I drive across city 40mins to have a look at there vehicle and when the salesman brings the truck around to front of dealership its smells like a cigarette inside and full of stone chips on the hood, both fenders and the roof is full of rust from all the stone chips including a completely cracked windshield. The salesman proceeds to tell me that no worries it hasn't gone through the shop yet to be checked I say that's ok I'm not interested being in way worse shape than my vehicle. in the mean time the used car manager Liam has my key and ownership to decide what they will give me trade in value, that was fine I was looking through dealer website with the salesman on a 2025 they have but not at the the lot to view. I said to the salesman can you get my key and ownership for me from the manager. The salesman leaves to go talk to manager and comes back if I'm interested in a brand new maverick we have great deals with employee pricing I said did you find out what my vehicle is worth on trade the salesman said they are test driving and will have a number shortly. I wait and walk around show room looking at a new Maverick and then meet the salesman and manager at the front door of the dealership and the manager asks me what I want for my vehicle I say as much as possible, The manager then says "you must have gotten a good deal on yours being a rebuilt title" I say "why do you say that?" The sales manager Liam Lawless instantly gets his chest puffed up, holds my key out in the air and says "I'm not interested I'm going to pass!" I at this point am annoyed as I taken my time to drive across city to view a vehicle they advertised that was totally misleading . I took my key and told them to remove their ad as it is not showing all the damaged on the truck the salesman agreed to remove ad immediately and he did. To wrap up my review, I find it very immature for a so called used car manager to treat a customer that way let alone in the front entrance so unprofessional. I was truly interested in coming back to proceed with a deal on the 2025 Maverick the next day when it was back on the lot. Oh well there are many other Ford dealers to deal with as Donnelly Ford doesn't put the customer service first. Its a shame that one employee could ruin the experience and sale for the salesman.

All in all a hood experience and I would recommend them.

Strongly suggest you go elsewhere as this resulted in disrupting three other professionals due to this one employee. I will be calling in the morning to review and discuss personally. Poor customer service I would give him a very low rating despite it being close to closing time. As a professional I work until the work day is done. It appeared as this was a can not be bothered to help situation as we are almost closed. Again leaving someone completely stranded no suggestions or advice is simply put unkind.

The Alamo people at the Ottawa airport were rude and abrupt about…read morehaving to deal with a "walk-in", even though they had plenty of cars and there were no other customers. When I returned the car a day early, they wouldn't reduce the "special weekly rate" - nobody said anything about this when I rented it, but they clearly expected me to suck it up for having the nerve to be a "walk-in". The bill featured a $56 charge for "premium rental location" (the airport???) - also not mentioned anywhere in the contract. I trusted these people in an emergency and they stiffed me. I will NEVER rent from Alamo again.

Use to rent all the time with Enterprise (pre covid days) back when they were super cheap, but now…read moreprices have gone up and i noticed Alamo had rental deals that were at least 30% cheaper than enterprise so i decided to try them out for the first time. I will give them credit where it's due, when i went in i was politely greeted and asked to hang tight because they were busy (fair), everyone was polite, but when it was my turn i was just handed a set of keys and told to do a walkaround of my vehicle (by myself, im pretty sure its standard practise for an employee to go with you) anyways, i had this vehicle for a week in which i had babied like my own car (drove super carefully, made sure to park it in safe/paid parking areas where it would be surveillanced) and when i went to hand the vehicle back they just took the keys and said i was good to go (no walkaround, nothing), so i left. A few hours later i recieve an email from the assistant manager saying that there is "severe damage in the form is deep scratches and DENTS in the roof"!!!! of all things wtf! There is only 2 things that could have happened here, 1. The previous renter fked up the roof and when he/she returned the vehicle, it was not inspected properly (the roof anyways) or 2. They are purposely scheming because i was not there to do a final walkaround with an employee (my mistake i guess) because there is definitely no way i had left "deep scratches" on the freaking roof let alone severe dents (im sure if there was something powerful enough to drop on the roof and leave a couple "severe dents" i would have heard or noticed it. Anyways, the assistant manager asked me in the email to go in so we can go forward with an insurance claim but the location was really not convenient for me to go to (especially without a vehicle) so i called them, 4 times. First 3 times no answer, 4th time an employee picked up in which i asked to speak to the AM and was told he was busy and they would have him call me back. Waited 2 days, no calls, sent him an email inquiring about the damages and photos and i get no response but an instant email finalizing my bill of sale and them taking a $500 deposit from my credit card. Fantastic. This is the type of shit that you only see online, on google reviews or youtube thinking its usually probably fake and never going to happen in the real world but let me tell you, damn dude it happened to me, i'll admit, i've been had by a car rental company for the first time in my life and it just had to be the one time i switched rental companies.
