At first glance, this is a beautiful hotel (take in mind that I checked in at 1030pm). Sadly, my perception was skewed an hour within my stay. Lets get started ... Around 1130pm I tried to reached out to the front desk but realized the phone was broken, no dial tone. No biggy....I called the front desk on my cell. Around 2am, my wife saw a roach crawling on the television. She called the front desk on her cell to report the issue. 230am.... My family and I ( me, my wife and two kids) were moved one floor up to rm.403. What did we see on the TV and mini fridge when we woke up in the am? You guessed it.....another f*%kin roach. This time he was was accompanied by his mother's big ass. We didn't bother going back to sleep. We packed up and commenced to leave. I waited for over 30 minutes to speak to manager Kristin Gilliam and received the runabout from service reps. If I don't hear back from the manager within a week, I will report them to BBB and reach out to a contact at CBS. I forgot to mention. My first red flag should've been when the front desk clerk mentioned that the hotel has been owned by 3 or 4 different owners. Also, this building can use some maintenance. Paint is cracking and fixtures can be repaired. There is a bar/club that shares this building. You would think they could syphon enough money from that business to maintain upkeep. read more

Just left this hotel about two hours ago. Booked the hotel last night via hotels.com and checked in about an hour later. I thought the lobby was very clean and the room was nice. Bed was comfy but it's not on a boxspring. The mattress was literally placed on a wooden board so it kept slipping off even when it was only lightly brushed. It didn't hold up so well during "activities" with the guy I was with, if you know what I mean. ;) Other than that I had no complaints about the room. My only other problem was the breakfast. It was just awful. It located just past the lobby by the pool. There was a little shelf with bagels, bread and some muffins. A hot food container that held sausage links, knockoff eggo waffles and weird egg patties, three cereal options and some juice. The eggs, waffles and sausage were cold. Completely cold. Like it was all around a really shitty breakfast. Also, the lady tending the breakfast was watching me suspiciously. I'm not sure why but I didn't get good vibes from her at all. All in all, none of these problems were deal breakers but no, I would not be interested in coming in to this hotel again. read more

I wish there was a way to give 0 stars... The first room we were in didn't have heat. It was 30 degrees in Maryland, so heat should have been a standard. The room also had hair under the covers and lipstick and make up on the pillows. We were moved to a second room that wasn't much better. We finally had heat BUT the heating unit was so loud we couldn't sleep. It seemed like we were camping outside in the middle of a construction zone.The bathroom in the second room was disgusting. The tub was filthy and the tub would not drain which meant you had to stand in water while you showered. Also, the shower curtain was mysteriously missing. Honestly, the two very basic things I expect from any hotel is the ability to shower and sleep. I can't speak for the rooms or the other facilities in this hotel, but I can speak for the restaurant portion located in the back of the hotel, and it was really very impressive. My nephew and several other college students/college bound students, won scholarships from their district in Prince George's County. The Delegate for this district and a Maryland Senator held a lovely awards ceremony in all of the recipients honor. The lobby of the hotel was really nice and inviting and the restaurant area was extremely nice and modern. It housed a plethora of tables, chairs, booths and couches. It recently underwent a complete remodeling, so the furniture, carpet, etc., were all new and undamaged. A few flat screen televisions were on the walls and a speaker system seemed to play throughout the lobby and the restaurant area. A popular restaurant in the area plans to set up shop in this location in the near future, but since I'm not a fan of their policies, food, and I no longer patronize them, I won't mention the name. I will say that it was a bit warm in this room. It was a packed room, but it was still warm when their were only a few people there. I never knew this hotel existed, so I'm glad I was able to experience it with all the new and updated perks! After the restaurant opens up in this location, I can guarantee I won't be back, but for now, I'm glad they chose this location for this event. read more

