I have been shopping at Blains for a few years now. Probably going back to around 2019 where I…read moremoved into the area. The location is huge and the selections are great especially if I don't want to shop at the bigger chains who love Orange or Blue colors. The location is easy to find. It is convenient to have a light to turn into and out of the store. Parking is huge and there are plenty of spots. The store itself is very big and I have yet to explore it all. I usually come here for Lumberjack Pellets (great quality pellets that no one really sells), and landscaping relating stuff like tools and mulch. Sometimes I will browse the food selection because why not. You can usually find unique things here and one of their beef jerky brands is delicious. I have used their delivery service and pick up as well. Both have given me no issues. I have signed up for their free membership which I have no idea what it does and what benefit it holds. Overall, even though it takes ~15 minutes to drive here and drive thru an area I am not fond of... I am a huge fan of Blains and will continue to shop here.

Advance Auto was our next stop after AutoZone (across the street) didn't have the part we needed in…read morestock. Having competing auto part businesses across the street is a beautiful thing. Otherwise we would've had to drive another 20 minutes to get to the next AutoZone. This store was noticeably less busy than AutoZone. We were helped immediately, and the employee who helped us retrieved the part so quickly that I don't think I even blinked. Aside from his speedy service, he was kind of cranky looking like maybe he was hungover (it WAS a Sunday afternoon) or as if his boss yelled at him (maybe for being hungover?) My dad opened the box to make sure all parts were present. The employee looked less than amused, as if my dad were doing something wrong like eating a bag of potato chips before paying for them. Aside from grumpy helping us, we were in and out of here fast. I wasn't sure if the grumpiness was worth noting, but even my dad noticed and said, "what was up with that?" when we left the store. He isn't usually the type to comment on someone's mannerisms or even notice social awkwardness in the first place. At least it gave us something to laugh about later.

Well, I did not buy a car from River View Ford, but I would still recommend them. My car was…read moretotaled by an uninsured driver that ran into my rear end. Went to John Hennessey on the recommendation of a friend who had bought 5 cars from River View. I wanted a used Lexus. They gave me a loaner used car (one of their few Lexus used autos) to test out for the weekend. Price was more than fair, car was fine -- but too small for me. Just too darn small. But you don' t know till you get in and drive around for a bit. They delivered the car to the BNSF Metra station of my choice, and when I called John H and told him I fell in love with a used Infiniti (almost by accident, just stopping into another dealer to kick the tires--but the heart wants what it wants) they came to get the car where I was - at my sister's, about 1/2 hour from Oswego. This, after I used their car for almost 2 days. And I am almost ashamed to say, the last morning of which I shopped for other cars. If I was a Ford man, I would make a beeline to Riverview Ford. Based on my experience, a quality outfit -- stand-up guys.

It was a 2017 Ford Focus with only 30K miles. As anyone looking for cars today knows that it is hard to find an older car with low miles. The price was very fair. When we got to store the Sales Manager, Tom Julian, was also very helpful and made the buying experience memorable for my son. He was very cordial and I know we got a very good deal on the car. Over the decades of buying cars, this was by far the best interaction we have had with a dealership. If I had this interaction years ago when buying a car, I think we would have been a long term Ford family. We also met the owner, John Hennessy, and that also supported the fact that this store has an old school approach and treats their customers in the right way.
