The example I used, explaining that my layers did not have to be this feathery but similar would be nice

Salon owner Tina reached out to me after my first review and offered to fix my haircut for me if I felt I was that unhappy with it. She spent as much time as if it was a whole new haircut- she trimmed my bangs and cut more dramatic layers into my hair like I wanted, and also did a clarifying shampoo for me! She was also a pleasant conversationalist and I feel like that's such an important part of a haircut; after all you're there for an least an hour. She was also happy to give me a rough estimate of the base price for color in the future for my particular length and type of hair, and gave me advice on keeping my naturally dry hair softer and smoother. Needless to say she definitely won me back, and I feel like both her skills and customer service is top notch. I left the salon with that "yay new haircut" happy feeling that you're supposed to have after a good cut! :) I have to keep my hair natural for a few months, but I'm looking forward to letting Tina do her coloring magic on my hair next time. :)

I first found out about Tina through a friend who told me to follow her on Instagram (@vividtina). I saw that she works with a lot of Asian hair and neutral tones for color, so I DMed her. She replied quickly and first told me to take a photo of my hair and asked what I wanted to do. I wanted to color my hair to ash brown (which I also sent a photo of) and also get a haircut to get rid of all my dead ends. Before I met Tina, I've been jumping from salon to salon, asking around friends, and I'm finally relieved and happy to say my search for a hairstylist is FINALLY over!! Thanks to Tina and her assistant Yvonne, I walked out of the salon feeling 100% happy about my hair for the first time in a long long time. It's only been a couple of days and I got so many compliments already, and friends asking me where I got my hair done. Not only did Tina make my hair look AMAZING, but she genuinely cared about the condition of my hair. My hair was coarse and tangled easily (probably because of the dead ends but might also be because of coloring my hair at previous salons), so she gave me really great tips and suggestions on how to take care of my hair and even told me in details what products I would need to treat my hair, as well as maintaining the color. With her advice, I also did a treatment and definitely felt a difference to how my hair felt when I brushed it through my fingers - no tangles and felt a lot silkier. She's super friendly, easy to talk to, accommodating, and SKILLED - the perfect hairstylist!!! I'm SO thankful to have met Tina and trust me, once you go to her you'll never want to go to anyone else. Thanks Tina!!

I discovered Tina's work through Instagram a few years ago and now, whenever I travel to LA, I make an appointment with her. And I confirm to y'all Tina is a very talented artist! She is truly the best. I have Asian black hair with a history of bleaching and stuff and she managed to achieve the results I wanted. She is wonderful! Plus she really takes care of you when you are in her salon. Feels like home! I highly highly recommand Tina to anyone.

THE BEST I'VE EVER HAADDD I came in with severely damaged, uneven, broken hair drier than the sahara desert. Originally I asked to bring up my color higher and stick with my ash/grey with a shadow root. Tina then actually recommended that it was time for a change and suggested rose gold/nude with baby lights, and although this was my first time seeing her, judging from her work on IG, I trusted her 100% and confidently left it up to her by going with whatever she thought would look best for me instead. With the end results, WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS how much I genuinely could not be happier!!! I'm so IN LOOOVE with Tina and her assistant Jennica. Other than being bomb hairdressers they're both so genuine and fun to talk to. Usually my 7-8hr hair sessions in the past would be so dry, awkward, and dragging, but they made it go by like a breeze. By far the best and most enjoyable experience I've ever had getting my hair done, and I can't wait for my next!!

Before the cut . Ughhh.. look how disgusting my hair used to look.

Finally found an amazing hair stylist who cares about your hair and well being !!!! Tina is such a sweet and genuine person, right away she knew something was wrong with my hair . Mind you, my previous cut / hair stylist thinned out my hair so much , it was sad and disgusted looking . Her pricing is reasonable, this first visit was for a hair cut : $50 We are on a process for healthier fuller/thicker length again . I came in for just a haircut and she didn't even try to up sale me for a hair coloring , unlike for some hair stylists they will say and do anything to just make money out of you. She's so informative about the health and care of your hair , such an awesome person ! I'm sticking with her !

