If you don't read anything else about this review, know that the customer service and professionalism of the crew at this Autozone on the 9000 block of Westport (not the one closer to the interstate, the other one) was 5 star yesterday. That being said... If you know me, then you know that me and mechanics don't mix. This is not a purposeful lack of skill, I give it the ol' college try, but I generally pay for my oil changes and such just because I, frankly, know my limitations. So when I went to Autozone looking for a head lamp for my car, I knew I was probably past those limits before I even stepped in there. There were 4 or 5 employees standing around a quiet store and I quickly got the part that I needed. I went out to my car and worked in earnest to get my hood open. I did, I tried. After an appropriate amount of time giving me the benefit of the doubt, someone (Jordan) came out to help. He didn't make me feel bad for not knowing how to do it myself, which is huge for me, just honestly offered to help. He popped open my hood (and confirmed that Buicks, indeed, are tough to open. thank you very much.) and changed out my light. When it was the wrong part he went back inside to exchange it for me. When I followed him in to pay for the exchange and locked my keys in my car he let me use the phone to call AAA. Problem solved, an hour later and comedy of errors aside. A while later when my headlights came on and the left side was still dark, I raced back there right before they closed. The employees recognized me and we figured out that I have more than one light and the wrong one had been switched out. Another employee (I wish I remembered his name) worked with me to switch out this one. It took nothing less than the owner's manual, a set of socket wrenches, a flashlight and pliers. I held the flashlight, and read the manual. I am a very good assistant, if nothing else. All of this for what ended up being $40 in sales. I was treated respectfully, and honestly helped when I needed it. I will go out of my way to come back to this location. They deserve the business.

They get the job done. They were able to do engine code…read morereads and perform the repair. I went to two other places first to try and get the code read when my engine light came on, but they weren't doing those things during COVID. PepBoys was. Their retail area is not operating at this time, but they are doing repairs. And they were able to find a coupon code to take out a bit of the sting of the cost of my repair. BUT. They have the waiting area set up for appropriate social distancing, and a second waiting area set up. But another guy who was waiting at the same time as me decided that instead of seating himself in one of the 4 other spots that could view the television...he would go to the one spot that could not see the TV....and instead move the chair next to me. So, I decided to go for a walk while my car was being worked on. There are plenty of posted signs saying what they were doing during COVID, including wearing gloves, wearing masks, and wiping down surfaces at certain intervals. And I can confirm that NONE of those things are happening. Everyone at the counter *had* masks, but they were wearing them like beards. Completely useless. No one had gloves on at anytime inside the store. And I never saw a wiping down of any surface. I didn't really have many options. And thankfully, I was able to leave the store for a while during my repair and distance myself. But they are flouting their own posted rules, which feels unsafe and...like why even say what you are doing to keep safe and clean when you are going to stand directly behind that sign doing the exact opposite of what is stated?

Since I'd already removed the wheel I said that I would leave it and come back when it was fixed and they could put it on the car. My husband did his homework before buying tires for my vintage car. The tires that had been on the…read morevehicle were close to but not the same size as the original tires. This lead to my speedometer not reading accurately and the tires getting some rub. After determining the correct size my husband decided he really wanted Firestone tires. Our local tire shop doesn't carry Firestone so we opted to try Michel Tires Plus in Louisville. The process went quite smooth. My husband ordered the tires and set an appointment for the following week to have the tires installed and balanced. The business also does an inspection at the same time for brake wear and several other mechanical functions. On the day we dropped the car off the tire shop kept in touch with a slight delay in when the vehicle would be ready. (Only about an hour later than had been originally indicated). We are happy as can be with the new tires and how the car drives. We also were happy with the price and the savings we got by getting their charge card. I would have given the business five stars but they indicated we would be needing a new battery in the near future. Based on that information my husband ordered a battery from an auto shop and then did some checking. It turns out we didn't need a battery at all so my husband had to cancel the battery he had ordered. Although you only need so many tires I can imagine that we would give Michel Tires Plus repeat business.
