Avengers Campus is the area at Disney California Adventure Park based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It opened in 2021 and is designed to be like the Marvel superhero headquarters. It replaced what used to be the A Bug's Land area. The main attractions of the campus are the Web Slingers and Guardians of the Galaxy rides. You will see some superheroes roaming around like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, and others. Avengers Campus is located in Disney's California Adventures (DCA). It basically is between Cars Land and Hollywood Area. R I D E S There are really only 2 rides in this area: Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout (aka Hollywood Tower of Terror) and Spiderman's Web Slingers. Guardian's is probably the most impacted ride. Probably because it's one of the only thrill rides in the park and there are 6 different versions of the ride (different songs and videos played). It also has a photo opportunity at the top. Webslingers is okay but I can't seem to get my webslingers to work. I'm always the person with the lowest score. A T T R A C T I O N S So there are Meet & Greets with Marvel characters as well as a show by the Dora Milaje. Other than that they have shops as well as Pim's Kitchen. They use to have a Spiderman show which was unfortunately down and not running when we went but I think it's back. O V E R A L L I feel like this was a lost opportunity. There's a few areas for good photo ops but it's a pretty dead area outside of the rides. But for those who love Marvel, then it's your area to explore and enjoy. read more

I'm really glad that Disneyland has announced that they'll be upgrading and expanding the current Avengers Campus (AC), because it's one of my favorite areas in California Adventure park. The theming is pretty cool as-is, but it should be even better if they can add a bit more Disney magic. As it stands now, AC is cold and grey, with lots of concrete and nondescript buildings and harshly-angled architecture. The best part of AC is when various Marvel characters roam around for meet and greets. You can meet Captain America (both old and new), Black Panther, Miss Marvel, Falcon, Spider-Man, Thor, Loki, Black Widow, and my favorite, Doctor Strange! Randomly, there will be shows featuring Wakanda warriors, and a pretty nifty little stunt show with Black Widow and Black Panther! If you are a Marvel fan, you'll want to hang around this area of the park for a while - you never know who you might meet! Attractions-wise, there's the Spider-Man ride and the Guardians of the Galaxy ride (the former Tower of Terror). More rides would be great, obviously. AC is also home to my very favorite restaurant in all of Disneyland: Pym's Test Kitchen! This place has great food and an inventive menu. Try the giant pretzel or the gourmet grilled cheese! AC is an area of the park that has a ton of potential, and I'm confident Disney is going to make it even better with their newly announced changes and enhancements. read more

Hubby, our daughters and I love Avengers and had a blast here! Even got to meet and chat with Black Widow, my eldest and I's favorite Avenger!! Her fighting skills are so bad a*# and she can calm my 2nd favorite Avenger the Incredible Hulk! Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off was very entertaining to watch while baby and I waited for sis and daddy while they went on Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT ride! You should have seen our wicked dance moves lol! WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure was a fun interactive 3D ride! You blast Spider-Bots using hand motions, lol I didn't get many points since baby was asleep in my arms. I would recommend visiting next time you are in Disney California Adventure! 4++ I'm a big fan of Marvel and was very excited for this area to open. I like how there are a lot of characters walking around and there are periodic shows. There are also fun places to eat and drink like the test kitchen or the food stands with shawarma or fun treats. Avengers Campus is located inside Disney California Adventure. It's right after the Hollywood Blvd. area and before the Cars themed area. Avengers Campus is one of the newer areas that has opened in Disneyland California Adventure. It replaced the themed area from a Bug's life, opening in June 2021. There are several outside shows playing at the Avengers Campus. Right now, there is Storytime with Deadpool, The Amazing Spiderman, Martial Arts show featuring Wakanda, and the Doctor Strange show at the Ancient Sanctum. There are two rides themed in this area, the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and the WEB Slingers - a Spiderman Adventure. The Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout was previously the Twilight of Terror. It's a dark, thrill ride that has large drops. I've only rode the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, twice with my daughter. Thee Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure is an interactive 3D ride. You get to help Spiderman wrangle rogue spider-bots! When you're on this ride, you get to shoot webs from your hands to save the day! There is a mini-pre show to this ride too! If you're looking for something to eat, Pym's Test Kitchen is located at the Avenger's Campus. You can enjoy oversized or miniaturized portions theme of Pym Technologies! Their pretzel is huge, but it's super soft and has just the right amount of salt! Avengers Campus is relatively small. Avengers Campus is a land located within Disney California Adventure (DCA) Park. There is a cool Marvel vibe with the music from the movies and HQ. Got to see a mini-show with Spider-Man and later caught the last couple of minutes of Black Widow's mini-show. My nephews really liked the Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man Webslingers rides. I am not a roller coaster gal myself but, if they're happy, I'm happy. There are gift shops and I was able to find a nice Avengers shirt for the hubby. We didn't eat in this section of DCA but, Pym Test Kitchen and a Shawarma stand (reference to one of the movies) are the available eats places. Also fun to have photo opps with characters walking around. We saw Black Widow and Black Panther. This land is smaller than what I thought it would be but, very good overall. 4 stars! read more