I booked two nights 4-1/2 months in advance via Travelocity, paid in full. On arrival, we went up to our room and discovered it only had a King bed, when we were supposed to have two Queens to sleep our family of four. Assuming that the desk staff had made a mistake, I politely asked them if we could have a room that would sleep four. The tatted-up gang banger got rude and told me that had nothing else, and they give priority to their "customers" and I should call Expedia and see if they would book me somewhere else. The hotel parking lot was still empty at this time (about 5:00 p.m.). Three of us slept in the bed, and one on a tiny chaise lounge. Fortunately, we had blankets in the car. Hotel was under construction, which is understandable, but it was filthy. Rubbish everywhere, drywall dust covering the entire 6th floor that stuck to your shoes. Half-painted walls everywhere. Security cameras were all completely covered in painters tape. A/C unit was broken - full on or full off only. Elevator was filthy, creaky and some buttons did not light up when pressed. One elevator smelled like trash. There were burned out ceiling lights in the elevator, and missing light bulbs in our room. There is no food at this hotel other than vending machines after breakfast. "Room service" is www.orderinn.com, some third-party delivery service. On the positive side, breakfast was mediocre and free. Parking is free. Exterior landscaping is nice. Coffee, microwave and fridge in the room. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and found us a pillow and blanket our second day. Wi-fi was free but expires Sunday morning so you have to ask for a new password (they don't tell you that). Staff at front desk on checkout was very pleasant. Metro is about a half mile walk. It was undoubtedly my worst stay at a hotel ever, and I would not stay here again. read more

As of May 2015, this hotel has been remodeled. All rooms are now non-smoking, and the hotel lobby and rooms are clean, smell fresh, and have no signs of wear and tear that other out-of-the-way hotels have. The air conditioning unit worked perfectly, and the tv had all the premium channels that come standard with a good hotel. The bed and sheets are clean, yes I checked for bugs, and the bathrooms are spotless as well. **During my stay, the fire alarms went off, and the staff orchestrated a PERFECT evacuation of the hotel. We later found out that it was someone burning something in the microwave, but I think the proper execution of the evacuation speaks VOLUMES to the staff. ** The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The free breakfast wasn't 5-star food, but you get what you pay for, and in this case, was worth more than I was charged. Although the town this hotel is in isn't that great, the immediate area surrounding the hotel is safe and clean, with the Metro and Largo Town Shopping Center less than a 10 minute walk away. Overall, I would be more than content to stay here again, and I really do appreciate the way the staff went out of their way to make me feel at home. read more

Ghetto.....Room was decent, bed was comfortable.....service mediocre...and I think they house homeless people here because there were so many hood people with kids running all around the hallway. My company reserved rooms for a bunch of us in training for an entire month. This was the longest time Ive ever spent temporary living in a hotel, and the worst experience Ive ever had. While the staff behind the front desk were pleasant to me, the hotel was lacking ALOT. The hallways were so hot, it was scorching outside and it felt just as hot in the hallways and elevator. I was placed in 4 different rooms during my stay, each one was clean, but some had air conditioning issues. It was either too hot or freezing. The thermostat was no help. The complimentary breakfast was just okay.. It left alot to be desired. I was there for a month, so it was depressing having the same breakfast almost every single day.. Sausage or bacon, waffles, yogurt, cereal, muffin and scrambled eggs. It would have been nice is the menu changed a couple times a week. I suppose for those who are there for a day or two its okay, but for anything longer its awful. I cant even look at a bagel, yogurt or a muffin. They have the exact same flavors every single day.. Blueberry yogurt or vanilla yogurt, and blueberry or corn muffin.... Zzzzzz its hard to be excited about the exact same meal for 30 days. I understand the hotel was having renovations done, but as i mentioned I was there 30 days and didn't see much done. Sadly, several of my co workers had issues with their rooms, one found a condom in her tub when she checked in, others rooms werent clean, and some had a bad smell in the room. I hate to give such a horrible review but I have to be honest and this place leaves alot to be desired. read more

For where it is and what it is and the price, it's fine. It's an old Hampton Inn that's in need of some lovin'. There's paint stains on the walls, interior is dated and furniture is used. I had a suite with a mini fridge and microwave. It was less than $70 for the night. Gym is outdated and only two machines work. It was obviously bought as is and they try to maintain it MacGyver style with a thumbnail, floss, gum, duct tape, and a match. Bathrooms are small, and the lighting is bad but I'd stay here again for the price. It's comfortable enough and there's breakfast. Staff is friendly. If you'd prefer better, there's an Extended Stay right across the parking lot. read more

