I'm not a huge "car" guy. I love their aesthetics, I know some terminology but I am not one of those folks who can take apart an engine and reassemble it or who think changing oil is as easy as washing the dishes. So when I need to get something in my car fixed, I generally check in with my uncles first. When one of my headlight bulbs went out, they suggested I did NOT go to my dealership and pay a fortune to have it replaced. Instead they recommended I go to a parts store, buy it and either ask them to install it or install it myself.
So I decided to head over to this Autozone (the most convenient for me to get to) and purchased the bulbs I needed. Now, the first time I went the place was *packed* and at any given time there are perhaps only about 3-4 people on staff. Some of the customers in front of me had a pile of questions, and I noted that the employees were extremely patient with every single one. I gave them kudos for that, but by the time I got the bulbs I had to leave. I did ask if they would install the bulbs in general and they said yes, so long as it was purchased there. At the very least, I had a backup plan.
The next day I watched a pile of Youtube videos and installed the bulb myself. The thing is, it took me 45 minutes to do it and my fingers were kind of wrecked from the process. So...when the *other* bulb went out, I headed back to the Autozone with the other bulb (and my receipt) in hand and even though that had been months ago they were very kind about installing the bulb.
The guy did it in under ten minutes. And with a smile.
Realizing the limits of my abilities with cars, I was very grateful. While you may have a wait ahead of you it's worth it. The first time I went was around 5:30PM in the afternoon, so I think I ran into the "after work" crowd. When I went at 3:45PMish, it was fairly empty.
I was very happy and fortunate that the staff was very kind and helpful at this location. read more
