I made an appointment for today and drove all the way out there, just to be told there's no appointment. They said their online scheduling isn't very reliable. Then either fix it or take it down! I tried to reschedule on-site, despite my annoyance, and asked for an estimate on the services I needed. They said they provide estimates only on the day of service, once the car is on-site. WHAT? I can tell you what my car is, and exactly what I need, but you can't provide an estimate in advance? Ridiculous. I wasted an hour of my time and a gallon of gas on this wild goose chase. Women!!! DON'T GO THERE by yourself or you will be taken advantage of money wise. Long story short I went there because my key was not turning in my ignition. They told me it would cost $868!! I went to the dealership on Monday and their price was $625 at Ken Ganley dealership!!! Wow!!!! And that's at a dealership!!! That's $243 What a difference. I got receipts!! I ended up calling Rob back with the news and he said it was a dealer part so he had to get it from the dealer. I said at that much more of a mark up? Then I asked him how could he sleep with himself at night knowing that he's taking advantage of people charging soooooo much more!! And I told him God Bless Him. They really know their stuff here. They are BMW experts. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Periodic promotional offers. Refer a friend credit. Loaner cars are available for lengthier repairs. My boyfriends nice BMW 328xi needed a new rim due to the crappy potholes on the freeway around Cleveland and they did an awesome job making the wheel like new again. It cost about $1000.00 but you know the job gets done right and efficiently. They do oil changes but call in 2-4 days in advanced as they are usually booked. It takes about an hour and its best to use the promotions they send out to get this service done to save a few bucks. read more

I can't say enough good things about this dealership. Took my Volkswagen to several other places and nobody could figure out what was wrong. Jacob assured me they would get to the bottom of my problem, but it might take some time. It did take some time because a part had to be special ordered but everything is fixed and my VW bug is running like a new one. The folks in the office are very professional and mechanics really know their stuff I give them more than five stars if I could. Talked with someone named "Tony" over the phone to inquire about a spark plug and coil change for my Audi. I found him to be arrogant, condescending and unable to connect on a basic human level on a simple sales related call where he had the opportunity to represent the company in a positive way, warmly engage and win a brand new customer. The vibe I got on the phone was not very helpful or customer friendly. After the call I was left curious and came and looked them up on Yelp. Wow!... I found multiple people all making the exact same conclusions as I did having interacted with these folks. Unbelievable. I won't be taking my car to them for ANY reason. I went here because they were suppose to be experienced on working on VW Beetles. There was an issue with a beeping related to the top not recognizing it was up. I gave them a thorough explanation of the issue. They charged 2 1/2 hours to let me know they straightened a bent sensor. If that wasn't bad enough, there are latches that hold down the convertible top (it's a manual one), I explained that they didn't seem to be working properly. They said they just sprayed some WD-40 on them. They charged an hour of labor for that. I will obviously not being going back here. read more

To be honest, I visited the store after reading all the positive reviews here. "Knowledgeable", "Professional"? Disappointingly, what I've found here is lack of professionalism and sense of arrogance. The guy referred me to another body shop when I asked him about some exterior problems, which is okay since they are specialized in mechanical repairing and detailing. However when I started asking questions about door repair/oil change service/ interior detailing, he seemed very uninterested and answered all questions simply by giving prices, turning the conversation into a "I wouldn't say a word until you pay the money" mode. At last, when I asked if one of their guy could take a quick glance at my car to at least know what my concern was, the reply was "you need to make a 1-2 hour appointment for that and it takes 150-200 bucks" I truly hope that I could have found Larchmere Imports a great auto repair shop as their costumer reviewed because it's not easy to have European cars served in right place and this one is so close to where I live... read more

