So I found this place through a friend several months ago. We started coming here for the various stones, bracelets, and little things here and there. There is so much here from books, to herbs, essential oils, candles, incense, jewelry, and so much more! Many times I would like to just come in and browse for what felt like forever. It's easy to just lose yourself in there, even with it being such a quaint little location. And all the times I've been in there, weekends and weekdays, there are always quite a few people in there. It's a small place to you can imagine it gets "crowded" quickly. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They never bother you while you are browsing, they just let you be. They are welcoming so you can feel comfortable to ask any questions you may have about anything. I recently (as of yesterday, July 15, 2018) had my first reading. It was.. invigorating to say the least. Angie was welcoming and when I walked into the room with her I felt a safe energy. I was thrown back from the beginning to the end of my 15 minute session with her. I will state that this is the first time I've ever had anything like this done. I was iffy about doing these things because of my own personal guards about it, but gave it a try after a close friend had a great experience the past 3x that she's been to see Angie. I have shopped at Avalon for a number of years now, and each and every single visit has made me feel less welcomed. Some of the employees are curt and overbearing. African and other cultural products are relegated to a small shelf in a back room. Products are inauthentic, overpriced, and the sourcing of them are ethically questionable. Why oh why haven't I been to this store before?? My newfound love for crystals has sent me looking for the best stores in Orlando and I just stumbled upon Avalon this past weekend ! Their variety of stones and the variety of how the stones can be bought is superb. For example, I've been searching for Jade for sometime now to make aa necklace. Their store has jade stone, tumbled stones with a hole so you can create a necklace, raw Jade made into a pendant already, silver necklaces with Jade stones as pendant, Jade rings, Jade bracelets. More than enough Jade for me and everyone else shopping (full house btw). Their prices are beyond reasonable (my necklace was $10.65 total). I love this place. It starts at the door when you walk in, the wonderful scents are so welcoming. Chock full of wonderful items - from books to a huge variety of stones, jewelry, candles and mysticle items. Everyone that works there is super helpful and knowledgeable. Just tell them what you are looking for and they will help you find what you need. Need a new deck of Tarot cards? Check. Need something to chase unwanted spirits away? Check. The store is great but I had an issue with one employee. I asked if they carried an herb and the employee said Publix probably has is it's used in culinary, and said it's probably tasty and then other employees laughed instead of asking what I use it for and educating themselves on its medicinal properties. I was taught by my grandmother that every herb has medicinal properties you just have to know how to use it. So maybe instead of making a joke and laughing at someone else's knowledge try asking questions and learn something you didn't know. Other than that it's a wonderful store. read more

I love this place for getting my incenses and stones. The service is awesome. The staff are really knowledgeable in items to recommend depending what you are needing. Even if you don't know what you are looking for, they can steer you to the right directions. My only complaint which is not their fault is on my visit, there were too many small kids. The kids kept running around and some mixing the stones. Also hogging the section. The staff were busy at the time since they were answering questions. Since this is a small place, it can be a nuisance. Also not to mention the sensitivity of some of their products. Maybe they should have a sign to make parents aware of this. Check this store out if you are looking for a scene from The Craft! This is a local small shop that caters to the magically inclined. It gives me the sense of a store you would come across if you were up north in some small town during fall or a store on a boardwalk. This store is fairly large and have about 5 different rooms. They carry a ton of stuff from artwork, tumbled stones, incense, herbs, clothing, oils, herbs, and tons of books covering many earth-based religions and practices beyond what the store first set out to be, a Wicca centered location. I recently had a reading from the extremely lovely and talented Holly RIggs and she gave me a ton of pointers on how to balance and cleanse my life in various ways. One was to get some stones that would help me with my dreams as well as some sage to cleanse my house. I was able to get those items here as well as check out tons of other stuff. Their prices are extremely reasonable, they have so much variety and the most important thing to me was the energy I felt. So many helpful and kind ladies(spreading their wonderful energy) making sure you are finding what you need and answering any questions you have. Super cool store! I'm not into chakras or stones or any of it really. Just dropped in for some incense, because who doesn't like a good strong atmospheric smell?? Anyway I had heard of the place and figured they would have options. As suspected, they not only had every fragrance, but different brands and styles, even hand-made! There are so many cool stones and books and chachkies. If you're not impressed just browsing through all the things you've never seen before, the staff is very friendly and live by the motto "good vibes only." What's so cool about stores like these is that it's very clear that it couldn't be replicated. My significant other and I were passing through Orlando and I had previously been recommended this metaphysical shop so we decided to go check it out. Since COVID is on the rise they had chairs for us to wait outside in, it was a very short wait and very much worth it! The shop was full of so many awesome crystals, books, oils and herbs!! This place is amazing. I always feel so welcomed when I go in here. It's so inviting and the workers are super helpful and sweet. There's usually a huge line because there is a capacity due to Covid I would just get there early to have more time to browse. They also sell herbs made by their own employees which is amazing! I love supporting small business owners. All in all this place is great and it was the first esoteric shop I had ever been to. To be honest... I got a really bad vibe from this shop. I have never felt like this in a crystal shop. Going crystal shopping usually makes me feel peaceful & happy. I also normally spend $100+ when I go to crystal stores but I only got a bracelet and a palm stone at this store because the energy was very off.. I also got the vibe that they thought I was stealing? Which was strange as it's not like I had a bag with me or was touching my pockets at all. I had both items in my hands the whole time. I was asked twice within the same minute if I needed help with anything and just felt like I was being watched. It's not like I was the only person in the store. I would have loved this shop if the energy was better but I won't be returning. There are plenty of other amazing crystal shops in Orlando. Never again will I shop joann!! Absolutely the worst customer service ever!! I placed an online order for a Christmas gift. Using a gift card of 150$ to apply to the order I applied the gift card leaving me a balance of 6$ When I checked out I got an error message stating that some of my info, email, address was incorrect and to please go back and correct it. When I did go back nothing spread incorrect to me. Note the gift card balance of 150 was gone. I called customer service and the rep was able to look up transaction by the gift card number. He saw the transaction was cancelled and put in a request to reissue gift card . Told me 2 to 3 days to receive email with new card. A week later never got it. Called today spoke with rep who speaks very little English. Had to go trough entire thing again. Was told they sent me a new gc. Never received it. Still unresolved. No one who speaks English can help. Screwed out of 150 and item not in stock!!!!!!!do will shop Michael's only from now on!!! read more

I am totally obsessed with this shop!!! Its so hard to choose because theres so many things if you blink youll miss something. Things are fairly priced as well. Staff is super willing to help or find you help if theyre not sure of the answer. They also do a wonderful job of ensuring guests are wearing masks when they enter and keeping it safe with no more than 10 guests allowed in at a time- which makes shopping much easier if theres not a crowd! read more

I have been shopping at Avalon since 2000, I have always absolutely loved it! I did move away in 2006, but I've made it back here to O'town and my husband and I are frequent customers once again. It has changed a lot, the vibe is slightly less cozy, but still absolutely wonderful. "The New Staff" (lol) are warm, friendly, vibrant, and fun on top of being very helpful. I see them answering questions for other customers when I'm in the shop and it delights me to see such a positive influence on the community.