It was no surprise that after Disney built Galaxy's Edge for Star Wars fans that Marvel would be next to get their own themed land. Avengers Campus is located at Disney California Adventure. I will admit that I was a little bummed that they closed A Bug's Land to make room for this expansion. But I understand Marvel is Disney's biggest money-maker next to Star Wars. Walt Disney Company purchased Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion in 2009. As part of the expansion, they absorbed nearby Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! into this land. The pandemic really killed the hype for Avengers Campus because the opening was delayed several times. I only just recently visited it for the first time. I was a little underwhelmed when I first walked through it. I enjoyed the overall look of Avengers Campus, but it felt like its needed a little more. I find it interesting that even though Disney acquired Marvel in 2009, they cannot use the "Marvel" name at Avengers Campus due to a previous contact Marvel had with Universal theme parks. I like that they put a dedication plaque for the late Stan Lee at the entrance to Avengers Campus. Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure is the new ride built for this land which I found to be nothing special. There are superhero encounters and I was able to get my photo with Black Widow. I did enjoy the Spider-Man stunt show. For food, there is Pym Test Kitchen and a Shawarma place (a nod to the original Avengers movie), Other than some gift shops, there isn't much else. I am happy that Disney built a land for Marvel fans. The Avengers Headquarters looks awesome and the costumes used for the character appearances are pretty cool. But I can't help feeling that it is lacking. They did recently close the Dr. Strange show after only a short time. At the 2024 D23 Disney Expo, they announced an expansion to Avengers Campus that will include two new rides - Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Avengers Campus is pretty dang amazing! I have to admit that I have missed a lot that this land has to offer. Most of the time I am focused on the rides. But when you take the time to slow down and enjoy the campus, there's actually a lot to appreciate! The shops are pretty amazing! And some of the areas with the architecture are wild. For example the area devoted to Doctor Strange. How cool is all of that!? Perfect photo opportunity!! And all the avengers characters here are great! I love it. I love walking around avengers campus! It felt like you had dropped Wright into the avengers universe. Disney never skimps on the details and there was so much to do and look at it while you were walking around. I'm sure my next visit I'll find more things that I missed this time around. read more

I remember waiting for Avengers Campus to open. I was so excited after seeing Galaxy's Edge to see what they would do with one of my favorite franchises. It was different, not as visually appealing I do not think as GE. Pymm's is really cool and has lots of fun food and drinks (gotta try the tater tots and the chocosmash!) The character meet and greets are pretty awesome as well. Ride wise Mission Breakout is one of my favorite rides (even though I am scared of heights) and I love Spiderman (my favorite) but the ride is ok and your arms are really sore after (I would ride again but not wait in an hour and a half line in the heat like we did before) 20-25 minute wait would be my max. Plenty of fun food, drinks, shawarma of course (Avengers favorite), and shopping and two new rides coming in the near future. My favorite time to walk through is at night. It is just so beautiful and subtly lit up. We do miss Spidey flying through the air. read more

