I wanted to support a local small-town businesss and purchased an expensive ($3700 incl. tax)…read moreleather power recliner chair from One Stop Furniture in Sidney, just before leaving out of country for the Christmas holidays. I was hesitant about the purchase, but felt I could consider and deal with it further after the Christmas holiday when I came back in a couple of weeks. Although I thought it would grow on me, the chair was a bad choice on my part and does not match my style or decor. Though only weeks since the purchase, when I returned home I approached One Stop about a return but they would not sway from their 7-day return (20% restocking) policy, as I was now beyond 7 days. I have offered to accept a refund for even just their "cost" of the chair, or return it on consignment, or even just an in-store credit. The chair is only weeks since purchased and their response is "nothing we can do for you". So try to sell such an expensive item on-line for anywhere near my cost. I am hoping to recoup on-line possibly 1/2 the price I paid, but doesn't seem so. Will be an extreme loss for me. I am disappointed that One Stop would give me no consideration or no possible options beyond their 7-day return "nothing we can do for you" policy. I am very disappointed with One Stop giving no concession at all for return of an expensive "new" item, and will never shop there again. Tony in Sidney.

I bought a bed from Buy & Save, but postponed picking it up until I could borrow a truck. Two days…read morelater, a friend gave me a bed, so I phoned B&S to ask if I could cancel the transaction. They then informed me that they would charge me a 20% fee. This policy was not stated at the time of purchase, is not posted any where in the store, nor printed on my receipt. It cost me $140 and they would not even negotiate that. In fact the old woman was downright RUDE! The bed was never moved in their store and it didn't inconvienence them in anyway. I will NEVER step foot in this store again! They have terrible customer service!

The movers had tracked dirt all over my new place, and since I didn't own a vacuum I realized I'd better hop to. Peninsula Vacuum is under new management, and the new boss is working hard to make the shop tip-top. He has over 30 years' experience in the business, and stocks a range of new and refurbished models for any budget. He also stocks lots of vacuum parts and bags, and does repairs. I had been hoping for a used machine but he explained that they were all sold out after the holiday, which made me wonder how many people got used vacuums for Christmas! I described my carpet and apartment layout to him, and recommended a Fuller canister model (remember the Fuller Brush Man from the 1940's? Same company!) He demonstrated the machine thoroughly and carried it to my car after the purchase. My new vacuum does a great job, and i's quiet enough that I can actually play music while using it. "Everybody Loves Somebody" by Dean Martin is great vacuuming music!
