I was craving basic American food when I stumbled across Average Joe's. I'm not hard to please when it comes to simple food, so I really liked this place! Super casual environment with upbeat music and a couple pool tables. I started with the hummus plate, which was larger than expected! The pita bread was yummy - I prefer when it's room temperature and soft, so I appreciated that. For the meal, I ordered the chicken slammers, which were everything I expected. They don't look very appealing, but they definitely satisfied my hunger. It was a lot of food for a decent price. The name of the restaurant is spot on, so if you're in the mood for a place with an uncomplicated menu, I'd say try it out! read more

I went in earlier this year & again with my GF recently as she'd never been here before. She liked it for the size, food & atmosphere. It's a big sized strip-mall bar that offers the standard bar food with games going on, on all the TV's. Food was decent with average sized portions. Prices were average, too. Service, despite what others have said, was attentive & friendly, pretty quick as well. We didn't have any problems with our waitress. I'd say the place reminds me of another local, small chain, sports bar restaurant. Just smaller menu, a little bit higher prices and smaller crowd, too. There's nothing wrong with the place at all. Wow this place is really cool. Makes you feel like an Average Joe (like myself) I will recommend many people to visit and check out! Bingo and Billiards is all you need. Can't forget the classic Basketball Machine Arcade game. And Boy do I love blasting my toons on their TOUCHTUNES machine. All their workers are friendly and are of great service. Food is always enjoyable and overall a nice local experience. They have lots of cool TVs to show a lot of sports and cool videos too. I haven't even got started on the patio. For those who want to blow off some steam (pun) intended go ahead out there, it's a gated place for you. Discovered this place by accident last week. Had the Italian sub. Really good. Stopped in again today and found out it's 1/2 off burgers day. Honestly, expected something "average". Not at all! Average On my great wings adventure I wanted to give Joe's a shot since it is close to my home. Placed a carry out order for garlic jumbo wings and came home to try them. The size was ok, not small like BW3, not large whole wings as I expected with the name "jumbo" used to describe their wings. This place is fun, energetic and has really cool staff. I recommend the margarita made with orange juice instead of sour mix and the Southwest wrap. I went here the other night with my boyfriend for dinner. It wasn't too busy. It was around 8pm. We walk in and go to seat ourselves but all the tables were dirty and had chunks of food on them. We sat at a table and waited for one of the 3 girls working behind the bar to come and wipe off the table or greet us. One girl looked at us multiple times and just completely ignored us. We decided to leave after having to wait for 15 minutes. Extremely disappointed in the service and do not recommend. read more

We like to come here on Mondays with friends because they have 1 lb of boneless or traditional wings for $5 and they both are great. The hot garlic sauce is great and isn't crazy hot. Garlic Parmesan is good here too. The deal is only good for dine in, which kind of stinks for Monday night football if you would rather watch from home. They have tons of different things on the menu and everything we've had has been great. Only complaint is it's a little pricey, but definitely a great place to go watch some football or basketball. read more

They do a nice job of offering 2/3 craft on tap and still have some interesting bottles. I enjoyed a Columbus Brewing IPA, Rogue Dead Guy, plus a Rogue seasonal and on tap. They also had strong bow, guiness, bass, etc. In bottles they had Victory Hop Devil, Dark Horse and Brooklyn. Monday wings are half off so I tried an order of volcano joes and hot garlic. I loved the valconoes, they had a good jalapeño flavor with a little sweetness. Hot garlic was better than most. BBQ fans will live the sweet baby ray style ones. Atmosphere was pretty good with great views of TVs. Staff was competent and knowledgeable. Would eat here instead of BWS next time I'm in area. read more

Been here an hour and a half for a burger and a beer. Four people, restaurant is 1/3 full. Server does not listen to order. We had to repeat ourselves several times. We were a party of two couples us and our daughter and boyfriend who are local. A tables of drunk men got most of the attention so hopefully they tipped well. We have been here three times but disappointed each time. It took forever to get our drinks as well. Burger was good but service was extremely slow again. Too bad. This location is very handy to meet our daughter but be prepared to stay a good king while, that way they sell more drinks but we have a drive home to dayton. Bring a pillow read more

