Coolest place I've seen in Rennes during my stay so far! It's the definition of hipster - vintage posters lining the walls, neon signs, motorcycles hanging from the ceiling. There's a motorcycle shop, retail store, barber shop, tattoo parlor, bar, and restaurant in this bad boy. We came by at 7pm on a Thursday night and it was PACKED. My friend said the last time she came on a Wednesday, there was only half the amount of people. We got some food from the restaurant side. You order at the counter, get a buzzer, and pick up your food when it's ready. I got the Pulled Pork BBQ (€12) which comes with grilled corn on the cob, fries, cole slaw, and bbq sauce. It was a good amount of food and everything was satisfactory. My friend got the Salmon Burger (€12,50) which comes with fries. I liked that there was cream cheese, avocado, and a soft boiled egg inside. Parking is difficult to find - it seemed everyone parked illegally on the streets. read more

We were in Rennes visiting family, and this place was the only place around us that was open on a Sunday. It was INCREDIBLE! The atmosphere is unlike any bar I've ever been in, and the service and food was outstanding. Only bummer is the BBQ was done for the day, but we just ordered something else. And they had a tattoo parlor and a barber in the bar! Granted they were closed on Sunday, but still! Save room for the ice cream. Trust me, I'm still thinking about it. I got an Oreo waffle cone with Speculoos ice cream and Nutella on top and I'm salivating just typing this review. If we're ever back in Rennes, we will be going back to AVEC. read more