Located inside Disney California Adventure this is one of the lands in park that has two rides and lots of entertainment spots from Marvel Characters. The music and ambience is all marvel. They have food as well around the campus. Overall a cool land in DCA especially when you can get pics with the Marvel characters. Their eating spot Pym Test Kitchen has some unusual types of foods but also have a bar that serves alcohol. The two rides Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Break out. And Spider-Man's Webslingers. If you're also underwhelmed and disappointed, raise your hand. This land is so small that you'd wonder if Pym Tech shrunk it. It's literally the length of a small street. Turn one corner, and you'll see Dr. Strange at a live show. Turn the other corner, and you'll see the large Avengers building with the truck outside. There's a show that plays on top of the building with bad actors. There's like one ride. The Spiderman ride, Web Slingers. This campus could have been so much more! You also have a Shawarma cart or Pym Cafe, then some gift shops, and you're done. I felt underwhelmed, and it definitely felt like an afterthought just to fill up space. read more

Avengers campus is where my husband and I saw part of a martial arts show featuring Wakanda. It's not a very large area of CA Adventure park. There are only two rides here: Guardians of the Galaxy Mission breakout-(reviewed separately) and WEB slingers-a Spiderman adventure. The WEB slingers seemed more like an interactive game so we decided to forgo it. The primary dining area here is Pym's test kitchen and tasting lab. Since we ate elsewhere we did not visit this place. We did manage to see a bit of a show in the Ancient Sanctum. That place is so small that they have people hanging over the side walls just to get a look. They need to make that bigger to accomodate more guests. We also saw the tail end of the Spiderman show as we were walking by. If you are a fan of Marvel Superheroes then they have several gift shops. Stop by the Collector's warehouse for a varied supply of toys, apparel, and comics. WEB suppliers is the store to stock up on everything you need to prepare for the action packed adventures here. They sell clothes, pins, housewares, and toys and plush. Mobie checkout is available here. If you like Marvel superheroes then this is the place for you to visit. If not then check out Guardians of the Galaxy Mission breakout. That attraction speaks for itself! read more

I'd give Avengers Campus 4 stars only because of the Web Slingers ride. I'm always out of breath after this ride. My friends and I always make it a competition and try to place on the leader board. I feel like they should add one more ride. The space is lacking and there's not much to do or see. Pym's Test Kitchen is okay. Marvel-themed, they've done a good job making a large and imposing Avengers HQ and we enjoyed the costumed characters the most which pace HQ, come out for photo ops, or do live shows. All of these are centralized around Avengers HQ and you get great views of it eating at Pyms Test Kitchen. Web Slinger is not worth it, it's a short video game you wait a long time to play and I'm saddened as theme parks go this route, so much less successful than rides with practical effects and animatronics. The Guardians ride replaced Tower of Terror and if you watch people exiting it's obvious some people didn't understand it's an elevator-drop style ride. The third ride won't be open for awhile so main-draw is the food and characters. The Spiderman live show is amazing, short but sweet with a pretty significant arial launch. There is a phot-op right after with an enthusiastic Spiderman. Okoye is a master with the spear and will get the crowd pumped up, just as incredible is doing it in 91F heat. Black Widow, Falcon, Ant-man, etc... also made appearances during our short time there. We heard the Shawarma carts were good and wish we partook, it looked less heavy then some of the other food we ate. read more

