She was attentive and helpful throughout the entire booking process. She even put together a packet with all of the pertinent information, so that there was really very little left for me to take care of from a paperwork standpoint. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I ended up having to cancel my cruise, and Alison was even helpful during this process. She contacted Carnival to have my refund issued, and was very communicative during this process. I'm hoping to re-book for the end of the year and I most certainly intend to utilize her services.

I booked a trip through the New York Times and Judy Perl is the travel agency they make you use. If…read moreit were my choice, I would find someone else. I am going on an expensive high-end trip so I would expect a travel agency to be attentive, communicative, and check in on occasion. Judy Perl does none of the above. I had to reach out to them when final payment was due because I hadn't heard from them in months. When my credit card company flagged the large charge and declined it, I had to figure it out for myself. No one reached out. And once it was cleared up, I had to check in to make sure I was all paid. You think they'd want to be sure that their travelers were paid?!? And now I'm about a month out from the trip which requires a specific packing list and I have not heard a thing. I went back to the confirmation of my trip from a few months ago, one of the few communications they initiated, to find a link to a website and figure out where within the website to find the recommended packing list. From other agents or agencies I've used in the past, this is something they would have already reached out on. Even discount agencies I've used have been more proactive. Don't expect full service from this travel agency, even if you're paying a premium. I hope New York Times finds another agency to work with. Otherwise, I would have second thoughts about booking another trip with the New York Times and after this experience I'd never use Judy Perl on my own.

Our most recent experience was this past December(2021). We took our entire family, all 15 of us, on a trip to the Galapagos islands, Peru and Machu Picchu.  The trip and it's transportation , excursions, guides, hotels and meals was well thought out and well planned. It actually exceeded our expectations, which were NOT low!  We rented an entire boat to accommodate all of us in the Galapagos islands. The boat was comfortable, the crew was capable and friendly, the guide was knowledgeable and helpful and the food was beyond delicious and beautiful!   Being in the Galapagos this way was a magical experience!  We then went to Peru and stayed in Cusco, an historic colonial city, enroute to Machu Picchu. Bill at Classic arranged amazing experiences for us such as rafting on the Urubamba River in Peru, riding to Machu Picchu on the Hiram Bingham train, a former Orient Express train and many other things. The transportation arrangements were flawless, the guides were helpful and knowledgeable. I really don't know what more to say to praise the team at Classic except to say that we have used them before. They earned our selection of them for the trip in December 2021 AND I will be using them again in the future!  In case it is useful for readers to know, Classic planned a remarkable trip for us to Belize for five days each in the mountains and in the shore. They also put together a wonderful trip for us and another couple to Argentina and Brazil. We were in Patagonia, Buenos Aries, Argentina, Iquzu Falls and Rio de Janeiro.  Their commitment to detail combined with their knowledge and resources have been of extraordinary benefit to us. I am so grateful for her planning advise and expertise. All the hotel choices were perfect, and the traveling arrangements made going from place to place very easy. The Rome hotel was such a nice sanctuary from for our busy days and they gave us an upgrade! The hotel in Ravello was spectacular as well. Traveling any place can be stressful, especially traveling to four different cities in Italy spanning two weeks. But it gave us such peace of mind that everything was taking care of, and that when something was promised, it was delivered. She introduced us to the island of Moorea as well and we couldn't have been more pleased. I'm typically not one to utilize a travel agent as I enjoy planning my own itineraries but I don't think I'll ever book a trip without Mindy again. I must also add that Covid-19 postponed this trip about 5 times. Mindy worked with me and my wife at all hours and weekends to ensure we were still scheduled. Prior to arrival, we were required to provide Tahiti with extensive documentation to allow us into the country. We saw people get turned away at the airport due to lack of documentation. Mindy worked with local contacts and travel boards and provided us with organized lists of everything we needed. This certainly is not the norm and likely is not the typical level of service you'd receive from any travel agency. Mindy was as excited for us to arrive in Tahiti for our honeymoon as we were and we felt like she was a part of our journey there. We received a beautiful bottle of champagne upon our arrival with a note from her which truly made it even more special. I'm not one to ever write reviews but Mindy deserves every word of it. If you're a trip planner like me or just want a hassle free, wonderful experience with the best recommendations possible, work with Mindy!