FIVE STARS for my new BFFL TINA! After hearing rave reviews from a couple of friends and seeing Tina's IG, I was sold. Booking with her on IG was also super easy but be sure to book her well in advance if you plan on bleaching. I booked Tina for a Saturday and was shocked to learn that I was her only client for the day. At other salons, I've been used to a stylist juggling multiple clients at the same time. Tina explained that because she's dealing with bleach, she has to pay her full and undivided attention to a single client to keep an eye on the lightening. This really goes to show her care for her clients. She easily could have seen other clients while waiting for the bleach to lighten but chose not to for the integrity of my hair. It was such a cool experience having the entire salon to ourselves. Speaking of which, her salon is the cutest thing - it's like walking into a mini greenhouse with all her plants. As a trans person, I'm always super wary of going into any place of business but Tina made me feel right at home the moment I walked in. She heated my food up for me and set it up at her cute cafe table. She even let me use HER phone to stream HER Netflix. Tina never makes promises, but boy, does she deliver! My first visit with her, I asked for beige blonde with dark roots, and she hit the nail right on its head. My follow-up with her, I asked for iced vanilla, and she knew just what to mix - a true visionary! Tina gives you her honest opinion, which includes making your expectations realistic, but then goes on to exceed your wildest expectations. She also explains every step of the way so you know exactly what's happening at all times. She's full of life, and there's never a dull moment with her - the time will fly! Tina maintains quality assurance and holds herself to a high standard. She asked me to see her for a second visit at no charge because she wasn't 100% happy with my hair the first time simply because she wanted my hair to look the best she knows it could look. That really goes to show her integrity compared to other places that would just take your money. If you plan on bleaching, be sure to plan on spending the day at the salon. My first visit for a full bleaching took about 8 hours. Roots for my second visit took about 5-6 hours - as it should. You don't want someone to rush through your precious hair - and Tina understands that! Bring snacks and food - it will be a long day. Her prices are also super reasonable - you don't want to skimp on your hair! Needless to say, I'm coming back to my BFFL TINA. She is always a DM away for my needy ass, and I love her. THANKS, MA

Got my hair done last month and I am going back to do another hair change very soon with this awesome work of art~ She is definitely my go to for hair from now on and reasons why is because she really nails down the color I want and gives me great advice on how to treat my hair. Not only that her prices are great and I am a working college student so she's super great with that ;) her customer service is phenomenal she makes you feel very welcome and is super friendly it's like talking to an older (but not too old) sister!!! Schedule an spot with this rad cat!!!

Tina is the best! Omg I looooooove my hair!!!!!

Tina is THE best for COLOR, CUT & STYLE and can color Asian hair without it turning orange- she uses the best brands like Schwarzkopf, Olaplex and Oribe in my hair. It really does make a difference what products your hairstylist uses!!!! She is a perfectionist and fully detailed with her work. A true artist. I've had numerous people compliment my hair and it stays healthy looking till my next appointment because she teaches you how to care for it and suggest products for you no matter what your budget may be. I have been living in Los Angeles for the past two years and it took me this long to find someone who is really good...like amazingly good. And yes, and will I drive all the way from LA to see her in Arcadia. I've tried 5 different hairstylists before (LA, Beverly Hills) but I found Tina (thanks to INSTAGRAM) and now she is the only one I'll go to. Her rates are absolutely reasonable. For the level of work that she does, it's a steal. You can't find her quality anywhere with that price so you better get her when she's at this rate because I'm pretty sure she's going to blow up. SERIOUSLY.

Playing with red for a hair contest! Tina is the best.

Tina has been coloring and cutting my hair for 5.5 years now, and I can honestly say that I will continue being a loyal customer to her. I've never been disappointed after a session with her - she really understands hair and makes sure she always takes care of its quality. She's equipped in a variety of hairstyles - she's imaginative if you need a nudge, simultaneously being a good listener to give you exactly what you want. She knows how to work with color in a way that always makes my hair stand out. I constantly get positive reactions from people around me. I definitely would recommend her expertise!

Tina is a magician with hair color and can make any color pop! She always makes sure to ask the client what colors they like and provides insight to the coloring process. I love my copper red! Thank you Tina!