Avengers Campus...it is the latest and greatest addition to Disney, it opened on June 4, 2021. It is in the California Adventure Park between Cars Land and Hollywood Land. Right now everything still has that brand new glow. But there is not much to do or see here, all a bit underwhelming. Rides: + Guardians of the Galaxy + Webslingers. Ya gotta virtual queue up on the Disneyland app to try your luck to get a ride confirmation. There are only two daily enrollment times, 7am and high noon. Food: + Shawarma Palace Cart. Get your Ironman Infinity Gauntlet $28, chicken shawarma, and falafels here. + Terran Treat Cart serving up Terran pineapple churros $6 and Cosmic Cream Orbs $6 which are cream puffs filled with whipped raspberry cheesecake. + PYM Test Kitchen. + PYM Drink Lab. Neat Things: + Ancient Santum. This is where Dr Strange does his mystical thing. Towards the left is the optical illusion of the sinking floor. Great selfie photo opp. The entire Sanctum is super small and does not hold a lot people. Why didn't they make this larger or at least put in some seating? It is standing room only. I wanted to see the show but it filled up quick. Characters: These characters pop up at random times. + Spider Man (animatronic) pops up on top of the Webslinger ride building. He'll swing about for a few minutes. + Loki + Thor + IronMan + Black Widow + Peter Quill ( Star Lord) + Gamora +Wakanda Royal Guards. They perform on a elevated stage near the Ancient Sanctum. With only a few rides and another two or three attractions to see, it's not worth having to wait an hour for anything on this side of the park. There is a quick show displayed on the top, right outside of the restaurant but nothing to get too excited over. You'll see all sorts of Avengers Toys available but they aren't cheap by any means. There's a robot spider that will set you back for close to $100 and all the other Avengers Swag for $10-$80! Definitely not meant to window shop here lol read more

10-1-21 We began our morning straight to this newest section of DCA. Starting with breakfast from Pym Test Kitchen then walking around curious to see what it encompassed. There was always a costumed character high up on the tall building's top landing either solo or in a fight scene. Crowds gathered and followed an Avenger soldier who ranted for quite awhile as we finished off our morning meal. There was a virtual attraction on the left hand side but you needed special reservations to join in. My boyfriend and I were able to check this place out on June 10th for his actual birthday! We lined up to get to Disney pretty early, so by the time were let in we were in the Avengers Campus by 8:30am. The campus is not as big as I thought it would be, but definitely makes up for it with what it has to offer when it comes to character meet and greets and ride experience. There are a ton of characters that come in and out throughout the day. Since the campus isn't based on a specific timeline from the Avengers Universe, you can still see Iron Man, Black Panther, and the original Captain America making their appearance. Other characters (from the ones that I actually got to see while I was there) include, Spider-Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Loki, Dr. Strange, Okoye, the Wasp, and Antman. There are a few "shows" that happen with the main one being the new stunt animatronic Spider-Man that comes out whenever Spider-Man demonstrates Stark's latest technology. (You will know when this happens when this is about to horn when you hear Spider-Man's voice over the intercom on campus and starts performing stunts closer to the Avenger Campus entrance sign). Dr. Strange performs magic in his corner stating in the afternoon around 2:20pm, so make sure to line up early. Black Widow performs a stunt show at at the Avengers Headquarters. And Okoye comes out to show how we can be warriors for Wakanda by sharing techniques and chants. The main place to eat is Pym Test Kitchen (check out my review for this place on their Yelp page hehe) and a cart that sells shawarma and Iron Man's Infinity Gauntlet drink holders. There is also, one store that sells mostly the gadgets you can use on the new Web Slingers ride and also adopt your own Spiderbot to battle other people with. The two rides available are Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and The Web Slingers Ride. Be prepared to get an arm workout for that one lolz It was an overall great experience in the Avengers Campus and if you want to beat the morning crowds, you should definitely check it out around 5pm when the line starts dying down to get in. read more

It's a relatively small "land" when you compare this to Batuu, but overall it's got potential! What's great about Avengers Campus is that you see all types of Marvel characters walking around through the Campus. The Spiderman show that they have in the middle of the campus is a bit underwhelming, and the shawarma...well, let's just say that was not the business. I love how the characters are great at playing their role when a guest talks to them. I'm sure they'll continue to build on Avengers Campus, making this place bigger and better in the future! read more

