Also she luckily spoke canto, so if you need help translating from mandarin, she can assist! LEO HAS GREAT TECHNIQUE! And confidence. I let him decide what best suits my face. Great experience, really knows how to work with my thin hair. And his blow dry game is crazy.

He really nailed the layered haircut and gave me good advice. (It's helpful but not necessary to know Chinese before coming here. I just showed lots of reference photos to describe which parts I liked and wanted to my hair style.) My hair was super long and flat before but I actually love the layers and curtain bangs now. I think this cut was super worth and cost $70 for the cut and blowout. I'll definitely be coming back!

Pro's: they definitely know what they're doing! I like that they think about what's best for your hair instead of just taking the money. I originally wanted to get an ombré in a very light shade. Instead of frying my hair they guided me into doing it gradually once I grow the box dye color out. They even did a test and put bleach in a thin chunk of my hair to see how fast it could lighten but it didn't. I had also asked for a textured cut like an inspo photo I showed, and they did an amazing job! I definitely see why they have great reviews. Con's: I took away one star only because each time I've come here with a 10 am appointment which is the first of the day they're already busy. They end up taking way too many clients at the same time so it really makes your appointment go by even slower. The last time I went just for a root touch up I was there from 10 am - 3 pm. They were going between clients so much that it was becoming frustrating just sitting there waiting to get your hair washed for almost one hour. I also took away one star because I feel like paying over a hundred dollars for shoulder length hair root touch up that took 5 hours is a lot. They also don't speak English very fluently so unless you speak their dialect language is definitely a barrier here. It's by appointment only. Would I come back? Highly unlikely because for me the cons outweighed the pros. Also this place is an hour away for me so to make that drive and be this frustrated every time is not worth it. But if you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out if you're in need of color guidance or a great hair cut.

After he applied conditioner, it got slippery and water sprayed all over. Luckily, I I wasn't soaked, and Ched was very apologetic from beginning to end, how sweet! :) Even though 3 women came in, Ched took his time with me, and didn't rush through. He asked me how I wanted my part, and covered up my lil hole on my top crown. He made my curls tight since my hair was baby fine and topped it off with Suave brand gel hairspray. My curls were awesome, and they held nicely throughout my friend's bday party. Best of all, when I came home and brushed it out before showering, it still looked amazing! *Sighs* had to brush it out otherwise, it'll look like a rat's nest in the morning, lol! The wash and curl took no more than 25 mins to do. Cost was $20 (not including tip). My curls were tight and intact with my baby fine hair. I did notice that unlike Drybar, Ched doesn't put mousse in there first, so some parts of curls were crunchy, but thank goodness not fried. However, my curls held up nicely, and so I was happy :) Located in the same plaza as Game Stop, Arby's and 99 Ranch Market in Alhambra. I would definitely come by again for a hair cut or wash and curl again, yay! :)

Omg I was so happy how my lifeless hair had so much volume and how the front part of my hair framed my face perfectly! Throughout the cut he would stop and just analyze my hair and kept measuring to make sure we didn't go to short and at one point he told me to not be afraid but it's going to look like he's cutting a lot of my hair up top but it won't be much. Thankfully he gave me the warning because I was like omg will I go bald?? LOL When we were done he styled my hair and wow. I feel so light and I look so different! I had a fringe and my bangs were now split down the middle but it flowed so nicely! Leo mentioned I can come back and get a perm so I don't need to style it, I might take him up on his offer! My cut was about $48 not including tip and my fiancé's cut. But I am happy and would want to come back! I haven't had a proper cut in years and have PTSD from previous salons so I always opted for a trim I do myself at home but this visit made me feel amazing!

The lady didn't seem to be paying attention, parting my hair in the way I didn't want it and missing an entire section of my hair. She even jabbed my scalp with an electric shaver and left a mark. I stood up after she styled my hair, removed the collar, and said she was done. Then she suddenly told me to sit back down because she forgot something. She had missed the whole back of my neck and went back in to cut it with scissors and a shaver. She left a ton of prickly pieces of hair debris in my jacket from this, and it's sooo uncomfortable when those pieces stab your skin! The next day, the right side of my head felt heavier than the left. I noticed chunks of hair that were blunt and cut unevenly. I think the positive reviews on this salon are mostly for the man and not the woman hairdresser. The men coming into the salon were practically glowing by the time they walked out. I felt like this woman is here because she needs something to do. I tipped out of pity.

Ok, I do not know why Yelp is not including my review. This is my third visit with Tina! I requested for an ash color but due to my previous dye, Tina was very straightforward with telling me that the ash blonde is questionable. I appreciate her honesty with my request and understand that the outcome may be off. Even so, I still want to move forward and see how my hair turn out. As usual, the color came out great and I absolutely love it! I only trust Tina with my hair. She does such an amazing job! I am now sporting a warm honey brown. Second visit: from a faded purple to a chocolate brown: Just got my color done again! I love the outcome just as much as the my first visit with her. She does such a great job with coloring. Very thorough throughout the process. My hair was in good hands! First visit: got purple hair! First time trying a fun color and it turn out beautifully! As usual, service is excellent here from Tina and her team. The process is long but very enduring due to the comfy environment they provided. Tina took her time to explain to me my hair issues and made a couple of recommendations as well.