TINA IS THE BEST!!!!! Whoever's reading the reviews you can stop RIGHT NOW because TINA WILL NOT DISAPPOINT YOU! BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT NOW!!!! But if you are still reading....here is the story.....I never really get creative with my hair. For the past 15+ years, I've been going to the same hair person my mom goes to. Don't get me wrong, I did occasionally try different salon/ hair stylist here and there but no one I really LOVE. So to be safe, I always go back to my mom's hair person. I've been wanting to change my hair color for the longest time, and friends have done it but never gotten myself around to just do it. Until FATE brought Tina to me! No kidding!! Social media brought her to me and when I saw that she's local, I contacted her right away! She answered my odd questions about my hair and took me in with her earliest available appointment, which is like the next day. Me being me....totally misread the text and messed up on the appointment date. I feel so bad, cause not only I was late, Tina had to wait for me and stay super late to finishing up my hair. She was super nice about it, still took her time to do what she do best and didn't cut corners to save time. She uses the best products to keep my hair looking and feeling amazing. On top of that Tina is so fun to chat with, we chatted like we are besties for the whole entire time! Anyhooo the result was amazing!! I LOVE MY NEW HAIR!! Picture doesn't do its justice cause it's pretty much a different color in every type of lighting!! I got so many compliments cause it is truly a master piece! And yes finally, I found my VERY OWN hair stylist and friend for LIFE!

    Helen T.

Tina is AMAZING!!!! I have done 2 colorings with her along with having her be my hair stylist for my wedding. I will be getting a hair cut and color done later this week :) Tina has great customer service and is very attentive. She has great work ethics where if you or her is unsatisfied with the hair color, she will continue to work on it. Not many people will have this type patience to do that, in this line of work. She understands that we are paying a good price for hair style, so YOU leaving satisfied is very important to her. Give her a try. You will come back again!

    My hair before Tina

I absolutely hands down recommended Tina and her salon!! I was in the search for a new hair stylist/colorist to go to and read great reviews about Tina. I stalked her work on IG which made me feel confident about booking with her. So I msg her and asked if she was taking on new clients. She responded in a timely manner which is a plus. She asked me what date I was looking into booking and made it possible . So let me give you a brief hair story BEFORE Tina. I was going to another person who did my hair and I wasn't happy about how it went down. I had a lot of breakage from all parts of my hair because I was blonde and my old stylist never even considered telling me my hair was breaking. So that's a lessons learned. There is a lot of sacrifices you make when your hair is blonde so I fully understand that. But if a stylist isn't honest about what happens to your hair or if they don't look out for your hairs well-being than most likely you should drop them. I came into my appointment a bit early and Tina took me in right away which is awesome! We talked about my hair and the journey it's been through. I told her I wanted something that my roots can transition into and she gave me her feedback and the colors she thinks that would compliment my hair. She was aware of my hair being super processed and fragile and gave me future things we can possibly do in next sessions. She's very honest and communicates well with what is realistic for your hair. She has a assistant Julia who is also very nice and helpful! Also made me feel very welcomed in the chair Tina told me every detail of colors she used and what she was doing. She even asked if I wanted permanent or semi which I had no clue about. She explained to me that if I do permanent the colors wouldn't wash out so in case i didn't like it I would be stuck with it. She recommended that I do semi . So in the next session I can decide whether I like the colors she mixed. Or she can do more or less of a color based on what I liked. I was ABSOLUTELY blown away by the color she mixed! I walked out that salon really LOVING my hair and I'm happy that I came across her cause I'm forever loyal!!

Pro's: they definitely know what they're doing! I like that they think about what's best for your hair instead of just taking the money. I originally wanted to get an ombré in a very light shade. Instead of frying my hair they guided me into doing it gradually once I grow the box dye color out. They even did a test and put bleach in a thin chunk of my hair to see how fast it could lighten but it didn't. I had also asked for a textured cut like an inspo photo I showed, and they did an amazing job! I definitely see why they have great reviews. Con's: I took away one star only because each time I've come here with a 10 am appointment which is the first of the day they're already busy. They end up taking way too many clients at the same time so it really makes your appointment go by even slower. The last time I went just for a root touch up I was there from 10 am - 3 pm. They were going between clients so much that it was becoming frustrating just sitting there waiting to get your hair washed for almost one hour. I also took away one star because I feel like paying over a hundred dollars for shoulder length hair root touch up that took 5 hours is a lot. They also don't speak English very fluently so unless you speak their dialect language is definitely a barrier here. It's by appointment only. Would I come back? Highly unlikely because for me the cons outweighed the pros. Also this place is an hour away for me so to make that drive and be this frustrated every time is not worth it. But if you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out if you're in need of color guidance or a great hair cut.

