They really stress the "having fun" part of it and don't tolerate bickering and uber-competitiveness. The karaoke leagues started out as just a singing competition but they have quickly evolved into mini theatrical productions. It's no longer enough to just get up and sing a song--people are coming in elaborate costumes and acting out hilarious skits to the music. Keep up the good job ACES!

ACES has been really awesome, it's a great way to meet people, have a great time karaoking, playing…read morevolleyball or bowling while also enjoying couple drinks. You get to go out there, make new friends, and do things that you've always loved doing! People in karaoke really enjoy singing, dancing, and even dressing up! We all root for each other and it's a very supportive environment, you don't have to be a great singer to have fun. Whether it's RC Fowlers or Common Interest, they're both super fun places to sing. In Common Interest, we all have this big room just for the clan and we are grouped up in 3. It makes really fun to be teamed up and there are different themes every week. Volleyball at Hanovers on Friday and Saturday can't get any better, you get to enjoy drinks, chill back, and play some sand volleyball all in one place! Another cool part in all of these activities is that you don't even have to have a full team, you can just signup by yourself and you'll be placed with new people. That's pretty awesome if you're new in town or just want to make more friends! This is a must-join clan, you get to socialize with new people while also having fun playing volleyball, karaoking, bowling, and so many other activities.

I recently rejoined after ducking out just before COVID became a major problem in 2020. I do…read moreappreciate the gym and generally get a good workout. I joined for the classes, but there are some inconsistencies with the quality there. Pros: -Amar's Zumba class on Saturdays. Her routines are high energy, and her song selection is perfect, so you get a good workout. She's excellent, so it's understandable why the class is always packed! -Annette's Tuesday evening Body Works Plus Abs. She is very intense with the repeating intervals with no breaks in between, but you leave feeling accomplished! Cons: -Some of the classes are slow, and you feel as though you did nothing afterwards. I overheard other members with the same sentiment. For example, the Monday/Wednesday evening Zumba is too low energy. I felt like I hadn't done anything. Same with the Friday morning Zumba instructor. Cycle instructor on Monday is not intense enough, and they play the same 5 songs over and over (some of which are pretty lame). -Annette is leaving, so that Tuesday evening class will have major shoes to fill. The only thing I want to change about that class is the music- it's cheesy remixes that are not inspiring at all! - This past Thursday, I waited 20 minutes after start time with 5 other people for the Body Works instructor to show up. She never did. I remember her from when I used to come in pre-COVID. She is a good instructor who is not too intense, but she often showed up late. A 20 min. wait is ridiculous, though. The gym should have better communication with the instructors. "No one called in" is not good enough- call them! -Also, I echo what others have said about Victor. He is pushy as hell. I told him multiple times I wasn't interested in signing anyone up for a guest pass. He continued. The fool should just be glad I'M signing up for a membership! Overall, the gym is fine, I just wish there was a better selection for classes. I just want to get what I pay for. I typically come in at least 3 times a week.

I signed up for a membership at LA Fitness because they were so close to me and on the surface. It…read morelooks like a nice facility but once you get in you see that management has zero interest in maintaining equipment and their employees are equally disinterested in helping the people that pay their checks. Tonight I went in and went to use a calf machine, and there was no pen to load the weights on it, I went to the front desk and the young man there said oh yeah we know about that you gotta talk to the manager tomorrow or maintenance and I said, "don't you want to write a note down about the machine number? He goes "huh...". So I went over to the sales guy that was still there and asked him if he could do anything about it and he said "I don't care. I'm just a sales guy." He went on to say "If you want to get anything done, you need to take time off and come back to the gym between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm to talk to the manager. He would even take note. This is terrible Customer Service. Terrible maintenance, and it makes me completely regret that I signed up with these guys just over a month ago. I'm now on the hunt to find something much better than this. Unless there is a serious change in their attitude about equipment maintenance, I discourage anyone from signing up here.

Don't get me wrong, I like Pickle Ranch. And I'm no expert in pickleball…read more Pros: Music is fun and lively. Plenty of courts to go around. Seems consistently clean and amenities are fine. Cons: Maybe not so much cons, I just think APR has become a bit stagnant compared to East Side Paddle Club. ESPC is cheaper, with more courts, and just as many events, clinics, and open plays. ESPC also has family plan, which is very nice on the wallet. Level of play seems more challenging at ESPC compared to APR, and just generally more buzz. Still very solid place to pay, I just think they need to be more innovative or come down in price.

I visited last month on a recommendation from my husband, who follows the pickleball community online. When I first checked the website to reserve an open play spot, it was a little confusing: Level 1: Beginners (newbies and advanced beginners); there aren't many options for these sessions in the morning. Level 2: 3.0 and up (intermediate to advanced). This is the level my husband and I played, and we were right on par with the other players. Level 3: The advanced-elite level. Overall, we had fun from check-in to check-out and even walked away with some great T-shirt swag. I was so happy I didn't have to pack my own paddle since I could rent a Selkirk Broomstick Elongated there.

It worked for me with my work schedule and how I learn but is a lot. Pro- Phillip the instructor was extremely knowledgeable, relatable and kind. I even connected with him after I passed the test and he was cheering me on then too! Pro/con- you learn way more information than you actually need for the test. You go into formulas and graphs and diagrams. All of it is extremely helpful information on how to do my job, but a lot of it was not on the test so I spent time studying and cramming things that I didnt need to know. Pro-They give you all of the study materials that you need. You do not need to buy additional books or study guides. It has a ton of practice tests and quizzes and really guides you where to look on the areas you need to focus on. A bit of background: I do projects and work in leadership but my title is nowhere near "project manager." I was learning all of the terms and formulas and all of it from scratch. It was a lot to learn in four days but that worked for me and my work/learning style. Overall, I would strongly recommend!

I took Project Management Academy's (PMA) PMP boot camp course in Norfolk, VA in November 2022…read more The course was well laid out, and was a good introduction to Project Management and what to expect when going through the certification process. PMA provided post-boot camp resources including reference material, and access to practice exams. The practice exams were difficult, and really challenged me. By the time I took the exam, I was thoroughly prepared and found the exam easy, and passed on my first attempt. What provided the most value for me was my course Facilitator, Mr. Jackson. Not only did he do a great job during the course, but he provided me assistance months after my course. He sent me additional preparation tools, reviewed my PMP application, and encouraged me when I became wary. One of my co-workers attended the course before I did, and although she had a different facilitator, her experience was very similar. Needless to say, I would highly recommend going with PMA if pursuing PMP certification.
