They did not use plastic liners in the pedicure tubs, which made me question the sanitation of their equipment. I have rated this before, but I need to rate it again and drop the star count. I've been here numerous times and generally walkout satisfied. However, I do believe that they need to work on the consistency of their quality. I stopped in a few days ago to get a nail color changed on my toenails, literally nothing else but a nail color change. The color that was already on my toenails were faded and were of regular nail polish, not gel. So with this said, removing the previous nail polish was not of any effort. I had to pay $15 which was my fault for not double checking the prices, because I just assumed that a color change was going to be like $7-$8 based on other experiences elsewhere. However, I state again, I paid $15 not including tip to get the color on my toenails changed from one regular nail polish to another regular nail polish. Now that you know I paid $15 for a simple nail color change on my toenails, let me tell you about the quality of this paint job. First of all, I work from home and I wear slides while I'm home so the color of my toenails generally last quite a long time because I'm not constantly wearing socks or doing any type of hard labor, etc. However, without any exaggeration, the color on my toenails chipped on multiple nails the next day. I was so mad and I'm still mad. My toenails look so crappy, definitely not worth $15. I will definitely look for other places nearby, but just giving you a heads up, the quality here is not consistent, so just because you had a good experience a few times doesn't mean that there won't be an equal amount of times where the experience will equally be less than satisfied. read more

I had an honestly not great experience today. When i had told the nail tech what I wanted and we had the initial consult the tech and the man at the front desk basically told me it would take too long(which I had told them I didn't mind the time or price) and I felt as if they didn't want to do it so instead of walking out like i should've I stayed and settled for nails that weren't worth it. . My nails were $115 for acrylic medium length with chrome and pearls. My service only lasted about 45 minutes and I just don't feel that the quality or the service i received matched the price. Terrible inconsistent service,I use the clover app and when I had the 10 dollar voucher they increased the price of the service so I never actually got any money off.they never give you water as offered with the deluxe ,never use lotion on your hands and don't even have you wash your hands .i do not have long nails and do t want long nails and one time the tech told me next time you come back here you have long nails..Really??? .during the pedicure I asked for the liner and they looked at each other started laughing and I have no idea what they were saying...very rude.anyway I wanted to like it because of the hours they are open and it's never crowded but they cut corners and like to have the tourists come it , so they can do a shotty job and they won't be back...what more can I say except if you are looking for quick not professional care then this is the place for you read more

Do not get your nails done here!! My sister and I had 4.30pm appointments for gel pedicures. Waited 15 mins, they then rushed our pedicures as they had other appts scheduled for 5pm. The guy who did mine messed up the gel on my big toe but instead of redoing it, he tried to wipe off the half he messed up and repaint over it which caused a noticeable ridge. Super disappointed in my most recent visit. I have been here a couple times before and left satisfied but today was not good. The first towel that she put down had clippings of other peoples nails on it I probably should have left just after seeing that t be honest. Then the removal of my old nails was awful. I came in with acrylic on and instead of soaking in acetone or buffing to help remove it, she used a plastic tip to go under the edge of my old nails and rip them off. Not only was it uncomfortable, but my natural nail looked so frail and shredded. On top of that, the application of the acrylic powder was sloppy and rushed. I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place yet!! I've been getting bi monthly mani/pedis for about the last 10 years of my life, in that time I've found a lot of nail salons that I love. I am here to tell you the Avalon Nails & Spa is the BEST I've ever found. Perfect location first of all, I love going there, such a premium area. Inside is super comfortable and relaxing, I look forward to going all week. They have the best comfiest massage chairs I've ever sat in. The set up is premium, you get your space to just chill and relax. Oh, and they don't let you lift a finger from the second you walk in! Everyone is so nice and accommodating - they bring the colors to you even for the regular polish so you don't have to stand at the polish wall picking one out. I love that cause I can sit in that nice massage chair with my feet soaking while I take forever to decide on a color. Oh yeah, and they have EVERY color you could want, in regular, gel, and dip! Any picture you show them they will recreate and make it perfect for you. I've been going every other Sunday for about 6 months here and have never had anything less than perfect! Probably the most important aspect of a nail salon for me is cleanliness. I'm so glad to have found such a sparkling clean place that I can trust. They are constantly cleaning and sanitizing. They're so professional about the cleanliness and they just know their stuff. They even fixed my ingrown toenail (sorry tmi) it hasn't hurt since I started going there consistently. I'll make this quick. Been there twice before. This was the third time I've always paid $35-$45 at the most for take off of acrylic and put new ones on. I asked for the black marble. They are just plain black. She said "the black doesn't usually turn out" if I would have known that I would have gotten a different color. Of course! Who wouldn't? So ridiculous. So when leaving they tried to tell me it was $65 total. Wow. What?!? For the marble! They were just black lol. Anyway, don't go here. So..I really wanted to love this place. It's located in a really nice area, very clean inside, very highly rated. Got a mid-level pedicure ($40). Would've just gotten the basic pedi but I wanted my heels done as I have pretty dry feet / calloused heels. They used a heel grater and a pumice stone but spent..I don't know less than 2 minutes on each heel and he had a light touch... It didn't do much to smooth them out unfortunately so I'll use my own tools at home to finish the job. Additionally, due to Covid we aren't allowed to touch the polish bottles (totally understandable) but the color that I selected from the options provided is not great same color that they ended up pulling off the wall. I asked for something pretty close to white (I needed a specific color for a photo shoot) and I got a very translucent nude/pink. Very pretty color, just not what I asked for. These are all things that I am honestly used to in a standard 2.5-3 star nail salon where I'd spend maybe $18 on a pedicure. All that being said..my toes do look really nice!! & He did a great job with my cuticles and the other dry skin around my toes. It's just not what I expected for $40 and a place that has a solid 4-4.5* rating on Yelp. Oh well..I'll keep searching for a reasonably priced place that does a solid pedi in the area. read more

