We visited this restaurant on Saturday night while visiting a friend in Newcastle. We booked in advance and had to take a late table (9.30pm) as the restaurant was pretty booked up, due to its popularity.
Located in the trendy Quayside area, local nightlife was buzzing and the atmosphere was electric. We arrived at the restaurant early, so had cocktails in the bar while we were waiting for our table. The barman did take some time to make the whiskey sours, which was annoying as they have no table service.
We were seated at our table around 9.25pm which was great, no delays! Our table was facing out towards the DJ box and over the dancefloor. We had already perused the A La Carte menu so knew exactly what we were ordering, although the waitress did advise the starters were small so we ordered two each. I had the Beef and Coriander which came out on Skewers - the beef was so tender, just melted in my mouth; I also had the Chicken Harumaki which were pretty small so I was glad I'd had the beef. The others had the salt and chilli chicken wings, the Duck & Hoi Sin and the Seven Spice chicken wings. All were said to be delicious.
For mains I had the Teriyaki chicken as did my friend, my partner ordered the Teriyaki Rib Eye steak but was upgraded to the Fillet Steak as they had run out of Rib Eye.
The food was impeccable, the service was fantastic and the prices were average for the standard. The decor of the restaurant was a sleek, modern design - very comfortable. I would highly recommend it if you're in the area. But do book in advance as the slots book up quickly. read more