If you own a Land Rover, you know the pleasure and pain that these vehicles can provide. The pain coming from servicing these vehicles. First of all, no one wants to work on them, and secondly, Land Rover makes it prohibitive to do so oftentimes. This can be difficult because every Land Rover service location that I have been to has gotten a maximum of 2 out of 5 stars feedback for the service that I have received...and I have been to Westside, Solon, AND Akron! If you are outside of your warranty period, there is still hope. And that hope is found in Larchmere Imports. While I believe that their specialty are BMW's, the staff have broad knowledge of imports and vehicles in general. They are topnotch! Honestly, unless I have to go to Land Rover I will go nowhere else. John, the president, and Dave, the general manager, run the business like it's supposed to be run...like they want people to tell their friends, and like they want to be around and growing for 100 years. The service isn't the cheapest in town, but it's done expertly and they will truly educate you on your vehicle. Actually on my recent service (the dreaded one to change the belts) I did save about 30% versus the dealer. They are so passionate about the work. I recently had a 10 minute conversation with John regarding a service on my vehicle. The conversation saved me from spending money that I was more than willing to spend in the shop...Dave has done the same with me in the past. They get the fact that that is what will keep me coming back in the future. I do have a pending relocation to Brunswick in the near future, however I don't mind the commute back to Cleveland to take my truck to LarchMere Imports. I highly recommend these guys. read more

The guy almost doubled the prices. It was almost double the Porsche dealerships quote. Long story short.....go to the Porsche Dealership. We have just moved to Cleveland from California bringing our 2003 5 series with us. We were concerned about our old gal's ability to work properly in these temperatures and icy roads. We found Larchmere on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We brought the car in the next day. We were helped by Jacob, who was friendly, courteous, and very informative. We booked the car for a check up and to have new snow tires put on (they are storing our regular tires at a very resonable price). She was ready early the following week. Jacob kept us informed daily of the process of buying the snow tires. He also reassured us that the car would work very well in the wintry conditions here as it was designed and built to handle German winters. Very reassuring! We have had the car serviced regularly since we bought her fifteen years ago, first in Beverly Hills, then in San Francisco. Larchmere is every bit as thorough and professional as those top dealerships. We will use Larchmere whenever the car needs service or attention. We will also use them come the spring to repair the convertible roof on our 1991 3 series. Brought my used BMW M3 to this shop based on a recommendation from another shop who said that they do not specialize in these types of cars. I spoke to Jacob who was friendly and seemed to care about making sure I was happy with the service they provide. It's not cheap, but the service was great. They were very thorough, open and honest about what they found. Even discussing repairs that they had found to be minimal and could be monitored over time that other shops had told me were dire and needed to be fixed immediately. They seemed to genuinely care that I felt taken care of and made sure to come up with a plan for servicing the car that I was comfortable with. I really appreciate their approach to customer service which I feel is not a priority at most auto repair shops. read more

I'm going to be the minority report apparently. I don't understand how these guys get good ratings. First they lied to me on the phone about the price of an oil change. I can understand getting the price wrong on a complex procedure that needs further diagnostics but an oil change? Come on. Also they lied about being able to reset the oil service indicator. On the phone they said they would , then when I picked the car up they said they didn't have the tool to do it! Also , when I came to get the car I had to wait until they got the guy riding it around to bring it back to the shop!! They claimed it was to warm the oil up to check it. I guess they never thought about doing that while the car idled, which would work just as well. I would run , not walk away from these liars. read more

I lived in Cleveland for several years and had my 323Ci serviced by this shop regularly. The reason for my 1 star review? When my license plate light was out, the owner showed me a diagram on the computer of the trunk in their office, detailing the trunk disassembly required, and why it was going to cost several hundred dollars to repair. I didn't get it fixed until I moved to Pittsburgh. $15 wire repair job at German Motor Werks in Pittsburgh. I was never sure if their services that cost me several thousand dollars over the years were legit after that. I assumed I was getting honest service. But the license plate light was my last experience. I would never go back. read more

I had an okay experience here. I felt I had to call to check on the status of my car vs them being proactive and doing it themselves. Also, when I picked up my car, they didn't fix the emergency brake even though they said they did. How does that saying go...if you aren't going to do it right the first time don't do it at all? I am sorry,,,but after paying $1,800 in repairs and they couldn't even wash the outside of my car, I will take my car to Motorcars in downtown Cleveland from now on. Motorcars has FAR SUPERIOR service and will wash your car, offer complimentary shuttle service, and protect the inside of your car with paper floor mats...Larchmere doesn't do any of these things. read more