Locals and tourist beware!!!! After reading reviews I felt confident that Avalon was not just another half done get them done as fast as you can tourist nail salon. This visit was for a special event over the weekend. I was and am very disappointed with the services. A "deluxe" pedicure and a set of dip nails was 130$. The deluxe pedicure was a epic disappointment. The red flag should have been when I had to ask for the plastic bag liner for the soaking tub. Returned the next morning after seeing the attemped application of nail polish on my toes. After politely explaining my dissatisfaction with the application, the 2 employees disagreed and it was an exceptable application that was only apparent to me in the light. After suggesting that they were not dry when I left the store. Correcting the employees that they were dry as I sat to recieve a entire application of dip nail powder set. Finally after going back and forth. From there was nothing wrong to I messed the paint up to... They would fix two toes, to me becoming increasingly agitated. I had to demand and insist that the nail paint application is unacceptable and looks terrible. That I want it removed and repainted. Upon sitting and guessing what the color was I chose the morning prior. The tech was going to apply the new color over the polish that I had asked to be removed.. If someone is dissatisfied with the application and does not recall the color of a polish, why would it not be obvious to use the new color on all 10?? After wasting so much of my time I thought it would be an exceptable redo. To my dismay, again disappointed. As I am not an acrobat nor can position myself to the position of the nail tech applying the polish. I depend on the one applying the polish to be able to see. Why was I the only one that could see the poor job? The photos included are from the 2nd attempt. Assuming that a different tech would do a satisfactory job. Yet another failed attempt. Needless to say the pedicure was not worth my time nor over 60$ that I wasted for less then 30 minutes. read more

The whole experience through COVID was great however they are overpriced for low quality nails. Pedi is $25 but if you want color (non gel) its $33 which is absurd. My tips on the other hand were done terribly. My cuticles were not cleaned well and the tips are uneven. Also, the way the acrylic was done seemed like I did it at home. There's soooo much space between my cuticle and the painted nail, it looks like I went 3/4 weeks with overgrown nails. Only a week later and my nails look horrible but they even looked like this day 2. Not impressed for the price one bit. I went in yesterday to do a simple gel manicure and the male attendant who helped me was just down right rude. First, he failed to ask me what shape I wanted for my nails so of course when I noticed that he was shaping them round, I corrected him and asked him to make them square. After he tried to make them square I noticed a few of my nails were not even and some were longer than others so i again asked him to correct them, which he did. After he filed them for the 3rd time I looked over them to ensure the shape was what I wanted, the attendant saw me looking at my nails throughly (as a paying consumer I have the right to ask them to fix my nails if i do not like them) this man gave me the nail file and said "if you don't like them, fix them yourself." I was so angry and so in shock all I could say was "excuse me", what i really wanted to say was "THATS WHAT IM PAYING YOU FOR" this is the service i am supposed to be PAYING for and you treat your customers like that? I didn't even allow him to finish my gel manicure. I left heavily upset and I will not be returning to this nail salon. If your attendants/agents aren't able to ensure your customer is happy with your services then they should not be working in a customer service role. read more
