I was initially happy to find a tailor in our local area. It seemed like a trustworthy and…read moreprofessional place and the reviews were promising. Unfortunately, I have not had a positive experience at all. I asked them to re-hem a skirt I hold dear and was promised by a friendly man in the shop that all would be fine. The result is shocking: the new hem is messy (especially on the inside but it is also visible outside), and - much more troubling - it is clear from the location of the original hem holes and the new untidy hem that some material was cut away and they tried to make everything look even. I know a fair bit about tailoring; cutting material away was not necessary. If the tailor felt it was, they ought to have checked with me, by phone if necesssary. This may seem trivial with many pieces of clothing, but with the particular fabric in question it actually changed how the skirt falls, and not in a good way. I don't know what happened, maybe someone had a bad day. Unfortunately the result for me is a partly ruined favorite skirt.

I commissioned two bespoke suits (yeah two together, my bad) with the Cad & The Dandy Saville Row…read morestore. Had read few good articles about them online (now I realize most of them maybe fake). Their staff keeps churning so you rarely have a single point of contact. Seems like the person who took my measurement had no or poor experience at doing this (had to take it twice). As part of any custom tailoring process I went there for the fitting. The suit jacket was way off so they made the markings and called me another day. Went again, same problem. Took marking again and then delivered it next day. Now, I don't even live in London but fell for the Saville Row branding and kept going there. The end result was a horribly stitched suit that literally has a hunchback. Very amateur stitching. I don't' (and can't) wear them so it's a waste of lot of money and time and energy. You would be better off buying a ready to wear suit from M&S (literally) than trying Cad & The Dandy.

Just walking into the office I had people asking where I'd got it from, which speaks for itself. The guys are very friendly - nothing like the stuffy experience you expect to get from a typical tailor. For people like me who've never had a suit made for them before, it removed the nervousness immediately and I wasn't made to feel like a moron! I have no idea how their suits would compare to a full blown Savile Row outfit, but I can only say that they knock the socks off anything you buy off the peg at a similar price.

Every single time the job was completed on time and the quality of work was of a high standard. I feel the service was personal and they really listened to what style I wanted with my jacket. I would continue to use Hidalgo Brothers for my alteration needs; high recommended. As I live in Cardiff and was unable to pick the jacket up after dropping it off - they actually posted my first jacket once it got altered. I received the jacket two weeks later and it was carefully packed in plastic wraps. The work done was perfect - sleeves were perfectly shorted from the shoulders. The second jacket again had sleeves shortened and fabrics removed from the waist. The third jacket had the sleeves lengthened. All were perfectly done and I am very happy.

They did a good job of it, although one pair of trousers had to be done twice (first time they didn't narrow it enough). They are competent and professional, but if not guided tend to err on the side of wide fit (a common thing among English tailors).

A couple of years ago, I had a jacket 'tailor made' in Malaysia…read more Despite initial measurements and a 'fitting' session before the jacket was put together, almost everything was wrong when I went to collect the jacket. The jacket was too long at the hips, there was no curvature at the chest and waist and the inner lining was not properly stitched, excessive and hung out at the cuff. When I got to London, I showed the jacket to one of the suit shops on or near Saville Row to see if they could correct the jacket for me but I was referred to KS tailoring. The team at KS Tailoring with the tailor in the 'front of house' re-shaped the jacket to my contour, corrected all the defects and salvaged this jacket for me. The reason I looked for KS Tailoring again is that I have lost a few buttons on the sleeves and just wanted to make sure they are at the same locations in Piccadilly. I know they will do a good job and quicky.
