I have a son who is not only on the autism spectrum but has multiple health issues. He has a lot of past medical and dental trauma and does not trust easily. On top of trust, his medical history has complicated his dental care. After posting in a facebook group, desperately looking for dental help, Dr. Hart reached out to me personally. She spent her own personal time discussing my son's issues and we set up a tentative plan for my son to meet her. Before attempting to do anything, Dr. Hart took the time to get to know my son. His interests, his likes, his fears, past experiences. You name it, they discussed it! She made my son feel safe and comfortable as a person before even having him sit in a dental chair. This has NEVER happened before. We drive 4 hours round trip for these dental appointments but, Dr. Hart is absolutely worth it! My son has allowed Dr. Hart to work on his dental needs and no longer fears the experience.
