Suddenly, I heard a faint commotion outside overtake the sounds of the Foo Fighters coming through my stock stereo speakers. Was this another sad case of road rage? Emergency vehicles perhaps in the distance looking for everyone to get out of the way? What on God's green earth was making all of that noise? As I reached over to lower the volume on "Times Like These", I suddenly noticed a man in my side view mirror frantically waving his arms at me from the car behind me. Do I acknowledge him? Did I piss him off somewhere with my impeccable driving skills? What in the H-E double hockey sticks does this guy want??? Begrudgingly, I poked my gigantic size 8 cranium out of my car window to see what he was huffing and puffing about. Still confused, I gave him the classic New York attitude and stare while semi-yelling "Yea"? I was already going through my pre-fight checklist when he too poked his head out of his window and, with a very friendly smile, said "Your right break light is out!" Swallowing my now foolish bravado, I replied "Ohhhh, thank you so much sir!!" Now feeling like a moron, paranoia slowly began to seep into my mindset. How long has that taillight been out? How much is this gonna cost me to fix? I hope that there aren't any cops around because I can't afford a ticket right now. As I cautiously made my way home, I began to construct a brilliant plan to solve my problem. How hard could it be to fix a taillight? Thankful that I live in the golden age of the internet, I immediately went to YouTube and punched in the specifics of my car and ended with "how to replace a broken taillight". Wouldn't you know it, the results came back with multiple videos on how to fix my issue. Armed with my newfound expertise, as well as the exact part number to the bulb I needed to replace, I then opened Mr. Reliable, YELP, to find my closest auto parts store. Easy peezy! I had actually been to this Advanced Auto Parts store once before a few years ago, and they were nice enough then to earn my repeat business. The only difference this time is that they slipped "Discount" into the name, so officially they are known as Advanced Discount Auto Parts. The same guy was working the front, and he was as friendly this time as he was before. Listened intently as I babbled about what I needed, and he showed me a couple of choices that I could have picked from in regards to the bulb I needed. The store is clean and laid out very well, so you won't get stuck walking around in circles. I could definitely see myself spending a bunch of money here if I wasn't so broke to begin with. So many cool things to fix or enhance your car with, it's a wonderland if you're a car guy or gal. Another great experience!
