My cars battery light came on yesterday and everywhere else i went for a potential battery replacement gave me an estimated 1-2 day wait period. I came to auto zone just to find out there was nothing wrong wrong with the battery or my alternator aside from minor corrosion on the positive terminal. All Auto Zone stores are technically the same, but I've seen service differ widely depending on the location. I went to this store once when they were very busy. I needed to get some headlights and I needed some error codes read on my car so that I could identify why my check engine light was on. The salesman who was going to help me made sure to continually identify that he hadn't forgotten about me as he worked through the queue of people who needed help and arrived before me. They were doing a lot of battery installs and code reads that day. It was nice to know that I wasn't getting overlooked. For reference, all Auto Zone stores will check error codes for free and print out a report of the codes. They also loan tools if you need something to fix an issue right in the parking lot or to install a funky item. The tool rental has helped me out a few times. On this particular visit, the error codes my car reported were pretty broad and signaled four or five different potential problems that would all require very different solutions. The salesman me gave me a few tips to figure out the root cause of the check engine light and told me which items would be cheaper to fix first if my diagnosis didn't return anything useful. That was very useful--he didn't have to do that and it saved me a lot of time searching the web for help. Overall, I'm a fan of this particular store. A close friend's battery died. Triple A finally arrived, jumped the car, but offered no battery service. Called the North Olmsted AutoZone at 8:40. They close at 9:00. The young technician said if she could be there in 15 minutes, he would replace the batter. She arrived at 8:45 & by 8:57 she was on her way. Unbelievable service & kindness!! Stopped to pick up a turn signal light for my van. I asked a guy named Russell (manager) where the light bulbs were. He looked at me and then he looked back at what he was doing and said I will be with you in a minute. Now mind you the only 2 other people that were in the store were employees. All he had to do was tell me what isle the bulbs were in. So I went down another isle and found another employee and he helped me right away. Older guy with whiskers. I guess the manager doesn't have to take care of customers. read more

Wasn't even geeted upon arriving. Every AutoZone is different. Picked up product, waited in line, and kept waiting while employee had conversation with another customer. Man named Russell P. made racist comments and referred to a certain branch of the armed forces as "disposable" and "easily replaceable". I didn't serve but that is totally uncalled for. read more

It really is a crapshoot when walking into this autozone so my best advice to anyone is do some research on the parts you need and if they try to sell you a different brand make sure to ask "do you have the brand name part I want in stock" because I've noticed like any retail company if they don't have it in stock they will push the next brand even if it is a POS. read more

My wife needed to replace a burnt out driver's side headlight bulb on her Jeep, but we knew absolutely nothing about getting one changed out. So feeling empowered after watching a YouTube tutorial, we decided to stop at AutoZone to buy one. The kind and knowledgeable salesman showed us our options, and explained the differences between the various bulbs. We decided to then buy two, so we could upgrade the performance of our headlights. Not only did he take the time to help us choose a pair, but he installed them as well (only took 3 minutes)! The difference between the older and newer headlight bulbs, is 'night and day' (pardon the pun)! read more

I brought in my dead battery and they said they would recharge it for free - for 24hrs. Next day the battery is gone. They say I imagined it. My brother had the receipt so l couldn't prove it. I had just called and a staff member had said it was fully charged. That staff member had disappeared must ran away with my battery, I needed a battery. Since I'm dealing with the manager my choice of 3 batteries from the night before was down to one - the most expensive one. Later, my brother called - a staff member said it there and was fully charged. I went back, the manager said he found the mystery battery but SURPRISE! SURPRISE! It was dead? This is a matter of trust - it sound like you can't trust them to tell you the truth or give you a fair deal. read more

I called up here on Sunday night around 530 1/28/18 to see if they could help find the right transmission oil (I'm sure it's common sense) but I'm a girl and a bit slow when it comes to these types of things lol... unfortunately a name wasn't given but when I asked if someone could help me to check, so I would know how much to put in they told me no they could not help! Because they could be reliable if they put too much or something crazy along those lines...so thanks for the shitty customer service ! I purchased an air filter for my 2016 dodge vehicle two months ago. I was unfamiliar on how to do the replacement myself, so I waited until my next oil change so the mechanic could properly install it (because this is a new vehicle). When I took my car in for service, I was told that I did not have the correct filter. I returned to Autozone to exchange it for the correct one. Unfortunately I couldn't find my receipt. When I arrived at the store and showed them the box, I was told that they do not carry that filter. I then told them the make and year of my vehicle so they could look it up. They then discovered they do carry it. Here the filter that I had was incorrectly labeled (correct part number, wrong filter). Because of this, I was told their was nothing that could be done, and the person waiting on me (which was the store manager) kept making statements insinuating that it wasn't possible that I purchased the filter there and that I must of some how placed the label on the box! Like I was trying to get a free filter!?!?! A $20 filter?!?! I have never been so insulted in my life. I have been a loyal customer to AutoZone, but I assure you, I will NEVER shop at store 1948 again, and I will spread the word to as many people possible about this location. The sad thing is, it was the store manager that waited on me!!! Are the managers trained in customer service etiquette? This literally ruined my entire day. It wasn't the fact I couldn't return it, it was the way I was treated and how it was handled. Especially coming from a store manager. He could have simply said, you can't return the item without a receipt, but to treat me like some kind of lying criminal, Unbelievable. read more
