**AVOID THIS PLACE"…read more Brought my boat there on August 5 for a Pre-Sale Inspection. I was told they would call me in a day or two with the outcome. I waited a week and a half and stopped in. I was told they didn't know what the problem was, but would call me and let me know what the problem was. A week later, I stopped in and was told it was the fuel pump. I asked to see the readout of the diagnostic machine and was told the mechanic wasn't there, but the boat would be ready by the following Thursday. I went the following Thursday to pick up the boat and was told the part wasn't in yet, but hopefully it would be in on Tuesday, after the Labor Day weekend. No call. I went in the next Thursday and they had replaced the fuel pump, but the boat wasn't ready because they had now found water in the gas tank. (Something they would have found had they performed the inspection correctly.) I was told the boat would be ready the following Wednesday. I went to pick up the boat, and the trailer lights didn't work. I was told they would be fixed on Friday and to come get the boat then. I showed up to get the boat on that Friday, and guess what, it wasn't ready, but would be ready for sure the following Thursday. It wasn't, the mechanic was gone, again, and the owner left to go on vacation. I left for an hour, came back, and the boat was finally ready. I took it to the lake the next morning and made it about 400 yards out before it died. It took a full hour to get it back on the trailer. I took it straight back to the shop and left it last Saturday morning, and was told it would be Monday before they could look at it, so I went back on Tuesday afternoon, after not hearing anything, as usual, and was told by Mike, the owner, that they couldn't really tell what was wrong with it until they put it in the water (meaning the lake). I asked why they didn't do that when I first brought it in (which I expected), and he changed the subject immediately. He said they would put it in the lake that evening, because they really couldn't tell what was wrong with it until it went in the water, again (This never happened). I went back today at 11:00 am and was met by Mike and Allen, and was treated like I was a second-class citizen, an annoyance, and like someone who hadn't already spent $2600 to date. I was told that the injectors needed cleaning and that it would be around $400 plus labor. When I asked what they found when they took the boat on Tuesday and put it in the lake so they could tell what was really wrong with the motor, he said they didn't take it after all, but all four injectors were being pulled that evening, and sent off for cleaning, without asking me what I wanted, which has been their policy all along. Just throw parts at it, never tell me what they were doing, and just pay up! I had already called two other marine repair shops that quoted me between $125 and $135 to clean all four injectors. At this point, I told Mike, the owner, that I would just take the boat and go somewhere else. Nice people who seem completely lost as to what they are doing. Not one time when I asked what something would cost did I get a straight answer. The answer was always, "I don't know." When I asked for a printout or reading of the diagnostic, I was told they couldn't find the invoice. The mechanic, Frank, was never at the shop. Ever. I saw him twice in the last month and a half, the week after I dropped the boat off, and the Friday I picked the boat up to put in the water the next day. When I asked them to call me and tell me what it would cost to repair something, the answer was always, "I don't know." How can someone who supposedly has been in this business for 55 years not know what a fuel pump, or fuel/water separator, or fuel injector costs on the most popular outboard engine in the world? The Yamaha 150 Four Stroke outboard is not a mystery. This should have been the easiest, least expensive repair job ever. RUN from this business, you'll thank me someday

The river was so calm and peaceful. We took our time and really enjoyed the luxury to just be. We saw turtles sunbathing, birds, a bobcat, and had a picnic on the boat ;-) It was a lovely experience. Charles took us to the river and picked us up. He is great; super cool guy and I can tell he knows his stuff! That made me feel confortable with canoeing. Looking forward to our next outing!

We were a crew of 4 flight attendants on a long layover in search of a day adventure. The Trinity River did not disappoint. The water level was high and a little swift at times which we enjoyed. Prepare to see many different birds and we had quite a few fish jump near our canoe. The water was just fine...we did not fear for our lives...the water was clean and what you would expect in a large city. Although you are in Dallas it seems more like a remote river out west at times. Please take heart in our review....we have traveled to every state in the country and tubed, whitewater rafted or gone canoeing in almost all of them if available. Trinity River Expeditions is a must do in Dallas...Thanks Charles!!