Formerly a Hampton Inn, the new owner's only hotel and a descent value for the room price. Breakfast was free and worth the price :). Frozen scrambled eggs, sausage patties, a waffle station, yogurt, apples, oranges, fruit juice, simple bread and muffins and some cereal. Rooms were dated, but clean. Hot water and water pressure were good and the pool included a lifeguard (11-9 summer hours). Very convenient access to the Metro Blue line at the nearby Largo station (walking distance) with a 30 minute ride to downtown DC. I'd stay here again if the room rates continue to be low. At 6pm after driving 300 miles, the Hotel Largo front desk attendant said they were still "working" on our room. She assured me it would be ready when we returned from a soccer game later that night. However, at 11:30pm we, along with about 15 other people, were told "we don't have a room for you." No apology nor effort to help find an alternative was made. At midnight we finally found an open room 20 miles away at 5x the cost. Apparently appropriate protocol would have been for Hotel Largo staff to contact the third party we used, booking.com , to find a comparable room elsewhere. General Manager, Glen B., has not returned my calls regarding compensation for both our unexpected financial expenses as well as inconvenience. read more

I can only speak for the use of the meeting space as I was there for a workshop. The lobby had a nice modern look to it. However, there was no one at the front desk and there was no one there to greet guests so I had to walk in and look around to see where the meeting was being held. I do event/meeting planning and it would have help if there was some sort of signage at the front so guests coming in for the workshop knew where to go. In this case, it wasn't super crucial as the lobby area is pretty small--it didn't take but a few steps to find a friend of mine who was also attending the event. As for the actual meeting space, the room held about 10 round tables with 8-10 chairs at each table. It wasn't cramped but wouldn't have been able to hold more. I thought the temperature was perfect--a lot of times in hotel meeting rooms, you need a parka because it's so cold. It did get a bit nosy with random banging (I don't what that was about) and vacuuming. They had the door open but had to close it for that reason. The room was small enough to where there was no need for a microphone. Also, my friend used the restroom twice and thought that while the custodian did a nice job cleaning the bathroom, the hotel should have had another person helping because he was the same person who set up the meeting room. Also, she said that some of the stalls had broken handles; some stalls didn't have toilet paper and there were no paper towels. She said that custodian was friendly but overwhelmed (understandable). All in all, it was an okay space to hold the workshop; however, there is definite room for improvement. read more

This was under renovation and still was a pleasant place to stay. The front desk was especially courteous and helpful. Very clean hotel, clean rooms, and area around pool, dining, and outside considering the renovations of course. Good access to Route 95/495, downtown, and Six Flags (about 8 mins). Great rate for the room too. King size bed was actually a king size bed and not something else. Hot water, small refrigerator in room, free wifi (good coverage from top floor), and free printing. Breakfast is decent but not a fan of the frozen eggs frisbees but every thing else was good. Good variety to choose from. Could be better if there were more than one waffle maker so there isn't such a long line. I would definitely stay again if the price stays right. read more

I don't live far from this hotel and I have stayed in it once. I like it, it does not take much to please me, but I am very OCD about hotels I stay in. I was very pleased. This hotel has been through many name changes as well, but that's neither here or there. The customer service is good. I booked a room again pretty soon, and when I had a question or issue with my booking, I called and the lady who answered the phone was very rude and did not help me at all. It felt like she was trying to rush me off the phone and was not taking time out to actually help me with my problem, she didn't even ask me for my name.. She was trying to get curt with me, because I was not understanding what she was talking about. She kept telling me to call the third party to fix my problem. It took a lot out of me not to catch a huge attitude with her. How do I call a third party when I made the reservation directly through the website. I work in a field where customer service is a huge part of the business and in the hotel business, there is not excuse for bad customer service and if you expect people to give you business, she is not helping the hotel at all. The next day I called and I got a different person and he was very polite. He asked me for my name and solved the problem for me. It's people like that who make me give them business, but they need to pull that girl aside and talk to her about her customer service. The way she talked over the phone, I wouldn't even want to have a personal conversation with her. Besides the rude lady, I like this hotel. read more

