If you tour here ask to see more than one apartment and look closely at ceilings for leaks etc Update: the management and office staff are HORRIBLE.

The apartments are spacious, not new though - squares of hardwood floor tend to unstick on their own accord; bathroom appliances are old as well. We had an issue of half a window frame collapsing during a heavy rainstorm and had to wait for several days for it to dry before it was fixed. But the maintenance team is nice and responsive, which is a big plus even if the choice of the leasing managers is unfortunate. Note that the buildings are right by the pike, traffic noise comes in when the windows are open. Blinds are not included, unless you're lucky to have a prior tenant leaving theirs behind.

They are out from dusk to dawn and dawn to dusk clearing and salting the sidewalks and the parking lots. They always shovel between our cars but this year they even cleared our cars of all the accumulated wet snow. The maintenance team and office staff our all extremely friendly and responsive. It is a pleasure to live here. It is like a big family! We plan to be here for a long time.

Management tries to foster a great sense of community by holiday events, which are enjoyed immensely. The apartments speak for themselves. The only recurrent complaints are the high utility costs which Apparently is because the utility company in this area is quite expensive, therefore it seems to be intrinsic for this neighborhood. From the owners I've bumped into recently they cannot sell their unit without a loss. HOA is very high now. It was half the amount they are paying now when I lived there. I resigned from the board after the board wanted to take out a $1m loan without approval of the residents. I heard they took out $2m. I know every default in those buildings. As much as I loved my condo, I could not stay know that the costs to maintain it would sky rocket. I told resident to find my minutes in the archives and it would tell them everything that was wrong with the complex.

For the most part, HOA fees are high, but the need of this community requires even more upkeep than owners are willing to pay for. That said managed has in fact done a remarkable job with necessary maintenance & upkeep. I was on the Council several years and I know it's not easy to please everyone. But just drive around the neighborhood and you'll see it is amazing to find such affordable living space in an area where the average houses range around $500,000. Everything you need is close by, excellent schools, and contrary to some comical comments I saw, there is no more quiet place to live (perhaps even TOO quiet at times).