I've taken my 2004 MINI here twice and had a good experience both times. I took my MINI in to get diagnosed for an engine light, which was preventing me from getting plates and thus driving legally. I had already pulled down the error codes, and Larchmere Imports independently determined the same part was raising the code, did some tests, and replaced the part. Additionally, they caught that my rear license plates lights were no longer functioning, and repaired them. I was appreciative of this, as I might have never noticed myself, and was told those are required by law. I should mention that my car had been previously worked on by Classic MINI. They diagnosed and replaced a *very* expensive part (the DME/ECU). I am still suspicious over whether or not that repair was necessary/legitimate. Since I had just purchased the vehicle preowned, these repairs were coming out of Honda of Mentor's pocket, and Classic MINI probably had high incentive to overcharge. Whatever the case, the *much* cheaper part that was additionally if not solely responsible for my engine light was not diagnosed or replaced until I took my MINI to Larchmere Imports. Larchmere Imports were also willing to give me a loaner for the period that they had my car. Without sounding ungrateful, I was a little disappointed that it was an older BMW -- going from a MINI to a car twice the length that handled (not poorly but) completely different was not a great experience for me, and I would have preferred at least a smaller car. But it kept me on the road for the work week and saved me in renting a car or taking the bus, which matters more than my driving comfort. More recently, I had my MINI towed in to get bailed out after a bad DIY. Before work was done, I was called to make sure that the intake manifold bolt that I had lost couldn't possibly be in the engine, as he didn't want to start the engine with a bolt inside of it. I echoed those sentiments, and was pleased that they were concerned as well, rather than for example starting the car thoughtlessly. They found the bolt (outside of the engine) and called me to confirm that they had found it, putting me at ease, and reinforcing that they would never invent problems to increase their profits. I also left with them a piece of wheel trim for which I didn't have the time or tools to install, and they very helpfully installed it at my request and at no charge. Additionally, and presumably in response to me inquiring about their detailing services, they washed a couple months worth of rock salt off of my car. I had never seen the body of my car so clean in a long time; and the red paint really popped in a way that I had forgotten. Not sure if it was more than just a simple wash or not, but I was stunned with the way it looked nevertheless. The towing service they recommended (Vitalone's Services) did a great job at hauling my MINI onto a flatbed, using the correct tools and hauling points on my car. I didn't have to pay for the towing up front; rather it went on the final bill that I paid when I picked it up, which is definitely convenient and streamlined. Above all, Larchmere Imports are honest and only do the work that needs to be done. In fact, many times I have suggested things that might need repairs and was told that they weren't necessary at the time, or given a timeline for when those thins should actually be fixed. It could be argued that they are perhaps a little too conservative in this regard. If you want them to fix something that isn't broken (my power steering pump was noisy but completely functional), you have to push a little bit. This is probably a good thing, but if you're OCD like me and are eager to fix just about anything, just let them know you understand what you're asking for. I feel that it's important to note that they're not inexpensive and, at least for MINIs, their rate approaches that of the dealership. However, Larchmere Imports are incredibly trustworthy and do excellent work. Peace of mind is priceless. read more

