I chose Avalon Flooring to redo my floors when I bought my home in OC in 2022 and wanted something other than burbur (sp?), and selected engineered hardwood. Liam helped me select my flooring, and Chuck built the team of flooring experts for the project. The project was finished in THREE DAYS! It was incredible. Immaculately done by Flavio and team. I can't tell you how amazing this group was, start to finish. THEN - months later, I ended up walking with a friend with her dogs to the bay by a gazebo. I accidentally left my purse behind. I get a phone call from someone,... I answer it - it's Brian Miller from Avalon Flooring! He's like - I know you! You used to come into the store when you were waiting on your materials to come in! Brian brought me my purse, entire wallet. What an amazing human!? And what an amazing team of folks at Avalon Flooring in Ocean City. Thank you to Liam, Chuck and Brian for everything. Beginning a renovation can challenge the most brave hearted. Dealing with Avalon flooring exceeded all other businesses by far. Liam Hill was professional to the nth degree in navigating the exchange of the original floor tile we selected. The color just did not work in our home. With not a raised eyebrow or snide remark he pleasantly advised for us to return the tile. We reselected to a perfect color and all was right with the world. When we came to pick up the new tile we saw that there was a 25% discount on the tile we were picking up. Without asking Liam credited us back the 25%!!!! I ask ... who does that???? Our project involved 2.5 new bathrooms and flooring. Avalons Brian Miller on Ocean city NJ was very helpful on the selections and design! The project was undertaken during the supply chain challenges and Brian continued to stay on top of deliveries and schedules. He was able to "find" tile we needed that helped us finish the project when some were back ordered. The entire crew at this store is great and helpful even when Brian was unavailable. Selections are large and easy to see how tiles and flooring will look. They know and practice great client service. Would not hesitate to use them again ! read more

Walked in to a 3-person staff and told them I was interested in carpeting. They sent me to the back corner where the carpet samples were to wait. Because the young lady who was available was more interested in her computer than making a quick sale. I sat for 15 minutes and then walked out. read more

I've been to Avalon Carpet everyday for the last five days to select tiles. With my selections completed I went in with my credit card for the third time to finalize the order and was told by a rude woman at the counter , that I'd need to make an appointment. I don't have the time for that nonsense. The sales person was great and worked well with my contractor, the inability to pay was ridiculous. read more

Look elsewhere for flooring. These people were unfriendly and the job wasn't good. The seams are very obvious and they didn't nail down flooring and squeaky boards like we requested. The installers scratched the walls and trim and didn't put things back. We also noticed that there was a lot of waste in the driveway when they were done. Don't buy from them. You can get a better value elsewhere. I'll never use them again! read more

Knew they were having an upcoming sale so went to pick out our flooring and tile for a small bathroom reno. Arrived on sale day, no one greeted us, store was a bit busy but three employees had the opportunity to say "someone will be with you shortly" ...never happened. We knew exactly what we wanted to purchase and turned around and walked out after almost 20 minutes of being ignored. They lost a sale (not a huge one but a sale nonetheless) and we will now give our business to Ocean City Carpet and Tile. read more

Purchased kitchen flooring from them 3 years ago for our rental unit in OCNJ. The job was for the main kitchen, an adjacent pantry and an adjacent utility closet. They did the measuring, we paid for the total amount of materials. But they never finished the job and after two years of trying to get it resolved, we finally gave up and tossed the remaining box of flooring. This summer we went in and bought some area rugs and the woman who rang us up started talking politics. It is never a good idea to politicize your business. Love their selection, but it's doubtful we'll hire them to replace the entire house's carpeting this fall. Why would we go through such a disappointing install process twice? read more

Avalon was an integral part of our Bay Club condo remodel, and we owe the sales associates a debt of thanks. They helped design the size and layout of our bathroom tile (2 bathrooms with shower stalls, tiled walls and backsplashes), our hardwood flooring, and carpet for the bedrooms. Later, they helped us with window shades, and a custom-designed area rug for our home office. But my favorite has to be the heating elements for the bathroom floors! Couldn't ask for more from this local business, and we've gotten tons of compliments from friends and visitors in the building. Highly recommend. read more

My wife and I visited Avalon flooring in OCNJ today. The salesman Michael asked us if we needed any help . I responded we purchased a house in Rio Grande and he seemed to lose interest . He guided us to the hard surface area with a very brief breakdown and went back to staring at his computer . He came back to check on us about 10 minutes later and went back to his computer . We walked towards him a few minutes later hinting we basically need a full house of flooring and he just pointed out the different areas and back to his computer ,With the proper building of rapport he would of found out I live in Ocean City and I am flipping a house in Rio Grande as that's what I do . The house is ready for flooring in about a week or so . I wanted to conduct business in my hometown but ill stick with my current flooring company .I do realize there is one closer to the house but Rather not drive down until I had to meet the measure tech. My wife and I walked out of the store as I muttered I guess he does not want to sell us a whole house of flooring . He left us walk out still staring at his computer and did not say a word . Did not even try to flip us a card or say have a good day . Next customer you get, do not ask can I help you because the response is usually No. TRY - What information can I give you today and then make a friend . SALES 101 .