It was about 3:30pm when I came in, and no one else was there, which I Iliked since that allowed Ched to take his time with my hair. However, no sooner I did a check in and got into the chair for shampooing, three other women decided to show up and wanting their hair done too, lol! Hahaha, I brought Ched extra business on a slow Friday afternoon ;) Ched gave me a great scalp massage while shampooing my hair. After he applied conditioner, it got slippery and water sprayed all over. Luckily, I I wasn't soaked, and Ched was very apologetic from beginning to end, how sweet! :) Even though 3 women came in, Ched took his time with me, and didn't rush through. He asked me how I wanted my part, and covered up my lil hole on my top crown. He made my curls tight since my hair was baby fine and topped it off with Suave brand gel hairspray. My curls were awesome, and they held nicely throughout my friend's bday party. Best of all, when I came home and brushed it out before showering, it still looked amazing! *Sighs* had to brush it out otherwise, it'll look like a rat's nest in the morning, lol! The wash and curl took no more than 25 mins to do. Cost was $20 (not including tip). My curls were tight and intact with my baby fine hair. I did notice that unlike Drybar, Ched doesn't put mousse in there first, so some parts of curls were crunchy, but thank goodness not fried. However, my curls held up nicely, and so I was happy :) Located in the same plaza as Game Stop, Arby's and 99 Ranch Market in Alhambra. I would definitely come by again for a hair cut or wash and curl again, yay! :)

Tldr: Don't get your hair done by TONY…read more I got my digital perm done about a week ago have been debating whether or not to write a review. However, this whole appointment and the end result was too unpleasant for me to ignore. Tony was the one who did my perm and Tony was unprofessional. Please avoid having Tony do your hair. To start, Tony showed up to the appointment 15 minutes late (and his coworker was telling him his 11 o'clock was there) and then seemed very disinterested in trying to get the service started. Then, after briefly glancing at my reference photo and finding his own- Tony told me that my hair needed to go shorter and proceeded to give the most careless haircut ever. Total hack job. During the perm, Tony rolled each hair extremely tight that he even had to pause to massage his hands. The overly tight rolls bruised my scalp and Tony was so careless with placing the spacers between the rollers and scalp that I actually was tearing up because the pain was so unbearable. And even though I mentioned that it hurt Tony lowkey just ignored it?? To top it off- Tony ran out of rollers HALFWAY throughout the process so I had to wait with the crazy tight rollers for around 30 minutes (I am not exaggerating). And Tony's not the one that informed me about it- Tony's nice coworkers were the ones that continued to check in and keep me updated. Also, the whole salon had 3 digital perms going on (including mine) and they kept grabbing the rollers coming off from another client and directly using it on my hair. I don't know if that's normal but I thought every tool was supposed to be disinfected prior to using it on another client. If the digital perm turned out the way I wanted- I would not be so upset but the curls were MUCH MUCH tighter than I asked for. But mostly the experience sucked. And it sucks because I had come here previously for a regular perm and had such a great experience that I trusted the salon for another appointment. I will not be visiting this salon again. (And clearly I am very upset towards TONY for messing up my hair and being totally incompetent throughout the whole appointment. Also, maybe you wouldn't lose YOUR VAPE IN THE BIN OF DIGITAL HAIR ROLLERS if you weren't too busy vaping while doing your client's hair.)

Ladies, proceed with caution…read more I walked in for a shoulder length haircut with layers. The lady didn't seem to be paying attention, parting my hair in the way I didn't want it and missing an entire section of my hair. She even jabbed my scalp with an electric shaver and left a mark. I stood up after she styled my hair, removed the collar, and said she was done. Then she suddenly told me to sit back down because she forgot something. She had missed the whole back of my neck and went back in to cut it with scissors and a shaver. She left a ton of prickly pieces of hair debris in my jacket from this, and it's sooo uncomfortable when those pieces stab your skin! The next day, the right side of my head felt heavier than the left. I noticed chunks of hair that were blunt and cut unevenly. I think the positive reviews on this salon are mostly for the man and not the woman hairdresser. The men coming into the salon were practically glowing by the time they walked out. I felt like this woman is here because she needs something to do. I tipped out of pity.

Mark is good enough and nice. But the biggest issue is the wife. Extremely disruptive and always…read moreinterrupts him in the middle of cutting hair. No idea what she's nagging him about where they start quarreling. Maybe because she doesn't have customers. I stopped going because I've never seen behavior like that. I mean, it's constant where Mark loses his focus with clipper in hand. Then he alternates that with answering the phone. It's just unprofessional. Prices have also increased. Not worth the 30 bucks.