I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't...this. Don't get me wrong, this new "land" at DCA is open with lots of fun Marvel-specific themes running through it, but it's kind of small. And feels empty. There just isn't a lot to *do* here. Not yet, at least. I'm guessing they have plans to expand? But really, right now, in this moment, it's kind of lacking. I was lucky enough to get us into the virtual queue for Web Slingers, but because our group number was so high, we had a ton of time to kill between park opening and our line-up time. My first impression of the land was "wow, that's where [insert Bug's Land-specific ride/attraction/spot/store here] was". My second impression was, "this is it?", which I said to myself as we exited the land on the other side. It really is quite a quick stroll through the land, with only a few things to catch one's attention. There's the dining, of course - the kitchens and the Shawarma wagons (more on that in my specific review). There was one store that we wandered into, some fun Spidey-themed bathroom exteriors, and...that's it. They did seem to be on overdrive with the character interactions, at least. There never seemed to be a lack of Black Panther/Marvel/Spidey themed characters walking around, "meeting" the guests, or hosting interactions. It clogged up the walkways right quick when those interactions were going on, but that's to be expected, I suppose. I really was quite excited to visit the Campus, but walked away feeling more than a little underwhelmed. There just isn't enough to keep you there. This is the MCU themed area in California Adventure Park - for me it's a big disappointment. They have set up a building matching the Avenger's headquarters. The campus includes the web slinger ride, Sanctum, Pym test cafe etc. They have some shows going on all the time and a lot of photo opps. Spiderman show is damn good. Others are below average. And this place is filled with awful actors. Most of them talked like they are damn serious and it almost cracked me up. Photo opps don't have any schedule. They show up whenever they feel like and you should be lucky to be there to get a chance. Average experience to be honest. read more

Avengers Campus is currently small, and definitely a work-in-progress. Bc it's so small, it doesn't feel as immersive as Galaxy's Edge. But there's definitely the sense that future expansion is in the works. The one upside of Avengers Campus is that there are lots of opportunities for hero encounters - on several occasions, we've met Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain America, Black Panther & warriors from Wakanda, and stood feet away from the Guardians of the Galaxy as they performed a dance off. The only hero who seems to remain on the rooftops is Spider-Man. read more

**During Quarantine Review: June 2021 Visit** I visited Avengers Campus during Opening Weekend (Saturday June 5th) and had a blast; however, I can absolutely see how others may not feel the same way. For one thing reservations for Spiderman's Webslingers is an absolute must. Not only will you be able to ride that attraction it also gives you preference to enter the land. Otherwise, you'll need to stand in the standby queue and I've had friends wait between 4-5 hours just to enter (at least during the first month I imagine). This is with 35% capacity and all guests are required to wear masks. There was also a temperature screening before entering the park. Over the past several years Disney implemented an online reservation system for crowd control and while I understand the intention to me it's an extremely stressful process as slots get filled up within seconds. There are two opportunities for guests to grab a reservation time slot (and yes you can link up your friend's tickets so you all get to go during that time!). One at 7am and one at 12pm. Thankfully, my friend was able to secure a timeslot and we were among the first to experience Webslingers and Avengers Campus within the first hour of the park opening. As for the land itself, I really enjoyed the character interactions and mini performances. They were engaging and very true to their characters profile. The campus is pretty small though. There's two attractions (Webslingers and Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout), one souvenir shop, one restaurant (Pym's Kitchen), two Sharma Carts, at least one Treats Carts, and at least two areas selling the Iron Man gauntlet soda holders. Near the hyperion theater there's ample seating to rest and/or enjoy food. Overall, I really enjoyed my time there and if you're able to secure a Webslingers reservation I know you will too! The hype is semi real! I came day 2 of opening and it was a s... show. We did not get morning boarding so we waited 2+ hours in queue at opening to get in. We entered CAA at 8 am, the queue line moved from the entrance all the way to the pier. We entered the campus at around 10:30 am. Automatic entry into the campus, you need a boarding pass to web slingers. No queue needed. If not you have to wait in line to enter the campus. Pretty small area compared to Cars Land. Decor looks like you are walking down DTLA with random space ships. It was too realistic to be amazing. Spiderman show at the entrance was pretty awesome. I love the flying! Kiddos loved taking pics with him at the end. Food was a joke here. Lines were impossible, preordering system was trash. Pym was the most hyped but impossible to even get a drink. Shawarma Palace was good and the only walk up food you can get in the campus. Line moved like a snail though. The store was pretty cool. Lots of spidey bots. Guardians and Web Slingers are the main rides. They have live shows all over the campus. The Black Widow was pretty cool. Super crowded by afternoon. Expected a lot more but cool to experience once. read more