Booked a room 2 months in advance for a football game. Majority of the hotels were sold out due to the game. This hotel was poorly organized, understaffed, and unprepared. People waited for more than 3 hours. When we finally got our room, they claim that 3rd parties over book (booking.com, expedia, etc.). The hotel next to this one told one of their residents this hotel gets overbooked all the time. This hotel is also going through renovations. The dining area was nice. The room was ok but the bathroom had hair in it and didn't seem that clean. read more

Worst hotel experience ever. During a 3 night stay, room was not cleaned for 2 days. They removed towels one day, but didn't restock. Took trash out partially but left other trash on the floor. Would definitely recommend, and will definitely stay there again if we ever go back to DC! Hotel look very nice from the outside, well maintained and with parking right by the entrance. The woman at the desk was very friendly, and waited on us immediately. Whenever we got up to our room, the door wouldn't open. She moved us to another, identical room, and apologised. A bit of an inconvenience, but nothing more. Our room was very nice; fridge and microwave included. The room was clean, tv worked, and everything was comfortable. Only complaint is that none of the ice machines on any floors seem to work. A bit of an issue when we were leaving. We didn't use the internet, so cannot comment on that, though they did have Wifi. Breakfast was included with the room, and it was fairly good. Bacon, toast, porridge, cereal etc. was offered, as well as tea and coffee. We didn't use the exercise room, but they did offer one. Shuttle service to the Metro was fantastic. We never had to wait more than a few minutes. They're meant to leave every 30 mins, but the drivers would take us over if they saw we were waiting. We would call to be picked up from the Metro whenever we were at the Largo station, and they always arrived soon after. The neighbourhood was also very nice. The surrounding area was clean and well maintained, and looked like the residents took care. We had no problems with people hanging around at night. We also noticed that police would circuit the area at night, which was nice. All in all, the hotel was very clean; inside the lobby, the rooms, as well as the outside. Everyone we met were friendly and helpful. Definitely a hotel I would recommend. read more

I am a counselor and My program took our kids on a college tour for three days. Our stay here was absolutely unacceptable. The staff disregarded me and our class with every complaint given. Cockroaches were seen crawling on my bed and the beds of other kids. When we went to complain, they simply wrote it down, said thank you and sent us off. Spent the weekend at the Avi Hotel because my boyfriend and I were going to the Redskins Dolphins week one game. This hotel is so convenient for out of state guest looking to enjoy their Sunday football day! When we checked in, we were given a room with two queen beds instead of one king. When I called the front desk, the woman had told us they were over booked and because we went through a 3rd party (hotels.com) we were not taken as first priority. My boyfriend and I went down to the front desk and spoke with the front desk supervisor and she moved some stuff around so we were able to get a room with one king bed. She was extremely polite and accommodating. We spent two nights there. One day we took the train into DC. The shuttle will take you to the train station right down the street. The train only takes about a half hour to get into the city and was extremely convenient. On the day of the game, the shuttle took us as far as they could, which was at the shopping mall around the corner from FedEx field. It was only about a mile walk but you save 50 dollars on parking. Plus when the game gets out, you call the shuttle to pick you up in the same spot and you don't have to deal with all the cars leaving at the same time! There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel that I did not have a chance to check out. Overall, the whole experience was incredible. Great price for an awesome location and a very accommodating and friendly staff. If you're going to a game or event at FedEx field, stay here! read more

Stayed at this hotel for one night with my wife and 2 kids. Was skeptical of staying here after reading several poor reviews here and on Tripadvisor. Room was clean and customer service was good. All and all it was a great value for the cost. Kids loved the pool and free breakfast. Chlorine levels seemed a little high (based on smell and eye irritation) but in a public pool better too much than too little. read more
