I am a silly American. I am constantly aware of time, efficiency, and cost. It will take more than two months in Rennes to beat this out of me, and I am constantly making cultural faux-pas wherever I go.
Suffice it to say, I tried to rush the owner to accomodate my friends who had a train to catch. He was very patient with us, and we finished dinner with more than enough time to make the train. I felt very silly, especially considering we were a table of six, and there was only one of him, and we had enough time left to order crêpes sucré to finish our meal.
And now, the food. I ordered the forêt galette, which had crème fraîche, ham, and green onions. It was superb!