Stick to the pizzas. I've been to a couple of these restaurants, and they are always enjoyable. They have lots of TVs, friendly servers and decent beer prices (and happy hours depending on the season. I usually get pizzas here ($14-$17), and I've really enjoyed each one. The burgers are meh. You'll see pretty much the same type of burgers here as every other similar joint and the fries are just regular shoestring fries. All in all, if you want to hang out, grab a couple beers and eat some pizza, then this is a good place to check out. Side Note: They have a pretty sizable patio. Really enjoy the patio. The food isn't anything to write home about and with that being said is kind of expensive for what it is. Good spot for a quick drink though. As previously stated, the name of this place is totally apt. I know a decent amount of people who love it here, and I think that it's because there really aren't many sports bars in this part of town. If you spent enough time here to become a regular, I can see the appeal. Let's talk about the positives first: the servers are friendly, there is probably one TV for every patron, they have great prices on their beer (and a surprising selection of craft beer). The negatives? Their food is kind of crappy, even for bar food standards. I had their signature Joe burger, which comes with a side of fries. The fries were the skinny shoestring variety, and they came out warm and sort of dried out. Also, SO SALTY. I mean, so salty that I really couldn't eat them, and I am not the kind of person who turns away a potato. The burger was okay, but the meat was kind of rubbery and had a bit of gristle. Again, the dominant flavor profile was salt. We also had a pizza, which was okay, but not nearly enough sauce. Is everything here dried out? We were there to celebrate a birthday, and everyone ended up having a good time. Part of the reason why this place is just 'ok' in my book is that I'm not exactly the target demographic: I'm a foodie who doesn't care about sports. If you're in the area and need a cheap beer and access to every game at the same time, this is your place. read more

The food is absolutely terrible. If you're gonna come, just go for drinks and call it a day-you can't mess up a beer. It's unfortunate because it is a really nice sports bar. The service was ridiculously slow as well and then my pizza came out burnt and was missing a piece of the pizza. The server said as she was coming around the corner quickly a piece fell off. Average Joe's, to me, is just average. There is nothing about this bar that makes it spectacular, but there's nothing bad about this bar either. Their prices are okay on beer and mixed drinks. I did get the boneless wings once, and I really enjoyed them. My friend, however, ordered their soft pretzel bites and they were basically the ones you buy from the grocery store and heat up in your microwave. The one thing I do like about this place is it seems to have a lot of events going on all the time. The one time I was here, some radio station (I forget which) was there, and they were having the customers play games. And the second time I was here, Pinnacle vodka had some of their girls there and we got to sample 3 different types of vodka and gave away free shirts. Score! All in all, I think it's a decent bar to go to, but I just wouldn't make it a regular place. read more

I went to AJ's on Wing night with my family of 5. I like wings and beer. The beer was delicious. It pretty much ended there. The fam ordered 1 burger, 1 quesadilla, 1 order of nachos and the son and I both ordered wings. Wings came out 10 minutes after the other 3 entrees. Here's the breakdown: Burger. Cooked to wrong temp and didn't have the toppings that were ordered. Quesadilla. Good job Nachos. Pricy for chips, lettuce and salsa Wings. The big drums were raw in the middle. The paddles were burnt to a crisp. But here's the good part....... The server, whom I rarely saw, asked how our meal was. Without being a dick or mean, I just told her that the whole meal was really bad. She offered up her GM to speak to us. I said, "That would be fine. Let him know that I'm not going to be a jerk or demand anything. He just really needs to know how bad this food was." 5 minutes later, the server comes back and says, and I quote, "The manager said that as long as the service was OK, he didn't need to come speak to you. I've visited this location twice, and both times, have had a great time! I go on Thursdays, as it's my day off. I've come alone both times, usually by Lyft. Kayla, the bartender, is awesome. With me being blind, she's always willing to assist me to a table or stool, or in finding the restrooms, or anything else I may need as the place is still somewhat new to me. On top of the friendly staff, the fellow customers are a great bunch. Both times, I've met some really cool people...And, they don't seem to mind when I take over the TouchTunes. Excellent food, great beer selection, very good mixed drinks, reasonably priced shots, and a great staff make this one of my favorite hangouts. If you go, try the Joe's Garbage Can, a HEAPING pile of food that is probably best shared with a few good friends. Ordered this for myself, and...Hardly made a dent in it, but it was damn good. Next time, I'll either grab a burger or try one of their pizzas. And next time, probably having one or two fewer beverages. LOL read more

I've spent literally thousands of dollars here with my company for meetings. I can't tell you how many times we've had after work get togethers there. Yet, when I come in by myself and meet someone or hear someone disrespecting the servers, it pisses me off and I tell people to respect them! I hate seeing someone get bullied for being gay or wearing short shorts for their livelihood.....I always stick up for them. I saw a couple of waitresses taking shot after shot from a group of their friends, so when I offered to buy them shots as well, out of good faith and trying to help them, I get this answer from a server, after I paid a bunch of money for food and drinks..."We're too busy to take the shots you bought us tonight....but will when we're not busy "....less than 30 seconds later, I'm paying my high tab with their shots on it and I asked the server, "so it okay to have shots with your friends instead of with someone who stuck up for you?".....and I got ignored.
