Had the worst experience after getting off the boat and attempting to leave my golf clubs with them. I happened to break a zipper by mistake when handing my bag over so I mentioned to be careful with it and pointed out the break. I was rudely told "we understand sir" and brushed off by the younger gentleman there. I then was asked what my phone number was by the older man (seems like a family affair). Due to the noise around me I was speaking loudly repeating my number in which he looked at me and said, "Are you okay sir, why are you yelling." I explained that the lady next to me was talking loudly and that I was trying to get him my number because he was having trouble hearing me. I explained to him I wasn't yelling in which he wanted to keep arguing with me as well as the rest of the staff. I decided to lug my clubs and bag around all day because of how rude and disrespectful their entire staff was. I got my money back and was able to talk to another business who happily made my day by storing my bag for free. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEAM. They never answered--after several calls--so we had to walk across Avalon to ensure we would have our luggage for our stay. When confronted, they claimed they "only accept Verizon calls," which other local business owners confirmed was false. They refused to show us our bags, then waved us off with a hand gesture and told us to "get a taxi." We came here to drop our luggage after we arrived on Catalina Island on Wednesday the 12th. This place is convenient to use if you get to the island a good amount of time prior to being able to check into your hotel. In our case we couldn't come to our hotel early and store our bags there. I'm not sure how hotels here are with that for the most part. This place is located right where you get off the fairy when you 1st get to the island, so it's super convenient in that regard. They only take cash, and it's basically about 8 bucks a bag. Worth it if you want to not lug your stuff around. read more

Their website recommends making reservations up to 48 hours in advance for delivery to accommodations on the island. we had 4 hours between arrival and check-in time, and wanted to explore while waiting access, then have it delivered. I tried for several days calling them, always got a guy who said call after 3 for the "reservations" person. I proceeded to do that, and no one would ever pick up and or it said the voicemail for the number has not been set up. That should have been two red flags. Make sure you drop off a 1-piece-luggage, if you have a backpack with a tent or sleeping bag attached to it (even though very well secured on the backpack) they will not accept it or they will make you pay much more. We got a large locker which costs $15 for the day plus a $10 deposit. We gave them $30 ($20+$10) and didn't realize we didn't get change until we had left the counter. When we went to return the locker key we explained that we didn't receive change, but Martin said he couldn't do anything about it potentially until the end of the day, so he took down my phone number and Venmo account and said he'd be in touch. As we were leaving the island, I figured it was a lost cause. The next morning, Martin called to say he'd be sending me the $5, and he followed through. It's a small amount of money, but we all greatly appreciated him sticking to his word and following through. TL;DR - Make sure you get change. We had an 11am checkout and a 4:30 boat departure so we needed to store our luggage. We went to talk to these guys the night before the get pricing and to figure out the best options without spending a ton. They were very kind and helpful and showed us how big the lockers were. We ended up checking in our bags for 5$ each. The large lockers could hold several sleeping bags, 3 regular sized backpacks, or two carry on cases (just from looking at them). First they charge whatever they want for each luggage. No policies, instructions or prices listed any where. when asked to open the locker they first said they couldn't do anything about it. Then said later after getting upset with them we can pay them $30 to open up the lockers. Two additional employees came out one said he was the manager and was confrontational and saying racial things like aren't we from la raza like them because of our ethnicity. As far as price goes, great service. They will have your luggage delivered on time to your hotel but as far as customer service goes... awful. On my trip back home I had fraud on my only card, and was unable to access any cash on the island. Our ferry got cancelled so we got stuck on the island one more night and I showed up to try to get our party's luggage out and they were closed. So on top of already taking apart items that were together and nickel and diming us, they charged us an overnight fee and then said if we didn't claim by a certain time in the morning that they would charge us another full day's price. They lied to my cousin about what time they stayed until and when I called them out on it, showed them proof of me going there and calling them, they not only denied lying, they got