They have always done an outstanding job and have made honest recommendations about the upcoming/anticipated services needed by the cars. Bottom line, I feel I was wronged and lost money working with Larchmere and would not recommend them to anyone. I had to return to another autobody shop within two weeks because of poor and incomplete service. The staff is very friendly, but I judge a business by how it responds to adversity and difficult situations. Below is my experience: Background: My car would not start. It appeared to me to be a battery issue resulting from me removing a speaker in my car. They diagnosed the issue as a crank problem and were able to get the car to start. It turned out my speaker was on the same fuse as my transmission and it had blown. They identified a handful of other issues that needed to be addressed. They complete the work (so I thought). Aftermath Issue 1: When the work was completed, I found they had accidentally removed my bluetooth speaker system. Jacob (the face to the customer) told me to bring it in, but said they wouldn't waive the cost of the repair, even though this was not something I had requested. He stated that the maintenance order told mechanics to remove all aftermarket audio parts, which it must have, but the maintenance order was written by him and not based on my instruction -- I only instructed the removal of my subwoofer system wires. While the mistake was on his end, his holier than thou mentality made him unwilling to recognize his fault or rectify his wrong. It would have been easy to waive the cost and make the repair at no charge due to the mistake and try to build a customer-first brand, but alas. Aftermath Issue 2: The initial problem, my car not starting, repeated 10 days later later due to a dead battery. While they were right in correcting the fuse / transmission issues, they failed to recognize the need to replace my battery, even though this was my initial request. They told me I needed to bring it in at a charge of $80 to identify any broader issues and that a battery would cost $500+. Breaking down the main issues: 1. I had already requested them to replace my battery and they told me it was fine. It was not fine. 2. Charging me a fee to have the problem identified, following spending ~$2k 10 days prior and after having already screwing me over on the bluetooth issue. 3. Suggesting a $500 battery for a 10-year old modest Audi A4 with 130k miles was appropriate. That is just an unprecedented level of greed. I mean the hubris! How is this helping the customer, I had already told him that I was only planning on driving this vehicle for a few more years before I'd trade it in. The factory installed battery that lasted me over 10-years costs a fraction of this. In conclusion, sub-par work, excessive greed, and an inability to take ownership of mistakes has made it impossible for me to work, or suggest others to work, with them in the future. They put on a nice facade but in reality they lack professionalism or accountability when rubber hits the road. read more

Fantastic shop! Hands down, the best around. I had what I considered a tough case. A 1986 Porsche 944 that I bought a while back and have been trying to "get straightened out'. Previous mechanical was done by very reputable NE Ohio Porsche shop, but due to a scheduling rush, I went to Larchmere for the first time. The original purpose was to get my A/C retrofitted and running, but also with the open ended request to find anything else they thought should be addressed. They got the A/C running very well. R134a retrofit, new compressor and condenser have it blowing ice cubes. But they also found several other things my previous regular mechanic missed (even though they were Porsche specialists). Dave, the master technician found my strut mounts were seized and that the entire idle system needed an overhaul. My car always idled rough when cold, but previous shop brushed that aside since it smoothed out in a minute or two. But the A/C work done at Larchmere highlighted that this was a problem that needed to be addressed (A/C kicked on and car idled as if it were cold). They diagnosed a bad idle control valve and corroded air intake. Mike sourced the parts faster than I could imagine, and got the car back together in time for a long-planned road trip. The car simply runs like a dream now. Mileage is up, steering is great and A/C is cold. These guys seriously know what they are doing. I am very particular about this car (ask Mike at Larchmere) and I do NOT easily trust people with it. I don't want anybody practicing on my car, but they had the experience and knowledge to diagnose problems others missed, fix them quickly, and correctly and if possible to rebuild parts instead of just putting new parts in. This is significant not just for cost, but also since original Porsche parts are excellent quality compared to lots of the available aftermarket parts. Awesome shop, I am thrilled to have taken my car there and will from now on! read more

The gentlemen at Larchmere accommodated my schedule and made it easy to drop off my car, even giving me a loaner vehicle as I am commuting over 40 miles for quality European car service. The techs were very informative while diagnosing the problem and started with the simple solution to try and avoid unnecessary labor. It turns out that the solution was more complicated than the initial fix and Larchmere Imports picked up where they left off and solved the problem. They did not add extra costs for replacing parts used during the initial visit and I felt that the diagnostic procedure was exactly how I would want a quality shop to approach an issue. My boyfriend and I had our second terrible experience here yesterday with our 2006 BMW. They told us it would cost $1,200 and be done Tuesday. We showed up at 3pm on Tuesday (no calls or updates from anyone) and it wasn't ready and they said it may cost more because they broke some pieces while fixing it. The owner was very rude in communicating all of this and told us "It's not 6pm (when they close) yet. We'll call you when it's ready." We're done.
