Autozone has been a hit-and-miss, but staple of do-it-yourself auto repair for years. I had cause to use them twice in the last week and was pleased to see that it's largely unchanged. You go in to any store, it's usually somewhat busy, and in-and-out picking up something is kind of hit and miss based on how many people are there to get something and how many know what they need. The sales are OK (signage isn't great) and the prices are nearly at MSRP, so I suspect that's the cost of getting name-brands like Griots on the shelves. What's nice is that they still have services like OBDII reading (it's all fancy now with a printout) and battery testing. THIS is what makes it 4 stars instead of 3. They, unlike most retail, have a business model that isn't completely superfluous and that's going to play in to whether people keep shopping there and if the company makes it through the next 10 years. Service at the AutoZone on Main Street I would say is good for what they seem to put into their employees. I am a strong proponent of paying a living wage and investing in employees through training. I'm not talking about the monotonous retail work, but giving them knowledge that makes them more marketable for long-term jobs. As of right now, a basic search will give you estimated hourly and salaries - AutoZone could last long-term if they invest in their people; they have enough of a service model to stay relevant, we'll have to see what happens. read more

Autozone at 336 main street Danbury CT Vinny G, parts sales manager customer satisfaction, went above an beyond his duty at autozone. I had car issues and thought it was one thing. Vinny told me that he can check the car out for me. Actually because i could not answer his questions, he went out to look at the car. He came asked me if the little car was mine. It was not. So he and his partner sunday night waited for me to bring the car around before closing. They knew i have a 5 hour drive and wanted to make sure i can get home safely. read more

Sunday morning my boyfriend's car wouldn't start. I was 45 mins away from my garage and had no tools with me. I called and had the pleasure of speaking with Danny who is very knowledgeable and extremely kind. I had originally planned on jumping the car and bringing it down to them to have them install a new battery (which Danny explained he was more than happy to help do even though it was freezing out!), but when I tried to start the car it was dead as could be- as in I couldn't even get it to jump w/cables. So instead I had to run down to their location on Main ST to pick up the battery and sadly purchase a socket set even though I already had multiple sets of them in my toolbox - but like I said I was desperate and far from the shop. When I got there Danny had my battery waiting for me and after I explained to him my situation and asked for him to show me where I could purchase the 10mm deep socket that I needed he actually loaned me a set so I wouldn't have to waste additional money. Let me tell you, I've had some... let's say less than great experiences at AutoZone throughout the state throughout my lifetime, but this guy went above and beyond for a total stranger. I couldn't thank him enough and he's a great counter parts employee (I've worked in shops my whole life so have extensive experience in dealing with parts guys ). I didn't catch the name of the other guy working with him but he was also super nice and helpful and they worked seamlessly together. Auto zone you have real gems in your ranks at this location and Danny is a fantastic company representative- you're lucky to have him so I hope you treat him as good as he treated me ! My car battery died due to the severe freezing weather with in the last couple of weeks. I had my 18 month old and my 10 year old in the car when the car wouldn't start. (Just my luck). After a friend came to jump start my Barrett I went to buy a new one. When I walked in there was a gentleman who was not helping anyone notice that I needed help, he then walked away and stared talking to another employee. Everyone else was actually working and helping other customers. I was happy he turned his back though because I had the best experience with the worker who did help me. Despite the fact that it was freezing outside, he proceeded to replace my dead battery and made sure that everything was working and that I was all set. I couldn't thank him enough for his patience, diligence, and concern for my families well being. It's people like that gentleman who really make a difference. read more

I never have a good time at this store. Employees are usually busy talking and can't be bothered. They often do not have parts in stock for my car so they have to order them. Two days later the parts come in and they are the wrong parts. Wait two more days. Wrong parts again. I went to NAPA, they took care of me first time. Thanks for nothing AutoZone. read more

Let me just start this by saying, I just signed up today to review some local auto parts stores because I have had it with some of these places while some good ones deserve more credit. This particular autozone seems very poorly staffed. There are a couple of individuals that are great, running around trying to help people quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately they are outnumbered by the rude and poorly trained employees wasting time taking personal phone calls at the counter, spending inordinate amounts of time trying to figure out how their computers work, or simply walking away from the long lines to never return. When this place is empty its slow, when it gets busy it just about comes to a stop. And a lot of the parts they carry are poor quality. Go to the brookfield store if you want an Autozone with better help, go elsewhere if you want better parts AND better help. read more

Nice associate came out to help me jump my car in the lot. Recommended the correct parts for my situation. Checkout could be handled better. But all in all a good experience and well stocked basics store. read more

As soon as I walked in to autozone on main st Danbury Ct, I was never greeted I walked by an employee that the manger Daniel wouldn't even give me his name because he stated he was in charge of him. This employe just kept playing with car air fresheners as I'm waiting at the register for several minutes still no one asked me if I needed any help. when I approach the employee if I could get help he didn't even say a word to me just walked to the register and slammed the air freshener down onto the counter. Then looks at me and says what do you need? I asked him if he could get someone else to help me because it was pretty clear he didn't want to help me. Then Daniel the manger comes out from the back and didn't even apologize or say anything to make me feel comfortable to even want to stay and get what I needed. I felt very disgusted and I would never step foot there again. On top of all that the employe didnt even have his mask on properly (mouth and nose out). When I mentioned it to the manager he didn't even seem to care. Autozone you guys are losing a lot of money for keeping employees like that. read more

Most uninterested staff ever, they all seem to hate working there. Iv gone about 10 times and only once did I have a good associate. Every other time they either ignore me or have horrible customer service skills. read more

Don't shop here. Go to Advance. Had a battery under warranty... but thanks to Jody Beth Franco I am missing a day of work because she was too lazy to do her job. On top of being lazy she was downright rude, swearing at me, causing a scene in the store in front of other customers... halfway through the transaction I was asked if I was f***ing serious and she just walked away...... I will never shop at Auto Zone again unless someone gives her a couple tips on customer service. read more

The only reason this store is getting a 2 star is because of the nice commercial parts manager who helped me. The other woman was rude. After telling me they only had a glaring tool in standard in stock I asked for that one then she told me she only had metric! What?!! Change your mind much? So I asked for the metric one and she told me it won't fit. I told her that's fine I'm getting it anyway. She walked off in a huff. Sadly I don't want to come back to this store if she's going to be in customer service! I've had some really nice people who work here and she just makes people not want to come here. read more

The staff in this Autozone is so rude it's unbelievable. I went in to make a return of something I bought earlier in the day. I was returning a spray because I grabbed the wrong one. When I initially bought it I was in line and one of the employees exclaims "if you're ready to pay come to this register... Debit or cash" So my boyfriend and I proceed to pay for our spray and he pulls out his debit card and the employee looks at us and rudely exclaims "I can't do that here" she then proceeds to sigh dramatically and tells us to come down to a different register. When we get to the other register she doesn't speak a word to us. Now later on in the day we go back to return the spray we bought, it is unused by the way. As soon as she sees us she sighs dramatically and seems to not even want to return the item for us and then we have a question regarding the problem our car has and instead of helping us she yells across the store to her coworker to come help us. He as well has an attitude. Basically what I'm trying to get across here is that the employers of the Autozone on Main Street are incredibly rude and if you want good customer service I suggest you go to a different autozone. read more
