(Elite) to refinish our 1990's solid wood kitchen cabinets. We wanted to transition from a dated medium tone reddish-brown natural wood finish to have them painted a fresh, modern neutral color. We selected an elegant shade of beige with hints of yellow and green depending on how the sun is shining. We waited the full 30 days after painting to replace items on the painted shelves that were part of our kitchen. I have waited until now to write my review to be sure that the painted cabinet surfaces held up to everyday wear and tear. All I can say is that Elite did a fantastic job! Ernesto came and gave us the initial quote in December 2025 and he was also on our job every single day. Our painting work was performed by Ernesto himself and one other contractor (Tony). They worked quite independently, diligently and were patient and easy to communicate with throughout the project as I was onsite (and watching intently) the entire time. Ernesto's and Tony's work was top-notch. Also, the office staff person, Sasha, did a great job, start to finish: first, in getting us scheduled in a very timely manner; all the way to the end, with final payment processing. We truly could not be happier. Our kitchen is large and our existing custom cabinetry was solid wood that was in really good shape and would have been such a waste to just get rid of. However, I also did not want our kitchen to look hodge-podge or cheap, as our home is quite grand. Anyway, the end result is the kitchen of my dreams! The newly painted finish looks seamless, brand new, and has held up beautifully to everyday use. It gives our kitchen a refreshed and totally elegant look. He's very kind and explained everything involved in the process. He is clearly proud of the work he has performed and showed us beautiful examples of recently completed jobs. We got bids from numerous companies. Some were very high priced. Some in the middle. AZ West Painting was on the more reasonable end. But AZ West Painting does a much more involved process than several of the much more expensive options, so they were the clear winner. Cris and his crew arrived at the date and time they were scheduled and got the job done well within the estimated time of completion. In fact I think they were done possibly a day early. They spent a good part of the time repairing damaged cabinets and prepping for the actual painting. They installed new hardware of our choosing, they installed crown molding. After the painting was completed we were floored. It made our 19 year old house look brand new. Cris and his crew did an amazing job and I cannot recommend him enough. If you need to get cabinets refinished this is the company to choose. I've attached 2 before photos which are from the MLS listing so they don't look nearly as bad as they actually did. The painting for my project…read morewas scheduled to commence first thing next week, but Chris decided to cancel our verbal agreement at the last moment, all due to a misunderstanding with the contractor, who has also been quite troublesome. After a phone call with the contractor, Chris voiced his concern regarding my payment(s) to the contractor for a city requirement before he could initiate the painting, essentially accusing me of failing to pay the contractor for the project. To begin with, you do not have the authority to dictate when I should pay for a service that you are not delivering. Furthermore, he was unaware that I had already completed two of the four payments for the project, and instead, he immediately took the contractor's side. Chris accused me without taking the time to verify the facts or engage in a mature dialogue about the situation, and instead insisted that I resolve this issue with the contractor. I tried to clarify that I had already made the necessary payments to the contractor and expressed my confusion at being accused of this, offering to provide proof of payments, to which Chris replied, "Okay, I'm out. Good luck." I find this behavior to be exceedingly rude and unprofessional. How ironic that they advertise Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed on their website. Business 101: Customer service should be provided before, during, and after the purchase of a service. I will certainly not be reaching out to AZ West Painting for any future projects.