aggressive, got in my face, and the crazy old man was aggressive pointing and calling me a liar. Then said they would call the police and said I'm not a local and I wouldn't be protected. Um in what f*cking world do you think that kind of customer service and treatment is ok? My son and I wanted to check our bags for a couple hours since we had checked out of camp and had time to kill before our ferry. Stood in line for about 20 minutes. When I gave them our bags and they counted 6...I said no, 5..because one of the bags was 2 small pieces tied together of mask, snorkel, fins...but you pick up with one handle as one bag. I said whatever..if you're going to charge me $10 for that bag then fine! They proceeded to take my bags..then one of the other guys suggested..should we refuse her?? And the 3 agreed yes..we can't take your bags maam..have a nice day! They are on some power trip high horse, knowing they are the only service offering that. Told me it's a family business so they must charge the price to make their money. But the fact I had agreed but they had to make sure to show their power by refusal after the fact is where I consider that bad business. Egotistical power trip that they ride! I want to warn people to stay away from this luggage storage company. We thought we found a great a great solution to keep our luggage safe after we checked out from our hotel and were waiting to return home on the ferry. The guy at the counter promised our stuff would be watched the whole time. Unfortunately my roommate left her brand new work IPhone in her luggage. This was not smart on her part but she didn't want to be tempted to check her work emails. We know it was in the luggage when we stored it since she put it in there at the hotel and we brought our own luggage to the terminal. But, of course, we can't prove it. When I called to let them know that the phone disappeared under their care I was assured that it couldn't have been them. I told them that I wasn't expecting a replacement since I couldn't prove it, but in case other people complained that their items had disappeared they would know they had a problem. I was told that no one else had ever complained and that it was a family business and the guy we dealt with was his brother. He claimed they had cameras and he said he would take my complaint and review it with his sister (who he said was the company lawyer) and get back to me. Of course he never got back to me. My roommate called the Avalon Police to report the theft but they said she had to make a report in person. They then said she could make a report here at the police department in San Diego and they would forward the report to Avalon as a courtesy. The police said this was not the first time they had complaints regarding this company. I'm assuming no one else has complained because it seemed like too much trouble. I had add the business before I could even write my review. I think they are banking on the fact you can't prove they did it, that it is a lot of work to file the police report, and write the review. But we wanted to warn others of their scam. If you do use them make sure you remove anything of importance. Use the self storage lockers outside of the terminal - it would be safer. This put a sour note on an otherwise awesome trip. read more

It sounds like a good idea, but in my opinion, there are much better options. I spent 4 days in Catalina camping with 6 friends. Although we were camping, we don't really travel light. I had a duffel bag, a sleeping bag, a chair and a small backpack/purse. At $8.00 a bag (and they count the chair and sleeping bag each as a bag), it would've cost me $32.00 to take my things 1.5 miles to the campground. The 7 of us pretty much had the same amount of "bags", so for 7 people with 4 bags, they wanted over $200 one way to take our stuff 1.5 miles. When we asked if they had a group rate, the three gentlemen consulted each other (in a different language) and told us they did not have a group rate. After a little brainstorming, we came up with a much cheaper way ($40) to take all our belongings to the campground and an even cheaper and easier way ($20 including tip) to take it back to the dock at the end of our trip. We dropped off our bags and they said they could also deliver our bags when we were ready, so we paid the extra money for this delivery service. A couple hours later we called 6 times trying to get ahold of them to deliver our bags, we finally decided to walk back and retrieve our luggage ourselfs. When we arrived we showed them that we had been been trying to call for over an hour and they stated their "boss" had the phone, yet the "boss" never came out to speak to us. We asked if they could deliver our luggage now one guy said yes and then a rude lady in a different language started arguing with him. He said forget it and just give us our luggage and well be on our way with the refunded money for the delivery service we did not receive. They offered us a whole $10.00 back on a almost $100.00 bill. So for the lack of their common sense on answering a phone we wasted our money and brought out own luggage to our house. read more
