I called Car Sound to have them check their work, since I was unaware of any issues until the car starter was installed. I was able to get an appointment quickly. Upon inspection of the car, the owner of Car Sound came to me, after inspecting the installation work, with the owner's manual explaining the safety features of my car. I was aware of some of the information, but it was very helpful to have a professional explain the features with detail. During this time, an office manager was looking up information on her computer to find out what could cause the issue. Between the owner and office manager they diagnosed the issues and showed me how I could check for the culprit if I ran into that issue again. I called the dealership to see if they would also check the issue out and make sure that there aren't any other sensor issues. Long story short they told me it would be $180 just to bring it in. I went home pulled a panel off the car cleaned out the rocks and am no longer experiencing issues. Do not allow your mechanic to install Interstate Batteries model# MR-S1R. It is known to be…read moredefective and you'll spend hundreds of dollars for the shop to figure it out. In July 2022 I took my car in for an early minor tune up as we were moving and finding a honest, reliable mechanic isn't an easy task, especially for a woman. The only issue found was the car needed a new battery. The shop installed Interstate Batteries model# MR-S1R. We moved in Aug 2022. In Dec 2022 my car started having issues of intermittent starting with no interior lights. Upon checking battery connections, the car would start. After several instances, I contacted Interstate Batteries to locate a mechanic to replace the battery. I contacted a local mechanic, told them of my issues and informed them all I wanted was for them to change my battery as it was under warrantee. They went through their list of possible issues and I explained why none of them were the issue. I informed them of the minor tune up in Jul 2022 and how the only work done was changing the battery. The shop told me to bring my car and they would test the battery and change it per the warranty. After sitting at the shop for 2 hour, they informed me they don't know what's wrong with my car. They said they would change the battery and test my car to ensure if was running properly. If there were still issues, then they would need to diagnostic testing on my car. The shop had my car for 48 hours and I thought something was majorly wrong. Turns out they ran the diagnostics on my car before installing a new battery. When they finally changed the battery and all the issues stopped. When I picked up my car I was informed the battery was known to have issues. I was livid because they told me on the phone it wasn't the battery and needed to do diagnostic testing. The shop charged me almost the same amount of money I spent back in July 2022 when the battery was installed. The shop told me they were required by Interstate Batteries to prove the battery was defective. Even though it ended up being the battery, which was replaced under warranty, I ended up paying the mechanic for a known defective product. Upon contacting Interstate Batteries to complain about the warranty process knowing their product was defective. They said they would investigate and reimburse if they thought their product was proven to be defective. Though they did reimburse paying for another battery, it didn't cover the forced cost of their required diagnostic testing. Some scam they have going on to rid hard-working people out of their money. Then I found out the shop could have installed any battery brand. Stay away from Interstate Batteries as they knowingly sell defective products.

I took it to another shop for another diagnostic and they say the fix will cost thousands. At this point the cost of these repairs is more than the car is worth. If All Pro had diagnosed the problem correctly the first time I never would have agreed to their fixes. I contacted them to see if I could get some reimbursement for their failed work, or a reduced rate on further repairs and they declined both. They did manage to not fix my car in less than a day though, so I'll give them a star for that!

That worked, but only held for a day. I called back and Pete said to bring it right back in, and they'd run the diagnostic. We had elected not to do that the first time, hoping that recharging the system would do the trick. Got it back in, and the condenser was bad. Because it's a Hybrid, the part was only available from Toyota -- it took overnight to get the part, and they had it back up and running the next morning. Replacing this part also required dropping the front bumper, in order to reach it, so it wasn't a real easy job. They discounted the repair for the cost of the previous days' recharge, since it didn't hold long. Pricing was reasonable given the difficulty in replacement, and they got the work done very quickly.

On my recent visit, I went here because I needed a new battery. To be more specific, I just got a jump from my in-laws and was driving on a dead battery. Needless to say, I was planning to change the battery in the parking lot. The sales associate was very helpful finding which battery I wanted to buy. There are many different brands that are rated with different cold cranking amps (CCA). In case you didn't know, as the weather gets colder, it is harder for a battery to function. For example, you've probably noticed that when it's really cold, your car takes a few seconds longer to start or may not start at all! Having a battery with a higher CCA rating such as 800 CCA ensures that the battery will function when it's like ten below zero. The standard rating is 600 CCA. Given our frigid winters here in Iowa, I prefer to buy a battery with at least 800 CCA. After I chose my battery, which was around $120 that included a six year warranty, the sales associate offered to install it for me! This is a great service for individuals who are not familiar with cars. Also, the batteries themselves weight about 40 pounds so having someone lift and install them is very helpful. He grabbed the new battery and put it on a cart with all of the required tools. He wheeled the cart outside, and he changed the battery. He also recommended buying some battery terminal rings, which are green and red cloth discs that go around the terminals. These rings and the associated liquid coating that is applied to the terminals are designed to help reduce discharge. I have used them in the past and decided to use them again. Besides, they are only a couple of bucks! Lastly, the sales associate took my old battery, which will be properly disposed/recycled. Advance Auto also has some great sales every now and then. You don't need the coupons as they have them posted outside the building or along the counter. Lastly, if you are doing any of your own car work in their parking lot, the sales associates are really cool about letting you use their restroom to wash up afterwards. Also, their restroom has that orange, mechanic's soap that gets all of the oil and crud off of your hands! Overall, a great place to buy all of your car parts and accessories!
