One of my favorite eating spots. Food is ALWAYS wonderful & beautifully presented. Service is excellent. Consistently high quality. I eat vegan - sometimes raw, sometimes cooked. Their organic greens salad is the best I've had anywhere. Right now (summer 2011) I love the deep-fried polenta (I request they withhold the cheese). The yam fries are delicious. (The portions are generous.) The only disappointment I have is that where they used to have a tofu dish - they do not now. I suppose there are not enough of us vegans asking for vegan protein choices - like tofu, tempeh or meat analogue dishes (like Gardein products). read more

We have been going to this restaurant for a few years and have our favourites. This year we booked a romantic Valentines evening there and opted for the menu vice the feature sheet. It looked good but after the waitress said we could pick and choose. We did that instead. My meal was great, had the tuna stack to start with the pork chop for the main. Awesome combination! My wife opted for the feature scallops and 8 oz New York strip loin steak/blue cheese with truffle fries. Unfortunately her meal wasn't as fruitful as mine. The scallops were no bigger than a quarter, and she got 4 for $16, they were tasty but not much for the price. The steak was less than 1/2 inch thick and cooked past medium rare. I don't think a good cook could muster a medium rare steak when it's only 3/8 of an inch thick without overdoing it! I mean for $29 she received a $5 pub steak good with eggs. We politely told the waitress that we weren't happy with the steak, she said she'd advise the chef. We finished the meal and boxed the left over minute steak and paid our bill. When I asked the waitress about the steak, she said that the steaks are all thin now and that ours was, and I quote "the luck of the draw" that we got the really thin one! Our waitress was really nice and helpful, and I can't say anything negative toward her, but I would not recommend the restaurant anymore. We may still go back there because in the Comox Valley there are a limited number of places to dine, but will definitely not have the steak!! The dessert was really good! I didn't want to take to writing a mediocre review of the place but because of "the luck of the draw" I feel that speaking to the masses vice a simple fix at our table would have prompted me to right an excellent review. read more

A gem of a restaurant in the Comox Valley! Quaint, exceptional service from the hostess greeting, to seating us...We had made reservations for 4 adults, and a last minute 5th person joined us and there was no fuss and so accommodating to our guest diner. Our waitress was fantastic, so personable and made us feel at home & not rushed. So knowledgeable about the extensive menu & the wine pairings. A feature sheet was presented with highlighted wine suggestions & finds with a focus on local BC wineries and a more comprehensive world wide list to follow that suits all taste buds :) ..and of course we had to have a cocktail first to celebrate our get together, martini's for the crowd and all were exceptional~ fun to taste the different flavours! So many great choices on the dinner menu and was hard to make a decision! Wild West Coast Salmon or the Beer Braised short rib pasta, Chicken Curry, Fish & Chips...We had it all! The chicken curry looked amazing and on my list for my next visit...I had the beer braised short rib pasta and checked off all the boxes for a great tasty comfort dish....Room for dessert? Well we experienced all of the favorites; Peanut Butter Cheesecake, Pannacotta and a Warmed Carmel sponged cake...That was devine, and a crowd favourite at the table~ try mixing the warm caramel with the peanut butter cheesecake! Oh yummy! We all had such a great time and dining experience, such a rarity these days to have all 5 people happy, and pleased with exceptional service and their menu choices....You must make time and tracks to enjoy this dining treasure ~You won't be disappointed! We are visiting the area from California and are so happy we stumbled across this restaurant! The service is wonderful and the food is local and delicious! We enjoyed their oysters, tuna stack, salmon entree and fabulous sticky date cake dessert. We had a fabulous evening! read more

Delicious! We had the burger, salmon salad and polenta appetizer. Everything was excellent. Just wish we had saved room for dessert...

Amazing restaurant. We started with a sampler of oysters and the pan seared scallops with pulled pork. Both were fantastic. I then had the seafood curry bowl and the folks I was dining with had the pan roasted halibut and cedar plank wild salmon fillet. All of the dishes were delicious and portions were generous. For dessert, we had the creme brulee. Ambiance is fantastic and service is excellent. read more

for tourists and locals, you need to know this is the best restaurant in town... Guaranteed great meals, not cheap buT GOOD LOCAL FOOD. Nice fresh seasonal menu options, great brunch, amazing steak, great seafood, brilliant veggies, non dairy and gluten free options.... Consistent service, nice microbrews, and really really reliable in terms of food and experience. There really is no other restaurant in Comox. read more

Went here for lunch the other day. Four adults. We ordered the Southern Fried chicken burger, their stuffed beef burger, the Avenue pulled pork sandwich and the West Coast club sandwich. All came with a good portion of shoestring french fries and each sandwich contained a handful of assorted greens. I had the pulled pork which was chewy with a totally unimaginative (bland) flavour profile. The toasted focaccia bread that was used for the West Coast club was so hard it was virtually inedible. While the others in my party did not complain about their food, neither did they extol its virtues. All in all a mediocre outing at a trendy, overpriced restaurant. Total cost for lunch $60.00.