I must admit I am not the biggest Avenger fan. But this place is fantastic! It was the land I never knew I always needed! I do enjoy many of the marvel characters, so to see them up close and personal was thrilling. They have many of the favorites either wandering around or performing at the campus. We did catch a glimpse of Black Panther and others. We went on the Spidie ride which is very interactive and super fun, and The Guardians ride, which is arguably one of the best rides in both parks combined. The food looked really good. I did not eat anything here but Pims looked fantastic. I saw so many people carrying around the lab beaker drinks. The shwarma looked good. I would have liked to have tried it to see how authentic is tastes since I come from a place with some of the best shwarma in the U.S. Because Disney typically gets food right. They also sold the new space Coke on campus. If you have never tried it, it is a fun experience. It is not my favorite, but it does have a strange cotton candy, fruit flavor, and this is the perfect place to have space Coke. It really goes well with the theming. The gift shops in the area are fun too. They have a giant shop filled with fun imitation artifacts from the different movies for sale plus all of the favorite character themed souvenirs. My favorite is Spider-man and that universe. They also sell those cute mechanical spiders from the Spidie ride which they will let you play with inside and outside the shops. It just a really fun atmosphere and fun vibe here at the campus. It allows you to have a break from the classic Disney for the more contemporary favorites of superhero fans. I would love to come back and spend more time here, maybe even see a few more movies to fully appreciate this place even more. read more

Avengers campus is a really cool new addition to Disneyland, California adventure. I don't really know much about avengers or superheroes, but I find the area really interesting. The characters have a really fun show, two shows actually, and the rides in this area are really great. read more

I want to like this place, I really do, but it's so... Disney. Everything is really expensive, the menus could offer more options, and there is really only the 1 ride. Plus the characters do interact with you, but if they are on the raised walkway or near the QuinnJet, they just kind of look at you and wave. Overall, it's just...me. A fun area of DCA. My kids really like all the character interactions. The only downside is that not all characters stop for photos. You have to walk and take video. It is a fun little land. It needs more. The Webslinger ride is very fun and has some repeatability. However, the land needs another ride to increase capacity. Guardians of the Galaxy is technically part of the land. The land needs more shade. Summer days here are brutal. Too . The food choices here are ok. Pyms is here and offers a small variety of family friendly day items to purchase. Merchandise is limited in the land. The weirdest part is that if you want more than some basic Spiderman merchandise, you have to hike all the way to Hollywood Land. The long anticipated Avengers Campus was finally open to the public on Friday June 4th! Located inside Disney's California Adventure, where A Bugs Land previously existed, you'll find an all new area dedicated to those magnificent Marvel superheroes. The footprint is relatively small and narrow. The area currently includes Webslingers (an interactive 3D spiderman ride), Guardians of the Galaxy, two shawarma stands, one treat (Terran Treat) stand, and Pyms Kitchen + Lab. There will also be another ride based on the Quinnjet but that's not projected to open for at least another year or two. There is also one shop that sells webslinger paraphernalia that will boost your points in the ride. As well as the robot spiders. And a kiosk that sells clothing and other merch. Beyond that there are several photo opportunities and places where shows will take place. Such as a Doctor Strange themed area, Spiderman show, and some other vehicles. In all, it's a nice new addition. However there are some needed improvements. For starters, there's hardly any shade. For anyone that remembers the lush landscaping of A Bugs Land, all that is removed. It's almost entirely concrete and hardscaping. We were especially sad to see the massive fiddle leaf fig trees removed - they were gorgeous! If you're looking for a shady respite, the Avengers Campus is not it. About the only spot you'll find greenery is the Doctor Strange corner. We were lucky enough to get Boarding Groups for both days to Webslingers, and thus entry. For others the wait was an excruciating 4-5 hours in standby, just to enter the campus. Mobile Ordering was an absolute nightmare. That opening day they were warning guests that mobile orders did not guarantee them admittance into the area, and thus a ton of food was thrown away. Saturday they changed that policy, according to one CM, but it was also impossible to get a firm answer from anyone. By Sunday there were some issues with the app as it seemed they weren't allowing us to order if we weren't inside AC. But even after we were inside, it still was telling us we weren't. It was frustrating to say the least. Eventually, Sunday afternoon we were able to get mobile orders for the Pym Tasting Lab at 8:55pm. You'll find my review of those drinks on that page, but the fact that they closed up the campus promptly at 9:00pm and scurried us out made us rush our order and dump most of the cocktails since we couldn't walk and drink (due to COVID precautions). We even found the bathrooms to be locked up as we left. When I asked a CM where the nearest open bathrooms were (because I wasn't about to walk a mile back to the hotel with a full bladder!) she rudely said to leave and start heading toward the gates. That rough experience on the last night of our two days trip really soured everything. Disney could, and has, done better for their guests with the opening of new lands. Look at the opening of Cars Land or Star Wars Land - these were timed and limited and the process could have been similar here, even with COVID safety precautions. Even with that weird experience, I am hopeful that things will start to work out. Maybe they'll even put in more shade. Here's hoping to a five star experience on our next trip! read more

