It didn't take too long to make my pita and it was securely wrapped and placed in a nice paper bag for the ride back. I loved all the components of the meal, from the soft pillowy pita, oh so tender wagyu shawarma, fresh veggies and 2 types of sauce. The sauce is quite potent so a little goes a long way. I've been hearing about Avi Cue for a while and was excited to finally try it but unfortunately it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. You can tell they use high quality meat but it was a bit too salty for my taste. The OG wagyu shawarma pita also felt like it was missing something. The fries were solid though. Overall, it's worth trying once but for me it's not somewhere I'd go back to because a $25 pita is pretty steep, for it to not be exceptional. Also the beef is a tad salted and didn't look as the advertisement. I went with half a pita of the OG Wagyu Beef Shawarma here and that was more than plenty. The beef was well seasoned and perfectly cooked on that spit and generously piled into the pita. The fries were perfectly cooked and crispy as well. They also offer two sauces to eat your pita with and both are very flavorful. I liked the orange one a little bit better cause I think they mix a little bit of fruit into it so it had a bit of a zest. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and heard so many good things about this place. A few friends and I had a birthday in the area earlier in the day so we made it a point to go here for dinner. So glad we did! Do you ever find yourself having to write a review immediately while you're dining at the restaurant? That was my experience at Avi Cue! Matter of fact, I came here yesterday and I came back again today because it was so damn good. I got the same thing (creature of habit! Don't fix what ain't broken!) the Wagyu shawarma makes this elite!!! Don't get me started on the soft-as-my-ass pita!!!! And the fries that are fried in beef tallow with flaky sea salt?! OMG. I simply cannot. I have found my new go-to spot and I don't believe it will be changing any time soon. And they do NOT skimp out on the meat! The onions and other items were also nicely distributed throughout the sandwich. On my second day (next day... aka today lol) Mack (hoped I spelled it right) was kind enough to let me try the red sauce since I got the green sauce yesterday lmao. My thoughts: red has a bolder flavor that has a great flavor and green is brighter with a bit more of a kick. So in short, get both!!! Finally decided to try this place on a whim since it's in my neighborhood. Unfortunately was a bit disappointed. The fries and pita bread were tasty but I felt that the chicken shawarma really lacked flavor. Also while waiting for my takeout order there were people eating inside the restaurant with their dog which definitely ruined the vibe and turned me off from returning. This place is great. The staff is super nice and very informative in the food and making sure we know what we're looking for. The fast casual place does a good job of packing the full pita wagyu beef shawarma I got. I also ordered a fried cauliflower and my friend ordered a hummus plate spicy. The food was great. The wagyu beef was very tender and flavorful. The sauce and veggies and super soft pita really made everything work together very well. The fried cauliflower was fried very well without making it too soggy. The spicy hummus was very flavorful and unique and I'd come back to try their ayares and other items they have on their menu. The food was just as everyone has mentioned before, just delicious! The wagyu pita sandwich is where it's at. My friend and I ordered the full thinking we could split it. Just note that they can't cut the sandwich in half, hence why they have the half size orders. We also split the cauliflower and French fries. Pairing a whole bite of all these things along with the sauces they have in house, they all sang in perfect harmony. Also the free coffee is a nice touch considering the premium pricing for that wagyu. The ambiance is chill and casual, don't expect to have regular tables/chairs, as this is a very casual spot- mostly stools, small tables and an option to sit at a bar top that hugs the far walls. I would still come back again when I get the craving! Just be aware that this place is sandwiched next to other great eateries and therefore parking can be hard to come by since the valet on the lot only caters to one of the restaurants.
