The worst Dentist's ever and at 63 I've been to quite a few; both Dr. Benjamin (Dr. Ben) Gilbert…read moreand Dr. La Chandra Akins do shoddy work. Dr. Ben, rushed through my Root Canal when the numbing agent wore off, my tooth was left so jagged, it jabbed into my tongue and inner cheek; every time l moved my mouth to speak, it cut into my skin. The procedure was on Sat., office closed till Tues. so l literally had to take an Emory Board and file my tooth down to get relief. I decided to use Dr. Aikers, the next in-office Dr. from then on; she has a nice bedside manner but her work was horrible too (see pics). She took 5 hours to put on the new crown, then cracked it, then put the old temp crown back on; the pic is the end result of the filed down old crown, put in my mouth which popped out the very next day. I reported them to my Met Life insurance co. to get a refund, they have ignored the request to turn over my records. BEWARE - Dr. Gilbert has (2) locations (Bear, De.) Reporting to BBB and more...

HORRIBLE!!!! ZERO STARS. They do horrible work!!!! You have to continue to follow-up with repairs…read morefrom work they have done. I have spent over $10,000.00k in their office in less than a year on root canals and crowns (with insurance). Both crowns have fallen out in less than 6 months (2 of them), and they do not even match my other teeth. They recemented them back in (charged office visits for repairs on crap work). I cannot even book an appointment because of their cancellation policy. Mind you, I spoke directly to the office and had her note my file that I had not cancelled an appointment and yet they continue to state I did not cancel within 48 hours of the appointment and therefore I am no longer allowed to schedule! So here I am with a mouthful of very expensive broken teeth that need repairs, don't match my remaining teeth and cannot even make an appointment. I can only call on Wednesday mornings and hope someone cancelled. I am in the process of obtaining a new dentist as my last visit to Crescent Dental, 2 weeks ago, resulted in the dentist breaking a perfectly good tooth while repairing the broken crown. So now I have to pay a new dentist to correct the 10k worth of work that I had done at Crescent Dental. I would NOT recommend Crescent Dental. They do not do good work, they are unprofessional, rude, and simply looking to get paid. Yes, they are more expensive than other dentist (Priemer Dentist which means they bill insurance the highest amount and you get stuck paying much more than other local dentist. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!

A large function of my job is practicing discretion which, more times than not, means extending grace to others; people are human after all. Something I always keep in mind when addressing a patron is that I have no idea what might be going on in their life...Unfortunately, I cannot say this office extends the same kind of grace to their patients. Most people wouldn't want to receive multiple fillings on their birthday, however, I did because that is what the office had available; no problem at all. It was not the most pleasant experience, but what filling is, as it left me with a substantial amount soreness (to be expected). I was experiencing enough soreness that performing a teeth cleaning less than 24-hours later was no longer ideal so, in addition to a work conflict, I had to reschedule the teeth cleaning to a later date. Unbeknownst to me, that reschedule was now being held against me; according to the receptionist, the reschedule meant I now have a, "history." The day of my rescheduled appointment arrives and to my surprise, life has thrown me a wrench and I'm now running late. As a courtesy and out of respect, I contact the office to let them know I am running late (reasoning not important) and this is when I learn I have a "history" and therefore can no longer see any of the dentist in the Kirkwood group. It did not matter that I apologized, it did not matter why I had to cancel the first time, it did not matter that I was Not cancelling this time, it did not matter that I had to leave work to care for my dog because no one else could and therefore accepted the consequences of being 20 minutes late- it did not matter that I was a human being having a human-"Life"-moment; none of this mattered to the receptionist who plainly let me know that it is the "discretion of the office to no longer accept me as a patient." While disappointed the office chose to be rigid, I accept my consequences and will find another dentist. It's likely for the best as I am not a big fan of robots. If you are looking for an office where the staff are human beings capable of grace and compassion, you're in the wrong place. Never forget, "Rules are rules" has killed millions of people. Humanity is greater.