First order of business after securing my new Magic Key = visit Avengers Campus immediately! Of course, since Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is the only other newish movie-themed area in the Disneyland Resort, I can't help but compare Avengers Campus to Batuu. Overall, Avengers Campus is still an impressively put together theme park land. My overall thoughts in random note fashion: 1. Food options are either of the sitdown variety at Pym's Test Kitchen or a quick, to-go option in Shawarma Palace. Yes, they turned the Avengers post-credit scene into an actual food option. I'll get into more detail on these in my separate reviews, but the shawarma is LEGIT! 2. You have the new Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure ride, which will definitely require boarding groups for the foreseeable future. Web Suppliers is a store which allows you to buy certain mods to get higher scores on Web Slingers. I've only went on Web Slingers once, and it is a workout for your arms for sure. 3. On random instances, there will be Avengers fighting bad guys as a performance. Definitely exciting to see live action fights! 4. Obviously, Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! (a.k.a. the former Tower of Terror) was always going to be a part of Avengers Campus. For me, the fact that this has already been there for years takes away from the newness of the attraction. 5. From a size perspective, Avengers Campus is honestly kinda small. I was a bit underwhelmed. I would say that Avengers Campus is impressive, but does not reach the heights that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge does. I probably would not have been as impressed if I had to do the boarding group system that they originally had to even get into Avengers Campus. read more

Avengers Campus had been slated to open in the Summer of 2020, then COVID-19 shut down the DLR for 14 months. It was a time of uncertainty and our heroes did not see an end in sight. As restrictions in the state of California gradually lifted, the Disneyland Resort reopened to much fanfare. Avengers Campus opened on June 4, 2021, well after its initial opening date but the crowds have never been bigger. Avengers Campus took over the former Bug's Land area in Disney California Adventure. While the land has a small footprint, it boasts two rides: Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and Spiderman's Webslingers. The Avengers Quinjet has landed near the Guardian's Ride and there is a new restaurant and bar in this part of the park called Pym's Test Kitchen and Pym's Tasting Lab (a la Hank Pym from Antman). There are 2 Schwarma carts were you can get the best schwarma from NYC. There is also a Terran Treats cart near the Guardian's ride as well. Mobile ordering is available at Pym's but only within the land. That may have changed recently as the state lifts restrictions. There are various Marvel characters popping in throughout the day from Thor & Loki, Black Widow, Captain America (both old & new), Black Panther, Dora Milaje, and Spiderman. To enter Avengers Campus, you need to either get in the standby line, hours before the park opens, wait until the end of the day (~7 pm), or get a boarding group for Webslingers. That was when the COVID-19 restrictions were in place. As of June 15th, the restrictions have most been lifted for outdoor capacity so there is no restriction to get into Avengers Campus any longer. However, you still need a boarding group for Webslingers. I visited on June 11th when mask restrictions and capacity restrictions were in place and it was very pleasant.
